as someone that deals with a lot of anixety i find their music incredibly relatable. tyler (singer) created a character called Blurryface that represents his insecurities (kinda like his inner critic) in the hopes that giving it an identity would help him to better understand his insecurities and struggles and learn how to live with and overcome them. Blurryface is represented by the deep voice and tyler puts black paint on his neck and hands when he feels like Blurryface is controlling him, making him unsure of the music he creates with his hands and if the words he sings are good enough.
One of the most interesting things in society to me is seeing a musician or band sing about their problems on the 1st album and how it changes in the next album. Initially money was a major blocker, then money comes and solves them only to reveal other non-money related problems lol.

The black on his hands and neck are not tattoos. He puts that on it's some sort of cover and he does it as a symbol of his insecurities with the songs he sings and the songs he writes thus his hands and his throat is that covered. It's symbolic and it's in a lot of his videos and he does it in his concerts. But it's symbolism for the insecurities he has as a songwriter and a singer.

they filmed this in their childhood homes with their real familes which is cool.
