Collecting Pokemon Booster Packs is one of the most inexpensive parts of the Pokemon hobby you can start. You don't have to go all the way back to the original WOTC sets in order to start your collection and adding artsets of booster packs to your display will help grow your collection relatively quickly.
With how much product Pokemon is constantly releasing, collecting booster packs can be a fun, inexpensive part of the hobby to enjoy. Many Sword and Shield set Booster Packs are selling for below MSRP so building your collection is currently at the perfect time prior to the release of Scarlet and Violet.
In today's video, we dive a little deeper into collecting Pokemon booster packs and look over the market for Sun and Moon era packs. Many of these packs are still relatively inexpensive and it is much easier to keep a single pack sealed than a collection box of booster box. Do you collect sealed Pokemon booster packs?

I recently started putting away art sets of SM and XY era. Now that I've seen the framed collage, I may try to recreate that. Very cool!
Danny can you do a video that highlights different product types (3 pack, build & battle, etc) and their performance against the performance of a single booster pack? Maybe just the best selling sets or sets which have drastic disparities between products. I think it would be really cool to see how product lines differ depending on what’s produced throughout an expansions life cycle.

I believe that the tag team sets will be extremely sought after especially if Pokémon doesn’t do anything like this again. But collecting booster packs is sooo cool.

Yay!!! It's so interesting to see how much the booster packs grow in price. If I ever buy something like an older sealed collection box I always try to look up the price of the booster packs to see how far off the price is compared to just getting the packs. Thanks again Danny! :)

I have a glass curio that's 5 shelves, and I use a bunch of those plastic card stands for a row of my favorite sports cards, favorite charizards, favorite yugioh cards, vintage yugioh 1st ed booster packs, and bottom just random sealed. It looks really nice. I would def buy another if I had the space for it.

I started collecting art sets from sword and shield! Sun and Moon has some of my favorite cards with the Tag Team cards, but i haven’t tried collecting those booster packs just yet!

I have a pretty limited budget so I have to be picky about what I put away. For now I'm focusing on trying to have an ETB and booster box of each set coming out and any collection boxes that look promising. I don't currently have a system in place to store anything smaller. Maybe someday.
Hidden Fates and Celebrations are the next 2 sets to do what Shining Legends did. Absolutely skyrocket due to how unique the type of set they are. I was lucky enough to buy about $3500 worth of Shining Legends in 2018-2019 on clearance. Boy did that pay off.
Well done sir, I grabbed 105 boosters in riachu boxes 2 months before they went to 30 bucks, I won a watch there. I got back in doing hidden fates I put away 500 booster packs, roll on the future

@@ExposedBen Very smart. Hidden Fates is the only set I'm looking at buying a bunch more of soon since it's stagnated after that enormous early 2021 ETB reprint. I picked up a ton of sealed cases of Celebrations Collector Chests in 2021. With 8 packs and 3 vintage-inspired holo promos, I think that's the product that will 4x long term.

@@23evulp8 Not personally. Any extra money I have to spend on sealed product will go to Celebrations since it's both a special/holiday set (no booster boxes) and an anniversary set. On top of that, it contains vintage 1999-2004 reprints. As long as it's under double MSRP, I'll pick up more. I think it's going to explode right past Evolving Skies in value once this inexpensive supply dries up.

My current goal for collecting right now is a full collection of sun and moon art sets and 10 of each booster pack from SWSH and SV. Personally for me booster packs are my favorite aspect of collecting for me right now and this video is perfect for what my goals are

I have 1 sealed pack in my collection. I won a hidden fates pack from a UA-cam giveaway but I never got to open any of the set and figured I'd be better off keeping a single pack sealed. Prolly not a bad pack to have sealed tho lol

I started putting packs aside, but full art sets of packs is just too much. I'm more focusing on Japanese sealed, as they tend to only have 1 art per set :)

i love collecting booster boxes. Im stuck on the 36 packs now.
Its going to be hard selling sealed single booster packs though. Considering how easy it is to reseal them for modern packs especially.
I completely agree especially since most collectors know about weighting packs and such, there is less confidence in buying from a random seller promising you that it has "not been weighted or tampered".
Team up might be the best set to collect.

You'll be super upset if you open them. Worst pull rates of any set, maybe ever. Cool pack arts though.
Great video but you base some of the percentage changes on where it is from its one year high and others where it is from its one year low. Im sure you dont mean to be misleading but wouldn't it be better to base the percentages from where it was at the start of the year?
If you can I recommend buying a case of every set on release for as cheap as you can. Maybe open one or two boxes and keep some sealed. As you can see most sets go up in value. Even the crappy sets will make money. As long as you plan to hold them for several years you’ll be surprised.
If you're doing it as an investment, why would you open up any sealed product? It's no longer an investment once you do that...

Gives a great perspective on collecting booster packs, but if I were buying packs I would question if they were weighed by the seller. Might end up getting all overpriced dud packs...

Considering the insight and the amount of people who weigh packs, most singles packs are likely not going to have a hit, so the cards inside are very very cheap
People will find out that weighing english packs of modern sets is a waste of time....
