I’m just getting into the Super 6 but man the Gemini looks compelling. I think the most impressive thing is how readily Tom comes up to speed on the Gemini as he has the background of the Super 6; kudos to UDO for keeping the DNA similar across instruments (would much rather this than the tendency to say ‘well we have to come up with something completely different and new’ for every product).

This thing is nothing short of a semi modular like monster, I've never heard a synth like this one, the build quality is tank-like, and the sound is amazing.

I’m comparing it to the ASM Hydrasynth Deluxe. It is more than the double price for Gemini. I need to sit down with it to see if it is worth the price tag. I have the ASM Hydra Deluxe, it’s really nice and I sounds as if they are in a simular category of soundscape.Anyway - I do love the design of the Gemini, it’s gorgeous!

      I have both.
They sound very different, I wouldn't think about changing one for another based off features, as to be honest the Hydra deluxe has them all pretty much covered and then some.
There's nothing you can't do already.
To be fair, the Hydra deluxe has more modulation possibilities and options, however I like the more hands on control of the Gemini.
Effects are better on the Hydra Deluxe if that's your thing.
So the main difference is overall tonal sound. The Gemini sounds very different tonally, filters are very different for one, along with oscillators.
Is that worth the extra £££ too you?? Only you can decide that.
Personally if money is no object have both, but if I could only keep 1, then the Hydrasynth Deluxe.
It's just a massively capable synth.

As someone interested in this unit these videos have not made me want to purchase one. i think geo synth really showed what this unit is capable of. I still want to know if it has a dark and aggressive side though.

The nature, size and ribbon controller make it an obvious ethereal pad machine. But that's not something I'm using it for, the oscillators have depth and the mod matrix allows you to take it off into some dark aggresive places. Agree that most of the videos so far are very similar.

Maybe a mean comment….but I am referring to the videos and have never played this synths…but it sounds a bit “thin”….not much different from a ultra low budget m-audio venom back in its time.

This instrument doesn't tell me anything. (personal opinion)

Neither me. It has nearly everything I love about synths: loads of features, knob per function, awesome look somehow related to JP-8 and CS-80. Furthermore George is really a nice guy. However: the SG sounds cold and sterile. I don‘t object to digital oscillators; I guess it‘s the filters.
Saving for a 3rd Wave instead.

I can just speak for my Super6. He sounds wonderful and can produce strange, cold and really also very warm sounds. its my opinion 🙏🏻🙋🏻‍♂️✌🏻🕊️
