Love your ideas here, thank you for making this!
Also, I watched a video where the guy tinned that braid first before screwing the coax into the connector, and gave it a try myself. He also scraped the inner part of each of the solder-thru holes first. Tried it myself, and between that and using flux that was the easiest and prettiest rg8/pl259 connection I had ever made.

Dude, good video! You gave me some good ideas for my 40/20 M dipole.
Also, I have to say, I love how you just cut from one part of the video to the next without saying "and we're back". Gonna share this video with other hams.

Could you use 4” pvc pipe for the choke? How many turns on your choke? I’m a new tech and I have so many questions. Hope you don’t mind. I know I’ll have more... thanks -73- Kevin KC1KSM

Where did you tie off your dipole legs? Can you do a vid on your vertical or send me a pic or two? I need some ideas on mounting. Thanks -73- Kevin KC1KSM

I have a question regarding the antenna itself in a dipole: Would it be ok, for instance to have doubled-up 550 Paracord running the entire length of the antenna, along both antenna wires of the dipole, or would that create interference of some kind? I figured that I could make loops along the Paracord support through which the antenna would go, and I could regulate the tension on the antenna wires that way and the support cordage could tolerate over 1000 pounds of horsing around on the part of the trees in the wind. What do you think? 73 RC286 Joe

I'm trying that now basically, with a vertical dipole. I didnt want to risk losing the over-the-tree branch shot I had made with the air gun, if the wire broke, so my rope runs the length. SWR is great and wide bandwidth. Still evaluating how good it actually tx/rx.

Can the separate ground wire on the balun be eliminated by grounding the shield where it enters the shack?
Also wondering if the extra wire affects your swr's or signal pattern in any way.

I don't see why not. The only reason I added a grounding point to the balun was mainly lightning protection. Does it affect radiation? Its possible, though likely through induction or capacitive coupling. It should be no different than a ground point near the shack entrance, which I do not have in this setup. The choke/balun should keep RF off the shield of the cable to eliminate any possibility of it affecting SWR or radiation pattern by altering the antenna characteristics. Though this is speculative, I have not done any calculations or simulations to prove it, but when tuning the antenna, all of the lengths when cut were within tolerance of a dipole antenna, so altering SWR at the very least is unlikely. Perhaps some one else could shed some light on this?

What is the software running on the monitor?

Thats HD-SDR Free SDR software monitoring one of the IF outputs of the Kenwood TS-830S Needs and upconverter as I am using an RTL tuner and the IF is below the RTL tuners 50Mhz threshold.

At 26:29, is that a homemade Christmas light string made with old tubes? Tell me how you did it, what is the copper end piece?
    Really cool.

Just a battery powered led light string, dead tubes and 1/2" copper pipe end caps. drill a hole in the end cap big enough for the led. super glue the end cap to the base of the tube and then glue the led into the hole in the cap.

    Find business KQ4CD
Question on the choke you said that was 4" and diameter and how many wraps did you make. Basically I wanna do the same thing 80-40-20.
I see that you are off The stinky as, I'm a vapor also.

What is the diameter of the choke former plz?
I see someone has said on here that it is 4inch but to me it looks more like 6inch. Could you plz confirm either way🇬🇧👍🇬🇧

i used 2 4" couplings glued together with i think i used a reducer. it was cheaper than buying a full length of 4" or 5" pipe for the only 12" i needed.
