Joyce Barnaby: no one on TV quite like her. Whilst husband John struggles to bring villains to heel, Joyce floats on another plain. her thoughts miles away from major income earner John. .....village fates, flower arranging, husband nagging, house moving, holiday hunting; all in an episodes work fro Joyce...but there's something reassuringly right about Joyce....she's the quintessential village resident acceptable to Vicar and village rascal alike. Without her, the village edifice would fall apart!
I thought it got a bit silly how she was into some new hobby, club or interest each week which rather conveniently became connected with all the murders.
I think it may have been specially made just for this documentary to kind of parody the original theme. Copyright laws can get complicated where if a production company, other than the one who owns a show, creates a presentation cannot necessarily legally use a copyright theme song without permission. I think that's the case here. The Andy Griffith had something similar happen where a boxed set of public domain episodes came out released by a company other than Danny Thomas Enterprises used a parody theme song in the beginning credits because the original song itself had a separate copyright. That sounds like what they did here.
The locations they found were one of the best aspects of the show.
I absolutely love this series .
I can watch it again and againl
