Just want to neutralize at least one of the negative comments. The woman is not annoying, she sounds nice to talk to, and has her own point of view. Don't listen to these 2019 youtube snobs that don't realize this was shot on a flip phone in 2011 in all likelihood on a windy-ass spring day.

Everybody in the comments is so rude to the poor lady. She was just recording as much as she could. It's not like she is a professional filmer. Why would she stop talking? She is with her family/friends.

I never even noticed the woman's voice, until went back and listened again, do to your comment. I found nothing irritating about her voice at all.
Those who do, must of had a bad experience with a woman who sounds like that.

    • @augkeepitreal3064
      @augkeepitreal3064 6 років тому

You would think so because you're given plenty of time to take your boat out into deeper water where you wouldn't have any issues whatsoever. Most people think that there's some big wave that comes across the ocean and it's a big wave in length but as far as height it's only two to three feet tall. But once it gets close to the shore where it's shallower it is pretty much so like an extreme tide change from low tide to high tide that happens very quick.

I'm always feel sorry for people who lose they're property because of Mother Nature, but lets face it,a few boats that were probably insured means nothing in the larger scale of things, like the huge loss of life, property meaning homes/businesses in Japan plus the psychological effects of afterward and long term suffering,a few boats means nothing in the scheme of things.

Following a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred off of the east coast of Japan were over 20,000 thousand were killed , a tsunami hit the coast of California on March 11, 2011.The tsunami, which arrived at Santa Cruz as a 3-foot rise in the water, sank 14 boats, damaged up to 50 others, and caused an estimated $26 million in damage to the Santa Cruz Harbor.

None of them are in a high enough spot, including the people filming. The tsunami waves reached run-up heights of up to 128 feet at Miyako city and traveled inland as far as 6 miles in Sendai.

    • @faithrada
      @faithrada 6 років тому

Granted.. the Tsunami lost much of its punch by the time it crossed the Pacific.. but it still did millions of dollars of damage to the U.S. West Coast.
Many in Japan did not believe it would be so incredibly huge... and paid with their lives.
After a few generations they will forget yet again...and needlessly die again.
Just wait till the Juan DeFuka (sp?) plate slips ... off of Oregon. Then they will understand... maybe.

    • @faithrada

Please look at the date. This was the result of the devastating March 11, 2011 9.0 Earthquake which struck off the coast of Japan, which produced one of the largest Tsunamis ever to hit that region. It took app. 8 hours @ 500 mph to travel across the Pacific and hit the U.S. West Coast in a weakened state.
A huge historic, VERY well documented earthquake event. Pretty hard to miss.

I can't believe everyone went to look, isn't it best to get to higher ground, That's why they named that island Phuket, many years ago when it was first struck with a tsunami, everyone out of curiosity went to look walking out beyond the shoreline to see more, when the water came back the last words were phucket

alex p: What a shitty comment. Some boat owners are not rich. I know somebody who works hard for his money. His boat is not huge or gaudy. His true love is going out on that boat. He does not drive a BMW, rather a well kept, old pickup truck which he also uses to WORK, for his money. He would give YOU the shirt off his back if your house was destroyed. I know of VERY rich people who gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Katrina victims. Probably got a tax write off, but that money is not accruing interest. What is wrong with having money? You think rich folks don't deserve compassion too? You are an ass.

    • @faithrada
