It must have given George immense pleasure to see years of his hard work manifested in an impromptu composition by a trained musician. Kind of like knowing that you raised awesome kids before setting them free into the world.
I dig this trend of keyboard beds offering more opportunity/options for expression. And *all* keyboards should come with a ribbon controller! 🙂 Well done!
Georgie has brought such a touch to the synth world. Killer performance! Totoro would have jammed this ~ That's what the instrument deserves! Killer job UDO
Love that you do the artists series now - that was a huge thing for the Osmose release. Also George is like one of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable synth designers, like a Dave Smith of the 2020s, I hope to see a lot more from you! (maybe even a revival of the rack-synths? The Super Gemini is just way too big for my desk)
CS80 Renaissance Synthesizer reborn as the Super Gemini! A future classic. Timely. For performance and performers. Designed and built by a true musician and not a boardroom engineer!
Guys, excellent idea, both synth and Georgie are a beautiful pairing, lovely stuff, you knocked Moog one off from my “if I could have any single synth” wish list, gorgeous!
"once you hit a note that's it" Maybe that's true on an analog piano, but hit a note, grab a knob, use aftertouch...on almost any synth...there are a million things you can do after hitting that note!
I still felt like I was waiting to see videos with a bit more "musicality" in them for this synthesiser - rather than merely demonstrating the admittedly mind-blowing levels of expressivity you can get through tweaking the different parameters, but rarely accompanied by playing any "real" music. At least, there is something along these lines 5 and a half minutes into this video - sounding absolutely superb! I look forward to the other videos in this series :)
@@xiaoxia5 Yes, I love Matt's videos - his one on the Super 6 was exceptional. Ultimately, I ended up getting a Hydrasynth (which I love), but I am keen to break out of the "margarine" of digital synths, and get into the "butter" of analogue ones! I love what UDO have done so far. I am interested in seeing who the other artists in this mini-series are going to be!
Certainly! The CS80 produces a distinct sound when you apply effects to it, just like many other synths from the 70s and 80s. This one is an amazing synth.
I love videos like this, but I'd love to see this used in a more practical setting. Slap a drum machine onto it. Make a jam with it. Show us how practical it is in real life aside from the space experimental sounds.
Where have UDO said they have abandoned the Super 6? They’ve just released a new colour for Christ’s sake 😂 The architecture of both synths is fairly similar so I expect updates for years to come.
@@Phunkm0nk thank you, I didn’t know that actually. In UDO’s defence, this is a tiny company atm so I expect resources were focused in the Gemini. I guess, once they have built up the staffing expertise, time will tell how committed they are to updates for their lineup.
I love my S6. Its the best synth I own hands down. Its cuts through a mix like butter, but can be dreamy whimsical. I mentioned before they are a small company and I respect that. I'm just venting on the internet I suppose so I can be heard lol. It just needs a few things to make it tighter with our DAW's n such. I know one (firmware) is coming, we just don't know when thats all.@@jontip

What an incredible, beautiful instrument. I would be lucky to even see one with my eyes in my lifetime.
It's only $4500. Not completely out of reach.
What a gorgeous synthesizer, both sonically and visually 🔥
I love the old Nintendo controller colour scheme.
The gorgeous smile at 6 minutes in says it all, like a kid in the candy store. Didn't know this lady, but she's a gem. Nice video: makes me smile 🙂
At 6 minutes in you see the top of her head.
I love my Super 6 but this one is really tempting. Congratulations for this masterpiece of a instrument!

Fantiastic @udo_audio, I hope this is a series because what a brilliant way to show off the new synth. Kudos to Georgie for being awesome.
Georgie Ward is dancing over the keys. So nice and beautiful. And one more great presentation of this synth masterpiece 👍.
You gave a very generous life to the instrument, thank you.
CS-80 philosophy... allowing the synthesizer (polyaftertouch, velocity, ribbon, splits etc..) to be as good as its user / player / performer is.

It's not a re-release of the Yamaha CS80 that everyone wanted, but THAT ribbon controller.
It's unbelievable, can't wait for mine!
Looking dapper, Mr Hearn 🔥
Very nice! Sounds great!
Beautiful instrument and even more beautiful performance!
That performance at 7 minutes, was sublime
What a synth, what a demo!
this is how to present an instrument. with skill and passion.
Crazy awesome synth. I could buy the instrument, but I can't buy the skill to use it like she does!

What an amazing synth and what a great idea to have such a talented artist show it off. 🙂
I will own one of these someday!
Wonderful demo 👏👏🎶
That touch strip is so neat.
Good thing I'm bald already! This thing will blow your hair clean off!😂
😂
As demonstrated in the video 😂😂😂😂
@@sgmaelstrom Hope you're wearing a helmet bud!
Loved this! Well done :)
This is beautiful

When is it gonna be available? I’ve preordered but the wait is agonising 😂
Yeah... Oh... So coool... Oh.. Yeahh
OMG send me one!! :D
Oh. Hell. Yeah.
I'd like to know how well this ribbon will withstand wear and tear over time.
Have you ever worn out a cell phone touchscreen?
i'm not good Keyboard Player... However, I want one. My very own synth since 1991.
Nice 👍
@udo_audio Is a desktop version coming any time soon?
The looks of the synth aren't my thing (although it looks really solidly built), but the sounds emanating from that thing....amazing.

that's why i'm waiting for Matt Johnson to do a video using the SG.

Me trajo recuerdos de los juegos de zelda
This machine is cold to the touch but I know it has a warm heart in there...
Sounds more CS80 than a CS80. Who needs a DAW

can you do binaural on one layer and mono on another?
Absolutley!

We're going to jam with the Super Gemini this weekend! I can't wait!
😮
I hope, the manual is very comprehensive.
The super 6 manual is very detailed
How much for your grey sound creator?
Awesome playing, but enough of the pads. I'm ready to hear some cutting 1990-era Front Line Assembly bass lines out of this thing!💀🤖😂
Gemini. Twin. 2 super sixes in one box?
4500 usd
What’s different? Definitely still lacking a basic screen 🥸
For me the lack of screen is a good thing. I have one of these already and I can say that I never have felt like a wanted a screen
Man, can George just leave the room so someone else can enjoy the bloody synthesizer for for heaven sake. 😂
Fair
My dolphins are dying.
Man, so sad that you've abandoned the Super 6 and its user base. Thanks for making us feel very isolated and not very important.
Is that right? I am planning to buy a Super 6 soon but a user base seems for me more than important

I take it you don't own one? If you did, then you would be in the forums wondering what is happening as well. Cheers
