Wiche colour you make on your hair? What is the colour number?
Do you think is ok to dye your whole head with a box dye? i have short hair and can not do just the roots i am never able to cover them, only when i dye my whole head
Oh my gosh, I was flabbergasted when I saw you doing this while wearing that beautiful white outfit!! You are a true professional. I get dye on my towel, my shirt, the counter, the floor -- I'm in awe!!!
LOL!!! It was risky…
Haha. I was thinking she's so brave wearing this lol 😆
I dyed my hair a week or two ago, first time in over a year. A friend was in the bathroom, reading out the instructions and telling me I'd got dye all over the boiler, the bath etc etc. Good job there's no carpet in the bathroom!
I wear an old dressing gown when I dye my hair. That's all it's used for. It's cotton so absorbs the dye that I spill
I dye my hair red and the bathroom always looks like a crime scene when I have finished. 😊😆
What a great idea! I used to be a hairdresser, and when i was in my teens and early 20s I used box colour in every shade and I found it to be very similar to professional colour. I also found that box colour is easier to lift if you want to remove it to lighten it. I never told clients that they shouldn't use box colour.
I loved this Gloss in copper, it made my red almost dull hair so vibrant, I put some on my mom's hair which is dish water blonde and gray, and it turned blonde but with such a slight green tint, hard to explain lol but we both agreed it was better than how it looked before we put it on.
Those warm copper / caramel lights look great on you !
Very good video !
I'm so impressed that you were able to do that color job in that fabulous cream-colored dress! Such a professional. Lol. Results are gorgeous & I love the cut too.
I use almond blonde like conditioner. No need for gloves and bowls at all
I just love that you’re in the same environment as me in Alaska. Environment really does effect your hair!
Oh does it ever!!!
Blond is the only shade that I do not dare yet ... a box-dye highlights tutorial would be great. Love your channel, happy weekend.
I wish I saw this before yesterday I was blonde and I wanted to dye my hair blue. I would if totally did this tutorial on my channel.
Right now I am sitting with a orange brassy bayalage from the salon. It's absolutely terrible and I feel far from looking put together 😆 Idk what to do with this hairdo. It's depressing! No one will fix this 😃 like multiple stylists are saying they aren't sure what to do with it and or won't fix it. I'm tempted to box dye it 😁
@@ltrujillo5476Oh no. Could you use purple shampoo?
Wow! That came out AMAZING! My question is about shampooing before you color. Alot of box dyes that I have used in the past say to not wash your hair before coloring or to apply to dry hair. Should I actually be washing first and applying to wet hair????
Hi Gabi - fellow Cannuck girl here. Love your channel! Question: i’ve been highlighting my medium brunette hair for almost 2 years. I LOVE being blonde! BUT…it’s now becoming a “solid” blonde. When I first started I loved that it was highlights. How can I started getting some brunette back?
Question 2: i also love seeing your brunette hair with warm brunette highlights. Can I go from my blonde back to brunette w warm highlights in one sitting? Or will it have to be in stages?
I still LOVe the blonde but mostly feeling it’s too all over now vs highlights.
All done by my pro hairdresser whom I love!
What I'm planning on using is called Ion. I got it at Sally's. I used this and Wella N dark blonde on the test I did with a piece of my hair that was my natural color. Bleached it with 30 volume first then tried both colors and the Ion was way better in looks and feel. I don't know if Ion is considered box die. Your toner turned out pretty even in the darker part. It looks warmer.
What was the formula for ion? Do you know the color code and the developer that you used? I’m just excited and nerding out as a stylist 🤗
It says medium blonde 7N. On the Sally website, in the comments a couple people said the developer was 30 but I don't see anywhere on the box or anywhere else where it says that. It does say it covers grey. On the strand of old hair that I used, it came out darker that the Wella dark blonde N. It had more shine and the quality of the hair was better. It has argan, camellia and coconut.
@@catitude4 7N is a pretty color. It's a very very light brown. I'm happy that you found something that works for you!

@@nolasfamily3913 Thanks so much! That really means a lot to me. :)
This warm brown really looks nice on you.
I'm about an hour down the 401 and it feels odd to hear SW Ontario being called a tundra when we're both going to get blasted by a humid heat wave the next few days! I've been really interested in the Clairol Gloss to liven up my 'virgin' regrowth as my natural colour is kinda meh. Not really sure which one I should try though. I think I'm a level 5/6 and it'd be nice to brighten a bit but this line seems to offer only warmth to brunettes so I'm also considering the Natural Instincts line, as that seems to offer more options. Mmmdecisions...
