- ICP at St. Andrews Hall Detroit in 1993 With Greez-E !
This footage has been kept hidden and under wraps for years but here it is now for all to experience. This epic live show is from the very beginnings of ICP.
this is Golden footage. before the faygo showers, before chicken huntin was preformed every show. the early days. I still have love for these guys even in the current era. It's crazy how they've come so far.
They always threw faygo ninja
@@missioninfect2219 no they didnt
@@missioninfect2219 Definitely did not.
I went to the shaggy solo tour. No Faygo was lame af
@@ConservativeJuggaloPodcast I heard about that. I think they've done a few non Faygo shows in recent years. But they just don't have the same impact.
This footage is fun to visit considering this predates the era of before ICP even considered throwing Faygo at shows
Bro.. Props to the dude who stood and held the camera for almost 40 straight minutes

The audio and video quality on this are fucking insane for 1993! You can clearly see the paint on each of their faces, and the audio is good enough you can distinguish the back track from the live mic audio! Freshness point to whoever recorded this!
Yea whoever recorded this had something expensive for their time that’s forsure. But also, ICP has ALWAYS put on a good show, it’s part of how they had to make their way in the underground scene. I went to hallowicked at the state theatre in ‘05 for my 15th bday on halloween night and it was the most energenic show I’ve ever been to. I was genuinely shocked.
x2 whoever filmed this had some serious equipment for the time. Sounds and looks like it was just recorded yesterday even in 2023

Very rare... probably the only footage of Greez-E while he was in the group. As J said, he was in the group just long enough to take some promo photos.
Greez e left because he fell in love with a pretty little Asian girl. according to the book.
They also said he was a MMA fighter
@@ssentak1715 Apparently he owns a restaurant now.
@Zap Rowsdower quit playin
@Zap Rowsdower I know. That was the point
I think what a lot of people don't understand about ICP is that they rap the way they do because they're influenced by/grew up with 80s hip-hop, and that this is before g-funk and various newer styles.
It has more in common with 80s rap in terms of delivery and bar structure. This has led to a lot of people thinking they rap like shit. The reality is that they don't rap like shit, they rap like they wanted to make music like Sir-Mix-Alot, Geto Boys and Slick Rick as opposed to Snoop Dogg and dre.
I think that creates this huge misunderstanding among critics, who act like ICP can't rap, when the reality is that they rap as well as any 80s rap group, because that's what they wanted to rap like. Other forms of rap didn't even exist yet. Critics straight up don't do their research, and brand them bad rapper, when the truth is that they're ignorant. And those same critics will praise old 80s rappers, yet hate on it when ICP puts their spin on that style.
It took me a long time to actually figure that out about ICP, and it helped me appreciate their music on a whole other level. If you understand what they're doing and who their influences are, their sound and flow makes so much sense.
True, but I've listened to a few Psychopathic Psyphers recently, and discarding ABK(just don't like him) the lamest flows come from J and Shags. They could definitely benefit from a faster more intricate and syncopated flow. But shit, I aint the one to tellem that, they are extremely successful just doing their own thing, and making mad skrilla doing it.
And theyve evolved with time too! Their new songs have lots of different styles and tons of rhymes!
@@ljsoddities Very true! Their recent tracks are definitely evolved into more modern tastes. I was surprised to hear how different they sound compared to their "usual" stuff.
I appreciate these old videos so much. Not many people got to see them live back in the day. Great quality for such an old tape too!
To the people that don't know there was an entire underground of ICP merch trading that went on. I'm not talking shit their new shit either. The og ICP stuff. I used to trade for bootleg vhs tapes etc. Even back then this was never on anybody's list which makes it that much more fucking insanely incredible. We knew of Basement Cuts but nobody in the underground had much info on it. The earliest shit I ever got hold of video wise was ICP "Panic attack show" ha. Man you new fans don't even know how it was. The net was just invented. I had to go to the fucking library and use the computer real quick for 15 minutes till they made you get off for the next in line. I had to get my trades set up fast ha! Kabukimans Theater n shit! YEA BOYYYY! Bro thank you so much for uploading this. This brings back those memories of trading across the USA as a 14 year old mofo in the ghetto back in 1994.
Breakneck bomb ass story bro:D tjanks for sharing
Breakneck the infamous J panic attack show on bootleg, Backstage S***,* & Hector Hatchet vs Sewer Dwella on them VHS dubs back in the day!

