When he recited the Lord's prayer in " Salems Lot" when the lady vampire was waking up. That scene and the Glick boy at the scratching at the window scared our television nation.
I'm tearing up again. David was my tv boyfriend growing up and even continuing after my marriage. I bought S&H memorabelia, went to Cons, met life long friends through the fandom, chose the name "hutchlover' as my fandom name - even for other fandoms, watched the show over & over. I still have some original artwork of Hutch that I couldn't bear to part with. I'm just gutted.
Same..my first real t.v crush. I was a member of the S+H fan club but lost all the magazines and memorabilia😢. Listened to his Music too. Time has gone so fast, I held back the tears all day until I heard Going in with my eyes open. What a great loss for us real fans, I will 😢 with you💔
The Starsky and Hutch TV show raised me and Starsky was my TV dad. Years later I was there for an online RPG startup based on the TV show and as we all were discussing the game and who would be who, a couple thought I'd want Starsky and I couldn't, that was my TV dad, I just couldn't and then I was offered Hutch. I went back through the eps (I have the DVD sets) and studied my TV dad's best friend. I took the part and the biggest compliment I got was being told (by several) that when my posts were read they could hear David/Hutch s voice in their head. It was an honor to be in that game (no idea if the logs are still up, I fell out of touch with the Starsky player) and it gave me a unique connection to that character. I cried hard when I read he had passed, I'm tearing up now thinking about it. This character and actor was such a part of my childhood in so many ways and then later the honor of being that character in an RPG game, my (TV) dad's best friend. I know I probably sound weird .. Oh and yes I fell in love with the Gran Torino and it was my childhood dream car and I finally owned a very show accurate 1974 replica for about 10 years through the aughts. I scrounged up a decent bomber jacket like Starsky's as well as a similar brown leather/pleather blazer Hutch wore sometimes. I was a member of a Starsky and Hutch forum for a while and would post things about my Striped Tomato. One of the members was passing through my area in vacation and asked to see the car. I happily obliged. I kicked it up a bit on the drive and she loved it. As we parted ways she handed me the season 2 boxes set of the show DVDs as a thank you. That just blew me away. RIP Hutch.
@@Starscreamf15 I actually TOUCHED the leather jacket. It's in poor shape, but owned by a fan who has it (or had it) framed. Paul sold it to raise funds for the EGPAF. I used to RPG as Huggy. For some reason, I 'got' Huggy's cadence and slang. Starsky was always a problem for me when writing fan fic. Not Hutch or Huggy.
@@Zebra_3 YEAH, HUGGY BEAR WAS 7O's groovy cool - lol... thanks for setting me straight, i thought that was snoop dogg in the early days - hehehe thanks Zebra :)
My mother who is a huge Fan of Starsky and Hutch got me into this show. Very popular here in the UK 🇬🇧. David Soul was brilliant as Hutch. So sad to hear of his death. My heart goes out to his friends and family. #RIPDavidSoul
David Soul's career as a stage actor in the UK is worth remembering. I saw him in 2006 at the Criterion Theatre, London, in a revival of Jerry Herman's "Mack and Mabel". The role of Mack Sennett is not a very sympathetic one, but David Soul invested it with just enough charm to make it work and he sang beautifully.
Well miss you David. You left a Legacy like no other Actor. S&H was the best Cop show for the Era. I still think about it now 45 years after going on TV. It will never be forgotten. 😍Not only that your was Trend Setter with all your different styled Jackets on the Show.
He was definitely a gorgeous blonde haired handsome guy oh yes he was..remember that show he played on also? Before Starsky and Hutch..Here Come the Brides...loved that show too! You'll be missed David!
The cop shows of the 70’s were the best in my opinion and Starsky and Hutch was the best. The early episodes were gritty with interesting stories, and of course the Gran Torino! I was in high school when the show started but a few years later I bought a 74’ Gran Torino. I loved that car! Rest In Peace David, you meant a lot to many people 🙏🙏
GMA !!!! You forgot to mention his cult classic hit!!!! Salem's Lot!!!! One of my favorites, up there with. Fright night, and the Lost boys. Thank you for remembering him.
I had such a crush on David back in the day. It's funny, but I just watched a couple episodes of Starsky and Hutch a few days ago. I am heartbroken. It was a great show. Thanks for the memories David.
Thanks for introducing me to this amazing man mama I know you were a huge David Soul fan but I appreciate you sharing your memories with me I'm really going to miss you both very much rest in peace mama and David ❤❤😢😢 life will never be that good again 😔
Goodbye Mr. Soul. You were a big influence in many people’s life when you portrayed Police Detective Ken Hutchinson. My generation loved and respected the relationships played out in that television show. As well as being great entertainment, I learned about things as well. You and Paul Michael Glaser have something special, something that will never leave either of you. Thank you. Captain Dobey, take it easy on him, he’s a good guy.
Oh, the childhood memories. I have very few good childhood memories, but watching this show gave me something to look forward to and to esape with. RIP, David.
I grew up watching David in Starksy and Hutch and hearing his music but will always remember him most fondly as Ben Mears in Tobe Hoopers wonderful adaptation of Salem's Lot. RIP ❤
I never really watched Starksy and Hutch when I was a kid ...but when I was in High School "Salems Lot" came out as a mini series...He was PHENOMENAL in that role....especially in the "Popsicle Sticks Cross Scene"...still scary, still one of my favorites...What a great actor.
He was such a good actor and singer. Very beautiful voice. He was my crush as the first day S&H aired on T.V here in France. Loved the 2 but David was my favorite 😊. Been folllowing his carreer since then. Will always treasure all his L.P, singles and photos and glad to have the DVD box set of the entire S&H seasons+ some VHS with movies and interviews from UK and US. RIP David 🙏

One of the three Bolt Brothers, Jason, Joshua, and Jeremy Bolt who lived on Bridal Veil Mountain. He played the brother of Jason Brown & Bobby Sherman on the show Jason, Bobby Sherman is the lone survivor. Please pass this info on to your viewers. Thank you
Definitely one of the greats. I was a bit young for Starsky and Hutch but I still remember that cool car and the massive popularity of the show in the 70’s. I did however really enjoy his memorable performance as one of the vigilante cops in “Magnum Force” and later on as the bank robber in “The Line of Duty” tv movie.
The fact that he was on Star Trek, wow! His great performance on Salem's Lot! Stood up to " Dirty Harry" and could sing. David you were an unsung hero, God Bless you and your family.

I grew up watching him. S & H were my favourite detectives Love you so much. Love your beautiful velvet voice. Rest in peace our lovely Hutch! World lost a legend!
I remember him playing a vigilante motorcycle police officer with Clint Eastwood in Magnum Force. I heard of the show Starsky and Hutch but hardly ever watched it. I remember him starring with Michael Gross in The FBI murders. I heard that he could sing. He seemed to have quite a vocal talent. I think that his music, movies and memories will live on forever
