We have a wonderful day of antique shopping in our local village, La-Chartre-sur-le-Loir, a Mecca for car enthusiasts and also a village full of antique stores and brocantes. Even better, it's the 100 Year Anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hour Race, and we see many beautiful antique and modern cars. ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our daughter, and -whenever possible- lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and -of course- antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

Vivienne and Simon......I just watched both of Stephanie's episodes on her two channels and in both she shows views of the outside of your Chateau from angles I have never seen before. These angles show even more how beautiful your Chateau is. Just stunning views!!!! The two bedrooms you offered them (and watched you create) are equally stunning in the finished state. I remember the episode when you arrived home after an extended stay away from your Chateau and friends had "weeded out" ( dare I say hatchet job) your roses. When you showed the aftermath, no matter how much you tried to smile, I could see the true disappointment in your eyes. But that seems those feelings should be long gone now .......your roses and roses and roses are simply..... STUNNING!!!!!!

This is definitely one of the most beautiful chateaus I have seen; and I watch a lot of chateau channels. I can imagine that, if the original owners could return to see how you care for their home more than 100 years later, they would not be disappointed, It truly is a fairytale chateau of old in all ways.

Very nice vlog, many thanks. You are right to see the Vintage Bentley as expensive ... Known as the "Blower Bentley' - as it was fitted with a supercharger. (the big silver bit at the front) depending on provenance between one and five million sterling. The same cars raced and won at Le Mans in the very early 1930s, driven by Tim Birkin amongst others.

You are the most attentive host in your beautiful home and garden and definitely deserve an accolade for actually doing all the preparations yourself instead of relying on staff or volunteers like so many. Could I possibly suggest that the new title for this channel could be be Chateau love and Paris life, which conveys the same message but in a more striking way ?!
Nothing wrong with having ‘staff or volunteers’ - especially if you’re trying to renovate a large chateau!

Thank you so much for appreciating the hard work. It’s a labour of love, but there is a little real labour involved! I love your new name ideas. We were all brainstorming this week and it was a bit complicated! As for help, I would love to have some sometimes, and it was necessary at our former chateau. The big ones require multiple people helping. But, as you have so kindly noted, even the little ones do take some effort! 🥰🏰💖

Vivienne, your roses are gorgeous! I grow roses too but constantly battle Blackfoot. Your roses look Blackfoot free. What do u use on them? They are beautiful! Also, I am so excited about the channel including your life in Paris!! So wonderful!
Hi Blake! We use ash from the fireplaces, a bonemeal mix, and occasionally we do have to spray for fungal infections as they has ravaged some of our other plants (especially the laurel hedges). Often the rose issues become more evident after the first flush, and then it’s a race of treating the leaves, deadheading, watering…. La Vie en Rose indeed!! 😂😂🥰💖
@@ChateauLove thank you!! Spellcheck changed black spot to Blackfoot! I have the same situation here in Ga. My roses begin black spot free but as the summer progresses, it appears! I too have to use a fungal spray. Thank you for the tips!

I have heard parts of France have water restrictions due to the drought over there. I sure hope we all get rain soon!