Greetings from Toronto. I'm so happy I found your channel. I bought this product yesterday at Walmart and had high hopes it would add warmth to my hair. Your video was very helpful and informative and in a short time I learned so much from you. Thank you so much for posting this video. You have no idea how helpful it is. By the way, I just subscribed to your channel. I'mma check your other videos and see what you have in store :) cheers and enjoy the cold weather in Tundra....before you know we will have the hot sticky summer days upon us.
What would happen if I used a brown colour similar to this on my bleached platinum hair? Kinda curious lol.
Looking gorgeous 😍 Gabi... ❣

I thought box dye needed dirty hair to colour it. It says in the instructions that you will get better results with dirty hair, Shampoo the Night before. Now I have been using box dye for 17 years and the times I colour it after I wash, it's not as pigmented and doesn't last as long.
Hey! This is a direct dye without a developer which means that it is a toner/stain. A toner needs to be done on damp, washed hair. When you go to the salon and get highlights, they foil the hair using lightener, wash the lightener out and then tone the hair at the sink when the hair is still wet. This particular color is the same. That is why I used damp and clean hair. Regardless of that, hair color that is applied on dirty hair will NEVER yield better results. Permanent color needs to get into the cortex and if there is a lot of product build up and oil on the hair and on the cuticle layer, the developer has to cut through that to deposit the color. You will always always get better results on clean hair no matter what the situation is. Most coloring jobs should be done on clean and DRY hair but if you are using a toner, then it should be done on clean and damp hair. Washing the night before as you mentioned is fine because your hair is not dirty but I have had a few clients think that they shouldn't was their hair for a week before coloring and that is simply not true.
I have the same problem
Okay thanks for the information . I was a little confused when you were washing your hair. It's nice to learn something new so thank you for that
Hi Gaby , thank you so very much for your service. I have a question about using this product with henna hair . Is it safe?
@@beautynthedabz You're very welcome! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
my hair is naturally dark. I get it hilighted on occasion with caramel hilights----I bought a box dye--of dark blonde---on the box it was dark blonde---when i put it on my hair it was pretty much a dark brown..can you tell me why? If anything I thought maybe it would be dark blonde on my hilights and on my roots maybe a darker blonde/light brown but nope it was dark brown.
I need to do my roots first, can I do the gloss at the same time? Obviously wash the colour out first and then put the gloss on? Thank you
How do you go from natural red to brown in a temporary dye? Would this brand work?
I am more amazed by the fact that you did not get one drop of color on your beautiful sweater.
Lol!!! I thought the same as I was doing it…”maybe I shouldn’t have work this…”That’s what happens when you have been doing it for 15 years lol. You get pretty good at controlling that brush.
@@GlamGirlGabi and BTW your hair looks amazing. I am very concerned with using only natural products which is difficult to find but have tried Naturtint and am very happy with it. Can you recommend any other brands that are less toxic/more natural then some of the drug store brands?
How bold to wear a lovely dress when dyeing hair! 😂😂😂
Sounds good! I'll try it when I see it in the store! I've tried L'Oreal LeColor Gloss and that works and smells nice too. I just have to keep the MEA off my scalp as it gives me psoriasis. Haven't been using gloves, the cool blonde one, and it doesn't stain my hands much at all.
I wanted to try that one too! I may try that on a friend of mine on Saturday actually. Stay tuned for that video!
@@GlamGirlGabi Love to see it!
My hair always turns orange even when I use the ash box dyes. I use the AA when I go to the salon
Gabi-Love this channel. I have learned so much from you and from your viewers (the comments)
The box didn’t lie! Your hair looks beautiful.
I would love to see how your balayage is done! I have similiar lenght and hair colour to yours, and I really like the way your hair looks!
Hey girl! I’ll do a video for you next time I color it myself. Stay tuned! It’s not that difficult. It’s mostly babylights and a shadow root.
I’m so glad I found your channel. 🥰 I have straight just below the shoulder hair. I love your hairstyle and the movement it has. How would I describe your style to my own hairdresser?
You may wish to show your hairdresser a video of Ms. Gabi. She/he will know exactly what you want. Cheers !
LOVE the after color
Hi Gabbi, your hair turned out really nice with this! I have a question for you
I use box dyes for years but have found that when covering my grey roots it no longer lasts near as long as it used to and it fades out to an awful brassy color! Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. My hair color is dark brown like yours, wavy/curly, and thinning😏
Hey Gail! Thanks for watching! Okay so my question is what color are you using? What box and what is the color description? Do you know what level your natural hair is?