H8rdwork fyi they just performed Beverly Kills 50187 and Terror Wheel back to back at the recent psychopathic game con. Haven't peeped the whole set yet but it's uploaded. Know it ain't the same as seeing some rare back in the day footage of those tracks live. Still dope tho
Back when I was in high school I would go to sleep to that song. Beverly kills was a great album.
I'm afraid to admit this but i kinda like icp

I love ICP because they had to have some massive fucking balls to say the shit they said and never back down. I have a lot of respect for them on that basis alone.
its excellent video quality for 93..also love that kid rock spiked hair

Do you guys hear the camara man's heart pounding? Thats the adrenaline ICP had in the old days
Audio engineer here... I'm not convinced that's a heartbeat and not audio artifacts because it's mad arhythmic. If that's a heartbeat and you hear it above concert level music... Well they would kinda be dead soon. What is it then? My guess is VCR spool noise on the camcorder or the dub

Thanks for sharing this with everyone. I remember hearing about these tapes on PT a few years ago and being salty that those who had copies didn't seem interested in letting others see.... I knew they would eventually make it online.

Man this is crazy to see bruh... "Very cool ICP, Thanks!"
Lol I just asked like yesterday "Hey I wonder if Greez-E ever actually performed with then since he was in the group such a short time" and here it is already uploaded, it's interesting watching this really early stuff you can see how everything started forming together as far as the image and sound of the group, once you get to the ringmaster era you can see it's really come together and by then they'd decided to stick to being a duo.
Interesting how this footage came about I guess their crew used to film shows so they could watch it back and get some idea of how they look on stage maybe they themselves own footage of every single show they did.
This is great to see as it is the beginning of how they took off with live shows. Such a great sight to see.
Dude!! Hell yeah. Thanx for this!
this is gold

Wow, this is fucking priceless. thank you
OG Simken Heights outa Lansing, Michigan in the early to mid 90's opened up for Insane Clown Posse a few times or more including Hallowicked in 1995 from what Simken Heights DJ told me. Dem katz were tight and knew each other in the studio back in the day. Then they had a misunderstanding with the 'Bong Thang" beat that DJ Freshkuttz of Simken Heights created but over time they became kool again with each other. So video footage of Simken Heights still has yet to surface. Awesome Media Archives fasho! Much props Todd!
From what I understand this was their 3rd live show and it was sold out! (Their first being July 92' @ Todd's which is uploaded on UA-cam and it appears like it had a pretty decent draw for local unknowns).....These guys are the most "Hated" band in the world? Ffs name another act that sold out their 3rd show let alone their 10th or 15th..Genius level marketing, promotion and fantastic perfromers! Ahead of their time and creative geniuses.
If I may chime in. I'm just kind of getting sort of into these guys I couldn't stand them as a teen mainly cause of the people that pushed that whole juggalo narrative were just a bunch of douche bags from where I grew up and the face painting and over saturation of down with the clown just made it repulsive but in reality I actually like these dudes as people buisness men and tbh the great milenko album is actually pretty solid. And very clearly talented at live performances
Ahead of their time? The whole shock rock thing was done way before this.
@@Youre_Right obviously you're not hearing what dude said. He's from Detroit home of Alice Cooper and kiss all that so sit down and take notes.
@@mikehunt8247 Check out The Wraith: Shangri-La, next to Milenko it's by far their most accessible. After that Riddlebox and Forgotten Freshness 1/2 are probably the easiest to get into. By then you'll wanna hear all of it anyways lol
Though this was a year ago... Did you ever get further into them? Or did it end there
@@KrashyKharma yes actually I did. There's some stuff off riddlebox I like and some newer albums too. I watch alot of their patreon stuff too. It definitely did go farther and I'll have to check some of that stuff out. It didn't help that alot of the people wearing icp stuff in my home town who claimed they were juggalos were just skid douche bags. But yes I really appreciate it now that I'm older

