I have often heard to buy the cheapest tools you can. Then, when you break one, replace it with a good quality one. If you never replace it, you are money ahead.

  • @almightyracing

When I warranty through Tekton I didn’t have to send anything in but a picture of the tool. It was so easy they sent an email saying it was on the way almost instantly

Snap-On makes some of the best tools available, however, jjust owning them doesn't make you a great tech, knowledge and ability, does.

  • @FatdaddysGarage

Wright Tools makes an amazing set of combination wrenches. Comparable to Snap-On.

If comes down to woman or snap on, snap on wins.when the woman is out of your life all that money is gone however the snap on our other tools is worth at least 50% of what u paid for it.I’ve been a mechanic for 45 years and still have all my mostly snap on tools

I went 12 years only buying the bare minimum snap on. Over the past 2 years I went absolutely crazy replacing old and ugly stuff with snap on. I enjoy my tools more now. I look forward to walking to my cart and having nice, clean tools that feel nice in the hand. What’s even nicer is I have snap on tools that were still functional but looked well worn. My rep offered to warranty things out every so often. I just got hammer sets in foam and he swapped out my 10 year old soft tip dead blow for spending money. My hammer drawer is about to bet bougie as F with all the HI-Viz foam.

In my personal experience I've broken cheap tools plenty so for me things that i use everyday i spend the money for snap on or mac. Nothing wrong with starting with HF they make decent tools for the money. I always say buy once cry once

Dude, I appreciate your expertise and integrity. I'm going to subscribe to your channel just because you come across as honest and genuine and that's hard to find these days. I'm 66 years old and I would be proud to have a son of your caliber. I respect the fact that you're trying to help out the new mechanic that wants to succeed. John 3; 16 I'll bet you know it.

Terrible advice on so many accounts

  • @IRONMAIDENISTRASH

Wish I would've seen this video when i got in the industry lol I also never thought I would need huge wrenches until they started having me do alignments on trucks.. 30mm wrench... on a toyota rav4.. I bought pittsburgh for the larger wrenches for the normal sizes. 6mm to 19mm I have Mac tools percesion torque set.. they work great.. no rounding tie rod bolts off

I've been a heavy duty diesel mechanic for about a year habor freight tekton capri and astro pneumatic husky gearwrench even ebay I have had good deals on matco

  • @ironclaw6969

Small correction with the Tekton warranty. Usually you do not need to send them in, their warranty page asks for 3 things. A picture of the broken tool, an optional text description and the address to ship it to on their dime. In fact, the warranty is one of the reasons most of my newer tools are Tekton.

Impact sockets,Grey Pnuematic and Sunex are two other choices.I have one hammer I bought from Tractor Supply Company, a pro grade that has held up well for me for over 10 years

I'm in a funny spot. I got hired as a truck driver for an equipment rental place that also does service.

  • @neilmays6744

    Can’t agree more

  • @bluesun6229

On point. Love the video. Tools are subjective. Everyone has different needs or intentions with their tools. Sure if you have the money by the best of what ever.

  • @juanzavala4456

That’s what I tell the new guys on the shop , good recommendations man👍

  • @Maxx1676

Great video... I`m an old tired mechanic.

  • @speedster-qe1nj

I agree with most suggestions however adapters, extentions and torx buy quality impact rated. I don't recommend cheaper options because they will always break and bot worth the hassle or head ache
