You always hear that actors are so good together on screen but actually hate each other in real life. It is great to hear that they were truly best friends. That makes watching the show today even better. Growing up in the 70's like I did, THIS was the best show on. R.I.P. David. You'll be missed.
I agree!!! I couldn't get everything hooked up in my new home and the first thing I looked for was Starsky and Hutch and you just know I followed them throughout the years and I love their real friendship and brotherly love. These two are the best and I know Paul is feeling lost and brokenhearted and naturally his family but you get my point. This is so sad... praying for all, even you and the others. We are like family. 💞

Like in the USA back in the 1970's, the UK, we also only had 3 tv channels, so it was an event in my household in London, thanks David RIP Your Soul has gone heaven!

I had no idea David died till I started reading the comments. This was my favorite show. I remember getting so mad if anyone made a noise when I was watching it. I loved these 2 and had their pictures plastered all over my walls!! I have a few paperbacks with the story in book form and i still have David's records. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and to Paul. Brought back so many great memories watching them every week. RIP David 🙏❤️
David seemed very well spoken and yet unassuming and humble. Hutch was always my favorite, though I adore Starsky too, and what made that show so incredible, even over decades, is their dynamic friendship. David will be deeply missed. 😢

I grew up watching Starsky and Hutch in the UK. I really looked forward to each episode coming out and I’m so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I also enjoyed his hits, “Don’t give up on us baby’’ and “Silver lady.” Rest In Peace.

Had a true friendship in my teens, and early twentys, that was like Starsky & Hutch. We were close, and always had each other's back, no matter what. Ironically, I now own a 1974 Ford Gran Torino. R.I.P. Mr. Soul, thank you for the great memories of you!

Sad to hear passing of David Soul. I grew upin the 70s and remember tbe series very well. My younger sister used to jump for joy when 'Huggy Bear'(Antonio Fargas) appeared on screen.

When this show was broadcasted for the first time in France, i was 10 years old (1978). With my parents, We didn't miss a single episode, broadcast on French TV on Sunday afternoons.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of David soul . My best friend and I were called starsky and hutch going to school in the 1970s in Wilmington nc we even dressed like them . I was starsky . And yes it was the genuine friendship between David and Paul that made that show so great. And the cherry tomato car was great too! My friend and I are still the best of friends today. Thank you Mr soul for all the memories.
I too was Starsky and my best friend was Hutch...we were 9 and 10 years old then...never missed a show...then we would play act the show as well as make up our own episodes if you will. Ahh the good ole days...such fun, innocent, and imaginative! RIP Hutch...Partners Always
Remembering an icon of Primetime tv. Actor David Soul. For decades, we glue to the tv as a kid watching the actor series Starsky & Hutch with his good pal Paul Michael Glaser. Most recently a singer in such great tune including the one hit Don't Give Up On Us, Baby which was a song that inspired not the episode. His wife said in a statement that following a valiant battle, he was being remember by fans and the members of the ABC Family. The Walt Disney Company honors a Thursday primetime star that followed Charlie's Angels forever and for the loving company of his family. Survived by 6 children including China and their parents Dr. Richard and June Solberg, David Soul was 80 years old....and who remembers this bid of British humor?

I loved Starsky and Hutch when I was in high school, so much that a few years later I bought a Ford Gran Torino, I loved that car! David was also great in Magnum Force as one of the rogue motorcycle cops killing of the bad guys which Clint liked that premise for the 2nd of the Dirty Harry movies. Wow, time goes by so fast, too fast. Rest In Peace David🙏

Of the four vigilante cops in _Magnum Force,_ only one now remains alive. Hal Holbrook, who played their crooked boss, is also gone. Tim Matheson is the last remaining vigilante.

I think it was the relationship that showed the friendship, love, caring and chemistry between Paul/Starsky & David/Hutch that taught us all how to love, caring & friendship. The fact that Paul & David remained friends all these years attest to this fact! Something we are lacking in this day and age. We will all miss David but he will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to David's wife Helen, all his family, and friends especially Paul Michael Glaser!❤❤

I discovered them as a child when I saw toys of the car in my teenage years it played in french on reruns every friday night summer schedule and I watched the show.
Bought the entire box set at the flea market for cheap and Im rediscovering the show.

I grew up watching Starsky & Hutch❤. I remember when the show came on at night. My Parents would be in mine & my 2 Sisters bedroom. Watching the Show together. I Love the song that Hutch sang, 🎵 Don't give up on us Baby. Starsky big poster, was on my bedroom wall, I had a crush on him.❤

Once again we are remembering David Soul a cop on Starsky & Hutch who died Friday surrounded by family during his valiant battle. The 80 year-old actor made his comment in the ET Vault from Paramount Television Years back in 2004 thanks to his song "Don't Give Up On Us, Baby". this is what told E.T. the way he remember the hit crime show right after Charlie's Angels.

My grandmother first introduced me to David soul in Salem's lot she didn't think I would like it but i actually did that was literally the same year David did this interview and i had been a fan ever since we actually enjoyed the remake simply because David and Paul made cameos in it and lastly my grandmother found David's debut album in the thrift store and we bought it and enjoyed It very much don't give up on us was my grandmother's favorite song and black bean soup was mine I even followed the recipe it was the second dish i ever made as an adult and it was quite delicious i use to make it every year on David's Birthday just a fun tradition i started in 2006 this year will be no different except for the absence of David and my grandmother she's been gone almost six years now 😢😢

Born in 67. Used to watch this and Hawaii Five O religiously in the 70s when I was a kid.
I had a little cry when i heard on the TV news that David had died, it just goes to show what a powerful effect watching David and Paul as Starsky and Hutch had on me even after all these years since i watched the original show in the 1970's.
Aww definitely David has been a steady presence..and a humble man..much loved and missed x
