- Watch this video to see the Thames Path around Wallingford in Oxfordshire, and Painbourne in Berkshire located in the beautiful Thames Valley, England. (Parts of the River Thames were flooded at the time, so it was impossible to walk along the Thames Path.)
Wallingford is the final home of Dame Agatha Christie, a renowned crime novelist, short story writer, and playwright. She lived in Wallingford for over 40 years until she died in 1976. There is a statue of her on the green in the historic market town situated on the River Thames, a picturesque location known for its crossing for animals and people.
Wallingford is also the original location of Causton, the home of Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby in the popular TV series Midsomer Murders.
In this video, you'll also see Pangbourne Meadow, a large grassy meadow with a children's play area, that hosts summer recreation, picnics, and the annual Pangbourne village fete.
Wallingford Castle Gardens with the castle ruins, Pangbourne Toll Bridge in West Berkshire, and the town centre of both Wallingford and Painbourne.
