Good save on your necklace! Typical goat behavior and resulting chaos. LOL. She just wanted to check out her new digs. Have you checked out Goldshaw Farms latest video? He titled it "Building a Maximum Security Prison For Goats". LOL. That title cracked me up. He is new to "goating" and while he loves them more than he expected to, they are giving him the usual run for his money on containing them. His are just scrub goats for weed control. Three wethers. We had milk goats and my husband was raised on farm fresh goatmilk which he often milked by hand himself. He has the best teeth even at 81. Anyway, I really enjoy following you, Lindsey, and I love your approach of showing the "ugly" stuff. Anybody who does homesteading can surely relate. Especially if they are not independently wealthy. Best wishes on getting ready for winter. That's my task here as well. 14 acres. 1 old dog, 8 rescue cats, 1 pet smallish pig, 7 chickens. I wish I had milk goats because my son and his two daughters are cowmilk intolerant and they three drink store bought goatmilk (ew). But alas, I'm old and can't really manage the milking schedule myself. Even tho I have the room and a barn and would love to have more livestock. . . The winters are tough enough with what little I have to tend to. I did get my strawberries moved up into raised beds. I did plant my garlic. If you want garlic, plant it now for next summer yield. It's SO easy to grow. Just stick it in the ground anywhere in the sun. Put straw over it or a piece of wire fencing so you don't step on it. It will come up now but won't be ready til next late summer. I get mine from Papaws Garden Supply online. Great garlic. Bless you as you get ready for winter on your little place. Keep plugging along!
@JingleBellsBarky thanks for your comment! I'll have to check out his channel! I'm also intolerant of cow milk, so the goats are the perfect fit for me. Thanks for reminding me to get my garlic planted! I bought some from a friend's harvest so I could plant my own, but keep forgetting to get them in the ground lol
