Portugal Golden Visa - Still Europe's #1 Citizenship Route?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 сер 2024
- It's 2024, and the perfect time to ask: in an ever-changing world, is Portugal still the best route to an EU Citizenship?
We start today's video with a quick refresh on the Golden Visa itself, what it is, why it’s so popular with those looking for a second passport and a dual nationality, why you should choose Portugal for this (and also why you SHOULDN’T), and touch on how it differs from the alternatives that are available in Europe.
We’ll then dive into some big changes that are taking place for 2024. At the time of recording, the rules surrounding the timelines and the pathway to citizenship are in the process of being changed - a topic worth following closely. We'll also recap the rules around qualifying investments, which have also been revised for 2024.
We’ll then review the Portugal Golden Visa in 2024 in more detail - who is it for, who is it not for, what are the alternative visas available and when should you look at those instead. Next, we’ll dive into the practicalities: the process to expect for the Golden Visa and then citizenship thereafter.
To finish up, we'll examine a critical issue: what to look out for when choosing your investment. This is a topic that we explore in much more detail in the video just below, so take a look once you are done with this session 👇🏻

Is this investment fund money different from the actual money for investment or will this investment fund money be use for the investment
Very concise watchable videos in a crowded subject matter on UA-cam. However, are the mid-stream ads really necessary? Surely you make enough money already and will attract more business as your channel grows.
Thanks for the feedback. My channel is not monetised - I have no control over the ads UA-cam places here and I don't receive a penny from them.
I'll look into getting them removed. I appreciate you raising this point.
@@jonathanralphcitizenship Yes, sorry, I didn’t notice that you had under 1000 subs. I am sure that if you continue with these style of videos, your subscription rate will rise rapidly.
Hi, i saw a donation type is to low density population area to culture and arts for only €200 000.00 or 0.2 million, is that true? thanks very much. Aslo any update about how long time for 2024 golden visa processing time?
Do you deal in D2 Portugal Visa for non eu nationals? If yes how to contact you?
I’m afraid not, no
I think you will find that this is an investment channel, not a Digital Nomad channel. Only those with big buck need apply….. 😉
You are not clear as to why there should be a difference between the wording of the law already passed by the legislature and the one that is to be sent for presidential assent? When a law passes the legislature, it is no longer just a draft proposal. This is the final wording of the law. Please clarify!
The issue is the wording of the draft legislation itself, which remains open to interpretation despite having been passed by the House. However, we cannot obtain a legal opinion with any degree of confidence until the law is formally ratified. As is often the case in Portugal, time will tell.
Please guide me about children ages if I invest there
I’d rather not give a firm answer here as there can be some flexibility. If they’re financially dependent on you, unmarried and under 21 (or even older in certain cases) then there’s unlikely to be any issue. Best to speak to an advisor first
Did someone work with this gentleman? Any feedback about dealing with him?
You can read some client feedback here, if it helps: www.trustpilot.com/review/holbornassets.com
“Has anyone worked with this gentleman” ….. English grammar sir 🙊
Real estate speculation by foreigners is making impossible for locals to buy or rent a house
What does this have to do with the Golden Visa? Real estate is no longer a qualifying investment.
@@jonathanralphcitizenship we know how it works investments funds...
The real culprits here are EU nationals who do not need to qualify for a golden visa in order to buy property in Portugal and compete with the locals, especially in the secondhand market for two room apartments suitable for retirees.
@@abrahamlevi3556 outside EU they use investment funds. Everybody knows. In some countries non residents are not allowed to purchase residencial houses (not even through "investment funds") Exacly what Portugal should do.
@@abrahamlevi3556
Portugal should thank Northern European EU nationals for investing in Portugal. The fact that there is not enough affordable housing for local people is the job of the Portugeuse government, not free market capitalism. We have the same issue in the UK, only worse and more expensive.
