So Madonna, love the glamour, the over the top sexuality, it's giving me life! Madam, you look great. I hope you get to see her live on this tour! Keeping positive thoughts for you!

She did this performance twice: for the MTV music awards ( 6th september 1990) and for the Commitment to life IV - Los Angeles Aids project benefit ( she was honored with the award the following nigth, on 7th) . The dancers are the same as the Blond Ambition tour and Vogue official video). Curiosity: she wears the same costume used by Glenn Close on the movie "Dangerous Liaisons" ( 1988 ).
How cool would it be if she redid this routine for her new tour. I’d pass out from excitement.

I remember this when it happened,. live on the TV. I had just started my Senior year in high school and Madonna was a complete ICON. This performance was mind blowing at the time - one of those hand-to-cheeks-omg-I-am-gagging moments. Standards were set.

I had an extra ticket to MDNA... sold it on the street for $20 even though it costed $300. So.. it's possible. I wanted more, but the show was starting so soon and it was the only offer I got. The guy I sold it to ended up actually attending the concert sitting right next to me and just sat there, unamused the whole time:) Luckily I won Golden Triangle tickets for the show the next day and had the time of my life!
You shouls see her live performance at the VMA's Like A Virgin 1985. EVERYBODY was talking about it the next day!!

What an amazing time for all of us Madonna fans! It's been quite a week and yes, I got two tickets for the two nights in seattle, can't wait! I really hope you can get tickets and go to any of the shows coming up. Luckily, they're going to be a lot of dates this time on like madamex which was harder to see. This performance is so amazing and I remember watching it when it was live on MTV awards, everyone was talking about it the next day it was just the top news and everyone wanted to see what she would do. Especially after the HBO broadcast of the blonde ambition tour, there seem to be no stopping our queen! Big hugs!
It wasn't really rehearsed, they just did blonde ambition choreography. This performance was planned in Paris at the wrap party for Blonde Ambition literally Madonna, Niki and Donna were just talking about what to do for the show. Niki tossed out the whole French thing... The costumes weren't made for them they're literally off the shelf from a costume house and were originally from the Glenn Close movie Dangerous Liaisons... Bonus fun fact, the girls over dubbed the snapping fan sounds precisely for the dramatic effect.

This show wasn't controversial at the time.. People were so shocked 🤣 From the music video Justify My Love and the Blond Ambition tour, that this performance seemed to them to be from the Victorian era 😊
But in any case, I agree with you that this is an amazing show by any measure. I have no doubt that if MTV were to broadcast this performance today, it would be just as impressive and relevant.
Finally, an anecdote - the amazing clothes that Madonna wears in this performance were passed on to her by Glenn Close, after they were sewn especially for her in the studios in Los Angeles, for her role in the movie Dangerous Liaisons. Since then they have remained friends.

I was lucky enough to get tickets. I wasn't planning on going due to the outrageous prices but the day the tickets went on sale I was really bummed because I've always wanted to see Madonna do a greatest hits Tour & So when my husband got home from work the day the tickets went on sale & he said "Oh I wanna show you something on my phone, he hands me his phone & it's the 2 tickets. I was so shocked & what was even more shocking is that he got us floor seats right at the stage. We are seeing her in Boston MA on Aug 31st & we are Floor section D Row 3. This will be Madonna's 12th Tour & The Celebration/Greatest Hits Tour will be my 11th Tour. The ONLY Tour I missed was her very 1st Tour other than that I've been to her WTGT 1987, BAM 1990, TGS 1993, DWT 2001, RIT 2004, Confessions 2006, S&S 2008, MDNA 2012, RHT 2015, MXT 2019, Celebration Tour 2023. I Can't wait to see this show.
I am extremely lucky, as of right now yes I will be going in September to Los Angeles. Vogue is always awesome. If you can find it you should find the Express Yourself/She's Not Me from the MDNA tour......were she throws a little bit of shade lol.

If you get a chance to see her "Blonde Ambition" concert in 1990 (there was a televised concert from the French Riviera) and/or watch her Truth or Dare documentary film - all the dancers and back up singers from this performance are on that tour. All her choreography with the dancers was phenomenal.

When I was growing up Madonna gave me a lot of confidence to face the world and live my life. She made me feel I had a place in the world. I still listen to her but I am not a super fan as such anymore. I think the album that I love the most is probably the soundtrack for Dick Tracy. I know it’s not a popular choice but I love it.

I don't think the reason Madonna chose to lip-synch this performance was because she had laryngitis. I think it was part of her homage to the gay ballrooms in New York, where 'Voguing' was born - and where lip-synching was made into an art form. LOVE your Madonna reactions Madam. You are amazing XXX

I know, I feel bad for him. I saw her last five tours I won’t miss one, I got my tickets for this one, I would love for him to experience his first Madonna concert with me but I just bought a house, so I don’t have as much extra money right now. I did tell him to sell the Finally enough love box that instead of giving it away so he could use that money to buy his concert ticket lol😂 but he won’t. If some of us would like to pull together to get him a ticket I would be down
I was about 17 when this aired and I actually didn't like it. I thought why is she wearing crusty old people's clothes? The whole vibe just seemed lame and uncool. I have grown to appreciate it a lot over the years though and love it now.