@@GlamGirlGabi Thanks for responding Gabi, So first I don't know my natural hair level is lol. It is a lighter brown than what I have been coloring for oh about 20 years. I always use dark brown and usually go with Claire nice n easy sometimes even the root touch up. I also use Revlon color silk as it has no ammonia. I have always had good luck with a powder hair color called Bigen which lasted a good 3 weeks but nope not anymore. I pretty much just cover my roots anymore. I'm in my 60's so everything is changing!😆
@@gailbennett7105 My mom is in her 60s and the big body changes can be so stressful. I hear you! I think what it happening is that you are not using enough of an N pigment to fully cover your greys. You need a natural pigment to cover greys and they are resistant little suckers. When you look for a color, make sure that it says it covers 100% of greys on the box and don't buy anything that indicates that the color is "warm" or "golden". Don't choose colors like Clairol 4G (Dark Golden Brown) or 4W (Dark Mocha Brown). These colors will fade brassy on grey hair for sure. 4 (Dark Brown) will work better. Remember that the lower the number, the darker the pigment and removing dark pigment is hard so don't go darker then you want or else you may regret it later. If you stick to the level you like, for example a 4 and choose a neutral tone, you should be good to go. I hope I was able to help.
Thank you Gabi for your time! You were most helpful and I'm not giving up😆
@@GlamGirlGabi During the last major lockdowns in my state, it was very hard to get into a salon for a cut or color. Based upon that experience and the potential of more looming ahead, I decided to go natural color and also grown my pixie out into a bob. For me it works because I have reduced the stress in my life of trying to maintain my look, accepting who I am with the unknown. Now I’ve fully embraced my 65 yr old life, silver strands and all. 🙍🏼♀️
Love this Gabi
Thanks Paul! We have to love a good old direct deposit dye 😉 No developer. No damage. Easy. It’s a win/win over here!
where did you buy your watch band it’s really beautiful. I enjoy watching your videos i learned a lot.
This was so good . And the results were amazing. Do you have a video on going Silver ?
Can you give me your level two hair? I'm tired of dying my hair black. But I love it! ❤
Wash hair twice , rinse , part in 4 seconds, apply color situation brush & Bowl , apply gloss , leave on 15 min , Rince , condition
How would it work on salt and pepper grey hair? If it washes out rather than growing out, it would be fun to try. I would worry about it leaving a residue.
Wow looks great. I'm a blonde please find me a box dye that covers gray and is golden blonde
I was using box color for years and started to get Bald spots. stop coloring my hair and the bald spots were gone. If I go to a salon to color my hair will I get bald spots or no because is a better product.
I used to make shampoo and conditioner. Should I do this the day before a special event or a few days prior? I guess I'm wondering if it weighs your hair down?
That color looks great on you
Thank you so much! I really like it. It is soft and natural which is my vibe.
Love love love your Chanel you explained perfectly thanks ❤️❤️
Thanks so much Tracy!! I appreciate the support. Welcome to the channel!
Please, can we get a video on how to address overtone disasters (brown a.k.a. orange red) at home?
Looks amazing 🤩
What is the healthiest box dye for black hair with blue
I think your hair looks great.
Thank you!
Even though the box isnt complete, the colour looks great on you.♥️
Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback. It turned out really pretty and had such a nice smell to it. Brought back loads of shine to my hair too.
@@GlamGirlGabi youre welcome, even though they hav a bad image i must say, i had create a few fantastic results with box dye which look as great as i get with professional colour, i wrked a short time in a salon (hope i will it again) and i could create good results with less money and the same product. I think both have their pros and cons
@@jonasattia4411 There are definitely pros and cons to everything. The biggest con with box dye by a landslide is user error and the fact that it is not customizable.
@@GlamGirlGabi yeah thats right
yesss waiting on that blonde box dye vid
It’s coming!!! I promise it’s coming!!
Nice to see this as s hairstylost too. Seems really good to fresh up ur tone between salonvisits too 😍👏🏻
It really is and VERY easy for our clients to do. No damage, hydrating and effective. They also have an ash blonde which blonde clients would LOVE for keeping that yellow tone away. This is totally not sponsored by the way. Clairol has no clue who I am.

Hey İ am loving the box dye series .
İ would like to know your opinion on this situation :
İ have virgin black hair level 1 İ would like to achieve a copper .