not talking shit about ICP, but J's hair reminds me of beavis from beavis and butthead. just saying. thanks for uploading this footage. I was only a baby when this concert took place. and I've been a Juggalo since Riddle Box back when I was five. always was called by my mom her "little Juggalo" cuz she's a juggalette. whoop whoop. been a Juggalo for over twenty years now.
I was only 5 back in 93 lol. Those of us from 88 are teh best! Made it in time for teh original great consoles like teh N64 (Mario 64, Kart, Party, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark. Fuck teh graphics, gameplay was amazing and ground breaking) and PS1 (Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Worms, Micro Machines). And of course, Mega Drive (Sonic, Streets o Rage, Terminator, James Pond) and SNES (Zelda, Super Mario/ World). Ohh + of course everything Pokemons. 😸
We got by with basic mobiles and msn. Perfect time to grow up, MySpace then came in which was even too much in my opinion. I'm so grateful I left school before all this social media kicked in.
UA-cam may have been nice, but it was enjoyable goin into town to get teh latest cd you wanted, I remember going for Slipknot (S/t, Iowa, Disasterpieces), Korn (S/t, Issues, Follow The Leader), Manson (Portrait, Antichrist Superstar, Last Tour on Earth), Slayer and Lamb of God (Seeing both in November 😺). And actually appreciating whole albums, artwork and booklets.
For entertainment we had sites like Runescape and Shockwave (Clips like Salad Fingers and Trogdor!), and playing outside. SMTV and Are You Afraid of the Dark? TV wise, along with countless great cartoons. Good, good times. 😻
I wouldn't change my childhood to grow up in this era, never! Everyone seems so bitchy and judgemental, yet also extremely sensitive. Tis a strange combination. 🙀 😾
Im aware Riddle Box was 95, so you may be 90? (If you purchased when it was released). Was just saying about teh 88 greatness! 90 isn't too far out.

Holy shit bro wizard of the ghetto live!
I have a faint memory of one of my classmates telling me there were going to be clown rappers performing at my local armory in Prescott, AZ in 94 or 95. I was like age 10 and had no idea who ICP was but I heard they were fairly new to the game and were trying to get as much exposure as possible, even in my small ass hometown of 20,000 people. Damn! They have come a LONG WAY. ICP I will forever love you!!
Damn, Shaggz and Greez-E were basically just J's hype men.
When I first listened to ICP I immediately realized J did most of the verses and shaggy was the hype man. But then I heard him rap and he blew my wig back!
Yeah J is a straight beast though and doesn't get the props he deserves. Over 30 years of great writing which is not easy to do and takes real talent
@@KBXband I can't say this is 100% true for everything written but J writes most of shagggys parts. You can find UA-cam vids of demo versions of songs where J is doing the entire song.

funny how shaggy and greez-e are like the backup guys. i know j is still basically the leader but i wonder when shaggy officially became more or less an equal.
Shaggy is younger, so that made him the little brother of John Kickchass who was in turn Violent J's friend. Life, and other such issues made members take a different direction.. After the initial fallout of people leaving, it became the infamous Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope
.
i know, it's just interesting to see him before he because an equal partner.
I would say it was after Greezy left. First John, then Greezy. J and Shaggy said fuck it. Just them two from then on. Also, Shaggy and J I would say are 50/50. It wouldn't be ICP without either of them having so much heart for it and making it happen.
