Listen to the album Marshmallow Moondust by Antony Kalugin. One of the best albums of 2020! The album consists of two epics titled Marshmallow and Moondust. I’m looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos.

Definitely want to see some Dream Theater tier lists. As far as a band, you may want to check out the band Wilderun and their new record Epigone. I first heard about them a few weeks ago and think you would like them. I’ve heard them described as folk and progressive metal.

I have 3 requests for you, they are all considered to be in the progressive metal genere.
Pagans Mind with their song "New World order"
Communic, and their song, "waves of visual decay".
Circus Maximus, and their song, "Burn after reading"

I would suggest getting more deep into the Neal Morse catalog! He's in like 8 bands with Mike Portnoy. Solo, Transatlantic, Flying Colors... Then there's also the full body of work of Spock's Beard... But yeah, you did say you don't want to get stuck on 1-4 bands? Ok... Then how about the classics: Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Gentle Giant... Are you familiar with them? If that doesn't suffice, I would suggest bands like Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Freak Kitchen, Ayreon... There's lots to chew on those if you've not done them on the channel. :)

    hi there :)
I'm not sure you would like any of it but I would really love for you to check out my favorite band sukekiyo and the singer's main band Dir en grey. They are Japanese. sukekiyo can be more described as experimental music [mostly rock but they do have some metal/pop/electronic elements in later songs]. I would suggest starting with their first release Aftermath
    ua-cam.com/video/LReSG2IROhk/v-deo.html
Dir en grey have been around for 25 years now, have built an international fanbase and have been/are quite influential in Japan's Visual Kei scene [a music scene that combines music (mostly rock and metal) with visual elements and elaborate aesthetics]. They, too, have changed their style with every album. I know it's a long one but I also know you are not afraid of those so I would suggest the song macabre for a first reaction. This song was originally released in 2000 and will therefore show an early side of the band, while this version presents an extended remake of the song which they did in 2013. It also has a nice way to present all the members and coming from Dream Theater this might be the best sound of theirs to start with.

Thank you for the consideration, I hope you recovered well and fully and have a great weekend!

It is time for you to be introduced with one of the most important metal bands of all time, a band that created death metal but also had a major influence on progressive metal, DEATH... Death doesn't have a bad song, but i would suggest you to first listen to their later, more mature work... Symbolic and Sound of perseverance are monumental melodic and progressive death metal albums, all songs on these two albums have iconic riffs, solos, compositions, bass lines, mixed with technical and jazzy drumming, and amazing and powerful growl vocals.

Since you did Old Gods of Asgard - Children of the Eldergod a while back so I recommend Poets of the Fall (they are the irl band behind OGoA) so here it goes
Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust music video. The video was chosen as the best Finnish music video ever made. Then if you like the song I will drop a list of my favorite songs from them which will include many different genres because in my eyes their biggest strenght is their variety of sounds while still having true poetry in the songs

There are some bands that I highly recommend to you: Angra (you already did a lot), Avantasia, Helloween, Shaman, Viper, Andre Matos (solo), Symfonia.
And talking about songs, I would recommend Chalice of Agony (Avantasia), Pride (Shaman), Keeper of the Seven Keys (Helloween), Cry from the Edge (Viper) and Paradisum (Symfonia). All this songs have really good live versions, except for Paradisum... the only live recordings we have of this were made in phone cameras.

Look at Queensrÿche. I wrote to you in your other channel. I started listening to them before dream theater: There are videos of Mike Portnoy referencing Geoff Tate, former lead singer to Queensrÿche. I think you would enjoy it