İf high lift color can lift up to 4 shades that means İ would be left with the underlying shade of a light brown which is orange .
İf İ use toner over the orange İ can achieve a copper .
At what point am İ wrong ?
Thank you
What is the bracelet you are wearing? I love it!
Nice! I have dark hair but the ends are like this somewhat. My question is if I get this color and I want to go to chocolate brown what color what I need to get?
Hi Gabi , can i use it on top of the henna to cover the orange. please answer🥰🥰🥰
Oohhh, this makes me want to try the cool blonde gloss for my blonde babylights!

Try it out! It’s great for blonde toning! Thanks for joining my virtual family Veronika!
It looks great on you !
Why didn’t we get a 10 day later update? Does it really wash out like they said? What about a couple weeks later. Did it have any effects on darken your roots could you seen the growth line later?
No because there is no developer, this cannot create a permanent color change. It slowly faded away and then washed out after ten washes. It’s impossible for a product like this to create a root demarcation.
Love your channel, first video I watched was the box dye on your friends hair It was the shade I used...I am a strawberry blond and have use clairol and get such a great match...this was a really great video as well and am going to check out this product Do you have a clarifying shampoo that you recommend i too live in this winter tundra Barrie thx again for the awesome videos...Cheers
Hi Gabi,ok girl got a question I recently used highlighting cap on brownish graying hair, now it isn’t awful but needs toned more to take down brassiness what do I use, please help😕🧐
I used a hot pink 10-wash dye on my bleached ends and after 2,5 months its still in! I wash my hair 3 times a week so its been way more than 10 washes. I want it out :/
I need help Gabi!
Hi Gabi , thank you for your help. I have a question about using this product on my henna color hair.is it safe?
I just stumbled across your channel and find it very helpful. Do you have a channel for makeup? Your makeup is great, I love your lipstick color.
I used to do a lot of makeup tutorials on here but I stopped because the competition on UA-cam for makeup is SO high that those videos weren’t getting enough views ❤️
It's very brave of you to dye your hair in light dress 🥺😂The result is very beautiful😍😍😍
Thought the same and with that bracelet too. 😄
It looks beautiful
I think it looks amazing!
Beautiful color
Gabi it looks awesome 👏🤗🤩🥳
hair looks lovely!!!!!!
Thank you so much, can I add the magic grey I bought from sallys?
What is the Magic Grey? I have to look into that product!
Nerd question. How do these toners tone blonde hair? I thought purple shampoos and masksetc tone down brassiness. What would a cool blonde toner do on blonde hair? Or is it just in fact purple toner? Thanks!
You read my mind. My friend who has blonde hair is coming over next weekend and we’re making a video on this exact thing. Stay tuned!!!

Why do people say balayage like “bolly-azh”? It’s ba-lie-azh
She's canadian?
How can you judge any color on day one. Let’s see you day 21.
Every color, regardless of the type, will fade within a month. I see clients every 6-8 weeks and by that time, there hair needs some serious love and that’s using Goldwell which is considered one of the most prestige color lines in the world. This is a direct dye so it won’t even last that long. It will last a maximum of ten shampoos so if I wash my hair three times a week, that will be about three weeks of wear time.
Who pays 19.99 for a home box dye lasting only 10 washes? The price is outrageous. No gloves either.
You get multiple applications for it though. I would say you get at least four applications so you’re paying $5.00 per application. Also - just so you know this is in Canadian dollars.
@@GlamGirlGabi ok, that sounds better 😊
Hi GGG...😃 I'd like to ask your professional opinion about the goods you demoed. I have medium brown & gray hair. As with most people who are 71.5 my hair is salt & pepper. I have in the past and I recently purchased from an at home coloring company who uses professionals and you pick your desired color hair dye with developer. Frankly, I'm having second thoughts about placing color in my hair because of the process & upkeep. When I saw your video on the application of a gloss I thought this my work much better for me. I thought that might be a good solution to put some life back in my haircosmetology. king to much of a commitment. I love the way your hair turned out although I'm certainly not as dark with my natural hair as you are. Do you have an opinion on this I think some of my color shows in the picture although I realize it's not the same as in person My gray is not white white gray it's more of a gray gray... So I'm really not sure based on that what it might look like. I really would like to do something more caramel If possible which I know would be picked up in the gray. I have never used a gloss, I knew they were available but, it has been a while since I practiced cosmetology. Thank you for reading my question, I think You are a credit to the profession of cosmetology. 🌺
