I originally heard you play it on a couple of previous posts which made me wish so much that I could attempt your arrangement, so this truly was a Christmas gift! I have trouble doing the stride thing on piano, but I love that style. It's so much easier for me on organ, because i can play the low notes with my feet. Is that cheating 8-)? great video, and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Around 12:45 "to give it...just some awesomeness. I don't know how else to explain it.". I would phrase it as "spice it up". Winter is brutal for a piano, at least you are in sunny California, here in the Netherlands...we have temperatures of up to 40 degrees C in the summer during the day and in the winters it can easily get -10 to -5 degrees in the nights. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on the gas for heating... (I live with 16 degrees C in the winter, in the summer up to 29 degrees C in the same room).
What's a great way to quickly practice and learn how to sight read for piano? I play guitar and vibraphone and can read single line well, and I can comp chords from a lead sheet, but get stuck when I try to play piano and sight read two lines at the same time. What's a good way to develop this skill?
A note on the German original here: Oh Tannenbaum in its folk beginnings actually had lyrics that lamented the infidelity, or rather the fickleness, of a woman. She is compared unfavourably to the evergreen tree in the title.

Especially when I play. fast stride, I. usually. leave it out and everyone tells me I'm crazy, but I want that crisper sound on beats 2 and 4.
