- As social progress is made in our society we can always be certain of backlash coming to meet it. The rapid movement of trans rights around the world has seen the rise of certain individuals with unsubstantiated "concerns", ready to make their voices heard on the topic. And in the middle of this we find Harry Potter author J.K Rowling, a rich liberal feminist with a rather disappointing understanding of trans issues.
* Rowling has been posting more since we finished this video, in fact she is doing it faster than we can possibly respond. However we do not want to work on this one forever, so we will not bother responding to her latest outburst. In fact this only proves our final points even more.

Thinking "cis" women "do" womanhood in some one way is simply sexist, and it's reinforcing sexist stereotypes to claim there is some "right way" to act and think as a woman (which is what trans activists claim and GC people OPPOSE).

about trans youth & bathrooms, i have to take another PE credit next year. one of the things we're graded on is changing into clothes. however, i don't feel comfortable going in the women's changing room or the men's changing room. same thing for bathrooms. honestly, i'm probably just going to accept the point taken off everyday as long as it doesn't drop my grade below an 80. i can go into a changing room for drama because i enjoy it, but i cannot & will not go for my PE class. and i feel like that's kinda messed up

The Graham Linehan in the toilet made me cackle.The irony of him going to mumsnet when he got banned from twitter is so poetic that you can't make it up.But of course a UK newspaper headline lied about what happened and said he got reported for saying men aren't women.
Believe us, making that made us cackle too. Toilet boy. And yeah, that happened quite a bit into the production, so we just left it out, he was not the talking point anyway. But yes, it is quite funny that he got banned and then tried to go over there and sort of got roasted a bit too. Sad about the newspapers. One would hope that they had some integrity.

Oh I just love the scorn all the way through this, it's exactly what the arguments deserve. Also, I can't get over all these people who claim 'oh I might have transitioned if this was happening when I was a kid' as if a little time on hormones that were wrong for them wouldn't have most likely completely disabused them of the idea long before anything major changed, even if they somehow managed to persuade all the various gatekeepers to let them try it.
They seem to think getting hormones is the easiest shit in the world. Let me tell you, Alicia has been waiting for 3 years soon. It ain't that fucking easy.

Thank you for such a well thought out video response. I've been very frustrated about this as it really does take far longer to explain that it takes to make the initial point.
One thing I would add is that the reaction people are having to trans people using bathrooms is identical to that of white people during racial segregation with the concerns for safety of women. 'Concerns' with no studies are still a powerful thing when raised by people who have fought for their own rights. We wouldn't want to be taking away more peoples' rights while trying to move forward now would we? But the concerns are very vague and come with no reasonable compomise. A compromise such as gender neutral single bathrooms that are even NB inclusive? No, you will not hear anything so reasonable.

It is very strange. We do not claim to understand everything when it comes to biology, not our fields after all, but at least we understand it is a lot more complex than these duds make it out to be - and just to think that trans activism would make the idea of physiology go away is so screwed. Wow this was comprehensive, appropriately angry, and yet fun to watch for the silly visual metaphors. It will be frustrating to see Rowling's massive established fanbase congeal into an ever smaller, but ever more radical neoreactionary conservatist echo chamber these coming years, as Rowling will continue to be encouraged by her ego, and these people she's catering to, to not listen to the disillusioned internet around her. Just hoping she won't do too much more damage than she already has, with the pop culture and nouveau riche clout that she'll cling to.

The weirdest thing about the whole "bathroom issue" bullcrap is that they assume people would fake being trans to invade gender-specific spaces, ignoring that people already do that without faking anything at times. I was physically attacked in a women's bathroom by a guy, and he didn't have to fake being a girl to be an absolute ass. (don't worry nothing happened)
Well yeah, can you imagine a lot of men going to the effort of doing all that just to enter women's bathrooms to harass people? Like, being a woman on paper does not really change the fact that that would still be illegal...

Just wanted to clear up one thing about the swedish study you cited.
It was made before they ruled out forced sterilization and the number of people regretting would probably go down if they made the same study today.
Thank you for pointing that out, that is a very good point indeed. Can't believe I forgot about that, suppose the video was already really long. Lots to think about. But yes! The numbers seem to be around 0.5% to 3% according to the studies I have seen, so it is not high at least. And like you said the numbers seem to be decreasing as we progress and make the health care better and more accessible - basically going against everything Rowling believes. Thanks, friend!

