Thanks so much for taking the time to show Rubicon Owners how to swap out to the factory Mojave Shocks. I have a somewhat opposite situation for my 23 JT Mojave. I am trying to find the front fox 2.5 shocks 3.5 - 4 lift and it appears they don't have a listing for the front. Front bolt size being the culprit, will have to modify. Be well.
My understanding now after speaking with northridge 4x4 is that the rears are same size but fronts are 14mm and just need to be drilled out to fit. I will have a machine shop do it so they are perfect. Thanks for everyone input.
When I bought my rubicon I was at the dealer test driving Mojave and rubicon for about 4 hours trying to see which one was the right one for me and even though the Mojave handled the bumps better I figured I was going to eventually lift it so it kinda defeated the purpose of the Mojave now I have my rubicon with Aev Dualsport Xp and love it handles awesome!!!!
I was torn between the 2 and I ended up with the Rubicon only to feel regret a week later….. until I found out you can just buy a used set online for cheap lol best of both worlds.
I bought a Mojave because it’s much easier to add a front locking diff than it is to replace the suspension. Plus, you get a stronger frame and suspension setup with the Mohave. Just kind of made sense to build on the Mojave platform over the Rubicon.
@@stephencarbajal5657 cool thing is that with the wider stance, softer sway bar and longer travel factory suspension the sway bar disconnect isn’t really necessary. Worst case, buy a sway bar from a rubicon, make it manual and pop that joker on there. It bolts right up 😉
@@traviskimbrell1209 I'm actually considering running the rockjock sway bar looks to be the best option but that won't happen until I have quit a bit of mileage on those fox shocks unless I run shock extensions? The stock shocks don't have the travel to run disconnect or rockjock sway bars so once I throw on different shocks probably going with the falcons then ill do the rock jock.
So I picked up a set of Mojave shocks and springs, for my 2023 Rubicon, got it all for $600 I have a few questions. 1. Why do you need Spacers with stock Rubicon wheels? 2. Would you recommend running the Mojave springs as they add the 1in of lift? Also came with Mojave lower Control arms, I think they may be more beefy, we will see.
1. I'm running stock JK wheels, which don't provide the propped backspacing for my 37s 2.mojave springs will only provide lift in the front but lift is lift

Nice video, I may be coming into possession of some stock Mojave off a brand new Jeep from a friend. Would be an excellent replacement for my worn out old 2020 JTR Fox shocks. What guage sheet metal did you use for the sleeves? Looks like I will copy your solution in the front. Any tips for bending the sleeves to the correct shape?
It's been a while, and I'm not sure on the guage. I bought a 12mm bolt and used vice grips and channel locks to shape my sleeves. There are probably better ways to do it. I just used the tools I have
Do you think the rear mojave shocks help more than the fronts on the rubicon gladiator? Or are the fronts equally responsible for the better ride quality? Thinking about just doing the rears at first.

When adding aftermarket shocks to a mojave I've heard a lot of people had to drill out the eyelet of the new shock

When you need to rebuild these check out TSW off road in Hutto, Texas. They are very helpful and the prices are reasonable.

True, but they have a higher gear ratio in the transfer case for faster 4low. But can't beat those cast knuckles
Same here. Plus front lockers aren't always needed like a rear one. The sway bar is a issue thou

On Amazon, look for stainless steel tubing 14mm OD , 1MM Wall thickness. Perfect to use 12mm bolts on the mojave 14mm shocks. $9

My jeep has a 2.5 lift and shock extensions. The mojave is an inch taller in the front compared to the rubicon, so there shouldn't be any issue

I'd do both just so it behaves right both on and off the trail
Do you run a spacer lift?
I use a teraflex 2.5 spring and spacer lift with teraflex front track bar and teraflex geometry correction brackets
did you notice a different ride feel?
Yeah especially off road for longer periods of time the ride quality doesn't get worse

On road it feels much better than stock

21 Mojave, front Fox shocks being replaced under warranty, very disappointed.
What happened to your shocks?
@@jeepzandthings very noisy squeaking at low speeds. Dealer said front shocks. They are like 2500 each!

I just had 3 replaced on mine. 1 is less than 2months old.. I do city and highway driving.. no off-road
