Thanks for posting this. I remember the 1964 Alaska earthquake and the effect it had on Morro Bay. Many docks were damaged by large boats floating adrift.
Dude that is cool. I live here in Morro Bay and I did not know about this. I'm friends with the people who own azhiaziam, they own the surf shop right there and they are the ones who took the video.
lmao, i think the music is awesome for the video, just because something terrible happened in japan doesnt mean we should all stop in our tracks and still not have a little fun while we still can. awesome video, awesome music, wouldnt change anything, got anymore videos?
I like the people calling it "tides" who have clearly never been to Morro Bay. The rapid draining aside, you're seeing mud and sand that probably hasn't been exposed to open air since before the Spanish landed. It's a harbor, you nerds. It wouldn't be a very good harbor if it completely drained out twice a day, would it? The music is a little unfortunate, I guess, but it's not like Fukushima survivors are going to be watching this video. Of course, the dead remain unconcerned by what offends or does not offend us.
+Sabine Karpf its a local band and the only music we could get rights too, so we use them in all of our videos... no disrespect was meant to the people of Japan and what they went through... At this point we didn't even know the extent of the damage over there, we were just showing what happened here. Sorry if it offends you.
I want to get the same mooring that sailboat has. : 0 Someone claimed below that this happens all the time? Maybe in rare places like the Bay of Fundy .. but for most? Not really. IF this happened in my bay it would be a total disaster.
In response to the quake, The Red Cross has already launched efforts in Japan. Visit Redcross.org or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 from your phone.
This is incredibly disrespectful music, considering the major damage and loss of life this tsunami caused in Japan. What in the world were you thinking? You take a natural disaster that killed thousands of people, many of them young children, and put it to reggae music? Unbelievable.
+justplainpossum music was added because the video by itself was boring, not to disrespect the dead. It's a local band and one of the only bands we can use on youtube... Thanks for watching.

Most significant thing which happens before tsunami hit, just everybody should impale it in their memory!!!!! Thanx for posting it.
The currents in Morro Bay can be pretty swift on a normal day. This was pretty zany!
Incredible footage, Mike.
Thanks Mike!
better footage than from of any of the news channels
@wiccanmoonman...what's wrong, you forget your prozac and jack this mornin'?
Where those waves where coming up, I was there

a tsunami and a tidal wave are two different things.
why is the video so cheerful?
Digging 'Meet Me at The Pub' tune, good So-Cal ska outfit

Dope song who sings it

Saddo, putting an approval lock on. This happens twice a day on any coast.

What is the name of the artist and song in this video. I recognize the lyrics from a Goriilaz song. Don't know if they originally did it though

I really wanted to see that sailing boat wash away.

+TheDrews11 Tides are on 8 hour cycles, this entire video happened within about 30-40 min.
