I've extremely oily skin and really struggled to find an spf that doesn't leave me looking like a greasy mess. This is the best spf I've tried so far. It's not too shiny when applied, my makeup goes on well over it and doesn't cause me to look too shiny after a few hours. I agree though, it is expensive for such a small bottle.

Hi Karen my super dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin hates a high amount of alcohol and avobenzone seems to be an issue for me in products (stings). Unless I'm in a full on flare of rosacea or eczema (or both) when I use a mineral spf, my current (and long term) favourite is Ultrasun. I use the face version with ectoin or the standard extreme version interchangeably and it doesn't irritate my skin. Importantly it's also a longwear formulation (I do reapply on days where I have more than incidental exposure) and I trust it. It has good UVA as well as UVB and works even during humidity for me. What I have noticed is how much more accessible it has become and is now in my local boots, superdrug and tesco, whereas when I started using it years ago I bought it from QVC or online. The extreme I'm currently using is spf50+ with great UVA and at full price is £22 for 100mls - that's far better value than this offering from Garnier. Now obviously it is a hybrid spf and I can't speak to white cast on deep skin, but on my pale skin there is no cast detectable. It doesn't make my reactive skin freak out and I feel it's good value for what you get. To get me to switch a spf would have to be amazing and this from Garnier isn't it. I enjoy watching the reviews to see whats out there, but I'm happy with what I'm currently using. Best wishes.

I think if you prep your skin well enough, alcohol should not be an issue for you. About the Avobenzone, although it is not stable by itself but it can be more stable with other UV filters like ones that are included in this sunscreen and it provides very high UVA protection. It will disrupt the hormones if we drink it or use it in an impossible amount of the pure ingredient which won’t be the case in real world usage. I ordered this online and hopefully it will work for me. The La Roche Posay fluid broke me out and I heard that this Garnier is lighter than that it.

Hey Karen, this is a pass for me! Alcohol as the 2nd ingredient is an immediate red flag for my dry skin, like you, I don't mind it further down the list. When did bog standard spf get so flippin expensive 😏. It's become a luxury product in the main that people on a very low income won't be able to afford in the future, so wrong. Hope all is ok with you. Pretty eye makeup x

It's good for drying down the sunscreen/oily skin.

I’d love your thoughts on the La Roche Posay invisible fluid SPF 50+ , I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and think I like it but I’d love a breakdown from you of the ingredients and maybe I can pinpoint some of my other skin issues 😊

I used it years ago and think I did like it. Sadly they aren't cruelty free so I don't use it anymore. x

Karen have you tried Mad About Skin's spf 50? Myself and the kids have been using it since last year and it's so lovely. It's lightly moisturising. 5 pumps gives you the coverage you need and even though it's a small bottle it just seems to last forever.

I'm not sure which one you mean but I don't use body SPF as I don't go in the sun. This video IS the face serum though.

I am still looking for something without a cast that has pa++++ and SPF50. But theyre often so cakey.
This one does feel lovely but i only wish it had a higher pa rating. And more beneficial and less controversial ingredients 😊