I never knew you were trans. Love this channel btw. UA-camrs doing subscriber specials highlighting great channels is what got me here and other places. Somehow the algorithm couldn't get me here and there despite this and other channels being right up my alley but at least youtube subscriber specials from other youtubers will lead me to great content such as this.

i came out to my family 2 years ago.
everythings been horrible ever since. they genuinely believe i am a victim of brainwashing for wanting to experience my own life. my mother genuinely believes in "the woke". i used to believe in them and that they would do the right thing and help me develop myself as a girl. this did not happen and i was a fool for thinking this way.
on one hand im mad at myself for triggering this blast of ignorance by spilling the beans. on the other hand, ive learned how absolutely fucked in the head they are, and ive grown into a cold acceptance of them. if a birth family is like a social placenta, mine is seriously rotting. i need to leave.
i can however take a small delight in knowing that my mother would probably be horrifically offended if i called her a radical feminist.

Thank you for this video. You are right, it was easy for Rowling to put all those nonsense out, but now we have some hard times to battle those ideas. She pretended to have scientifical data and knowledge and people believe her. I am from Russia and we have a lot of terfs here... And a lot of people who just don't understand all this gender things. And I want to help transgender people and argue with Rowling "arguments", but it's just harder than it seems. Now I must prove my point! I can't just say: pfff, that's all just bullshit. I must explain WHYYY... So... Thank you for your efforts, now I will try to spread some knowledge out here.

Half of the time sex and gender are referring to the same thing though like can't think of very many cases where you actually would refer to someone's actual sex and most of the time when people say that they just mean gender again ..

Sex and gender are the same thing though. The sex/gender split was an idea invented by cis people to medicalize trans people. Its not a distinction useful to us.
Nobody believes in the sex/gender split more than TERFs. They just are "gender critical", but have an unquestioning devotion to so-called "biological sex" (which is also a social construct). Which is something you kinda express in this video, and I agree with.

This is all so very, very silly. "Male" and "female" have very clear and specific meanings across not just almost every animal on the planet, but also a vast number of plants. "Man" and "woman" are the words for the male and female of the species _Homo sapiens._ They are functionally identical to bull and cow for bovids and whales, boar and sow for _Sus domesticus_ and _Sus scrofa,_ and cock and hen for many birds. If you want to make "woman" mean something other than "adult female human," you first have to explain what the new concept means - who is included and excluded, and by what criteria - *and* explain why it's a more useful definition than the very clear and simple one we already have. Otherwise, no amount of bleating about "misgendering" and a completely non-existent "trans genocide" is going to make your arguments work.
(FWIW, Rowling lives in Scotland. Gender reassignment is already a protected category under the Equality Act, so discrimination against trans-identified people is already unlawful there. There has also never been a recorded murder of a trans-identified person in Scotland, with records being kept for at least the last 15 years. Meanwhile, male offenders have been placed in the female prison estate, in contradiction of the Mandela Rules and without a legally required Equality Impact Assessment regarding the effect of such a policy on female inmates and staff, religious minorities, disabled people and so on. A man lied about his sex to win a female-only role running Edinburgh Rape Crisis. He is celebrated by his friend, the First Minister, despite multiple reports of women self-excluding from the service because of his comments about how "bigots" would be treated there. The Greens forced their best MSP out of public life for voting that people who have been raped should be allowed to choose the sex of the person performing a forensic exam on them. The Scottish Government is pushing sex self-ID through Parliament now, despite widespread public opposition, and serious technical questions going defiantly unanswered. The First Minister has said that any concerns about the Bill are "not valid." One of her Ministers has said that gender critical groups should be treated by the media in the same way as climate deniers or overt racists like the KKK. The police have visited a charity leader at her home to "check her thinking" after her charity released a statement assuring users that it remained a female-only service. Another woman was dragged through the courts for posting a tweet of a ribbon in suffragette colours near the workplace of a man noted for bullying of gender critical women. Joanna Cherry, a gender critical lesbian and an MP in the First Minister's party, has seen one man convicted of sending her threats of violence and sexual violence and another on trial now, both as a direct result of her GC views, and the FM has never offered a public or private word of support. Yet she hurried to make a video pleading with a group of transactivists who threatened to leave the party over Cherry's "rampant transphobia."
