Honestly,the studio series toyline is a huge improvement over the original movie toylines,and optimus is a great exemple,along with ss aoe galvatron(even tho,some rotf,dotm and hunt for the decepticons still unique),i think this toy is a mini mpm,because of the accurate paintjob and design,i do wish if we can get a old bayverse toys with today's accuracy and engineering(like dotm skyhammer,rotf bludgeon and hunt for the decepticons seaspray and tomahawk and 2007 longarm and overcast etc.....)

Hot take, I think the 05 mold is better than the others. I think proportionally it looks cooler. I enjoy the transformation more. I also love the original colors for 05. The super dark colors I think look very cool and unique. This premium one does looks pretty damn good, may have to pick it up.

Ive bought the SS05 6022A KO version like a "premium finish" on ali express cuz he looks cool and many weapons for him, but the paint on Takaras is really good besides flames on feet cuz he hasnt the right parts on transformation, still i really like the HftD mold (AD12) with has awesome truck and good robot. And it fits really well in Studio Series but this mold has cons too. Idk but all figures of Prime has pro and cons but anyway no "perfect figure in 2022. We need something like downsize mpm04 as a leader with good truck and bot and great articulation. That is what an Optimus Prime deserve in my opinion.

Oh god this Optimus looks gorgeous. I've always wanted a bayverse Optimus but it had to be one from the first three movies as I'm not a fan of his robot mode from the last two movies. Definitely gonna get this guy sometime. I'm quite pleased to see he's about voyager class size as right now that's the class size I like the most.
I have the star leader take of this figure, he comes with multiple faces and has die cast parts. For the price can't beat it, but that repaint is really sweet too

This is a tad off topic, but I took a look at your ROTF Megatron, and it doesn't seem that you know about the cannons being able to act as gap fillers in the backpack. If you untab the arms and hinge back the backpack, you can swing the cannons into the waist, and close it back up. (you may encounter a small bit of resistance the first time, but I know it is indeed possible, and I do it regularly. Or who knows, maybe you do already know this, and just prefer the look of the cannons on his back.

So far I have picked up three premium finish figures: Optimus and VW Bee from the Bumblebee movie because I missed the original Studio Series releases of both of them; and Siege Starscream because of an OCD need for a complete set of Tetrajet mold releases. The paint and look of them all is AMAZING once you get them in hand. Almost good enough to get me to repurchase other figures.
I was actually skipping the SS bayverse optimus prime's since they weren't very good, despite being very posable, both 05/32 molds. for 05 the robot mode wasn't that good and for 32/44 the truck wasn't that good, and I dont like the feet hanging on the trailer bed but this deco on 05 really intrigues me and I wish they would've done it on SS 32/44 mold and also I thought his truck mode was too small. we are getting a SS knockoff of optimus based on his 32 mold but with the folding wheel arches so I might be getting that.
I got this figure like a few days ago and I think the peices lock in really well on mine figure it is probably an issue for your figure when I first opened him up the front grill of the truck did not locked into place it I thought it was an issue but it was something good takara made the the place where the front grill locks too tight so It required a bit of force for me to lock it into place but after that it never fell off try using some force to the front grill and I was also scared that it will break or not when first used a bit of force on the front grill but no it will not break

What’s sad is that a lot of the early studio series and Netflix like prime figures got gimped by that silly safety rule which shortened their smokestacks, which makes little sense since apparently SS38 and every prime onward didn’t get that memo since their smoke stacks are huge. Heck even the re issue of the G1 prime of 2018 got the tall smokestacks back so really SS05, SS32, and earthrise prime deserved to have longer smoke stacks right from the start.
Not into the Bayverse stuff but the Premium finish Siege Starscream is amazing, the colors are great, plastic quality is top notch, tolerances are perfect, all on top of the best seeker mold they’ve done. I would gladly spend that money again to get the quality that it gave. I really want to see where the line goes from here
siege starscream suffers from few yellowing parts at bicep swivel and calves area. which kinda disappointing for a figure that has that amazing paintjob.
@@zafrialbar1359 I haven’t seen any yellowing on any siege seeker mold other then the White shattered glass version. So not sure what your talking about but the premium finish version definitely hasn’t yellowed at all and I’m not worried about it at all
I use the original ROTF SS-05 as a battle-damaged Optimus Prime after the Forest Battle, my only complaint is that the original doesn't have a face, since Megatron kicked his faceplate off in the fight.

So I had this guy on preorder, then I picked up a ko of ss 05 that came with longer smoke stacks and ALL the weapons. I thought ok this can be my movie prime 🤔 left dude on preorder as I was going back and forth....theeeeen the box set went up for the first movie bots and I needed enough of them input them on preorder....two voyager movie primes yup it was time to cancel the preorder. The paint looks great though, just not 60 dollars great.
Why did use this version they should’ve done the 32/44 version instead. Let’s hope they use the 32/44 version for a premium finish with one little detail by using the legs on this figure since the red folds around the tire on his ankles and of course paint the upper part blue and make it more accurate to the movie. Let’s also hope they find a way to fold the feet into the back like making it look like truck

while the retool they released for this studio series prime looks fantastic, I still dont hear enough people commending this figure as much as it deserves, its not perfect and has some issues, but it is far from a bad prime movie figure
Ironhide is way too big, and maybe SS13/31 RotF Megatron, SS54 2007 Megatron, SS90 AoE Galvatron, SS06 Starscream, SS35 RotF Jetfire, and SS08 Blackout are all a little too small as well...because only SS34 DotM Megatron looks like it's in proper robot mode scale compared to the SS05/32/44 and/or HftD Battle Blade Optimus mold. As for this...okay, SS32 & SS44 (I have SS44) ain't much better at the transformation. But you have to be careful with them: SS32's truck grille is clear plastic painted silver, and SS44's truck grille is a stupidly thin blue plastic painted silver; the tab that connects the halves is easily busted, thus leaving a slight gap in the grille in truck mode...and there's *_NOTHING_* that can be done about it. Not sure if SS05 had that same problem. Personally, I'm in the camp that says it should've been the SS32 or SS44 versions of the mold to get this treatment...and I am in complete agreement on that.
Fun fact: I always thought of 05 SS Prime as Prime after he got Forced Heart Surgery done by Megatron for mainly 3 reasons: Firstly, it's specificaly a ROTF figure not judt the first movie it specifies ROTF, secondly it also put it in the forest battle with the backdrop and the text on the bag of the box and lastly the colors are very dark like stupid dark almost blackish and when Prime died in the film he gets darker in color. This would also explain why his two chest pieces (front of the truck+truck windows) are so apart from each others

Baiwei also has a "metallic version" of the SS05 KO, the paint job rivals the Premium Finish with only the yellow parts on the flame missing
