    Hey dudes,
It was great meeting you and you are too kind with your comments... not that I mind. 😂
As Sean pointed out, that misprint of TMNT #4 2nd print has the cover art from Tales of the TMNT #1 volume one. Both of the books were at the printer at the same time and chaos ensued, leading to the error version where the printer used the wrong cover for TMNT #4. It supposedly got recalled and most of the copies were said to have been destroyed, but we had some of 'em laying around Mirage that I grabbed after the Studio closed up shop.
Love you guys and look forward to the show every ep - my wife Jessica got a big kick out of the shout out (as did I), so thank you for that. Made or Wedn... erm... Monday... night.
Now I gotta dig thru the archives to find that Mr. Fantasy interview. 😊

I still buy the Overstreet. Been buying it since 1990. I even bought the Overstreet monthy guide back in the late 80's-mid 90's. I get it for the Market Reports and the other articles. I got most of my comic knowledge about the history of comics from the Overstreet. Always and forever a fan.

That is an insane TMNT gift! Not only is it the second print but it is actually the cover of Tales of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1.

Hi team, great to have the show back to a semi-normal schedule. On the Heritage Auctions booth, I included it in my SDCC Showfloor Highlights video as well (in glorious 4K too).
I buy Overstreet semi regularly and similar to John, love the articles. Most importantly it provides useful context for values for tax purposes for that point in time.

Entertaining show as always guys! Irving Forbush - Haven’t heard that name in years! Making us long-time collectors and readers feel old, John. 😂 Time to bust out the old issues of Not Brand Ecch.

The place where Overstreet is really valuable is if you are interested in collecting Golden Age books that don't sell very often; most online services just don't do a good job tracking things that might sell once or twice a year.

I buy the Overstreet every year for the Articles and the adds. If I find old ones for a reasonable price, I pick them up as well. Decades ago, an Overstreet price guide is what convinced my wife buying old comics was a good idea. For a Birthday around 1986-87 She bought me a Silver age Avengers Number 1 (with a matching birthday cake). We are still married, and I still have the book.

Conan The Barbarian #10 was my first comic - it led me to Howard's original stories, which led me to his other creations and they led me back to Marvel's King Kull, Red Sonja, Savage Sword and the rest. Such is the circle of (comic book) life.
I think a lot of fans would be surprised to learn that Mad Magazine is the only EC title still being published (although no longer owned by EC). And yes, you'd have to explain what a magazine is to many of them (no, not the thing that houses the bullets in a rifle).
I've heard this from several sources: Stan Lee used to say that the only two characters Marvel would never bring back from the dead were Bucky Barnes and Uncle Ben because their fates were so crucial to the development of Cap and Spider-Man respectively. Ah well, there's still Uncle Ben, Stan..... For now.

Richard, to your comment at 15:51 about Secret Wars being "the first time you had that kind of gathering of superheroes…"
Check out Contest of Champions, which predated MSHSW by about a year.

Oi!!!! Lay off Tigra (and its T-ih-gra, short “i” sound) she’s one of my favourite Marvel characters!! I have an Amazon exclusive Marvel Legends West Coast Avengers AF set mainly for the Tigra, Mockingbird & Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman (with that cover art as the box art). I have the Tigra trade that collects her appearances and she was the OG The Cat. Show the lady a little more respect! 🐆😁

Hey guys, love this UA-cam channel as much as any you mention that that last book of the secret wars with doom for the all powerful doom and the next secret war series you also mentioned that’s the first time that everyone gets together for a big battle, but you can go back to a previous Miniseries with Marvel titled conquest of champions. That is the true first time everyone gets together and battles. It was not as well received as wars, but it was still pretty cool to see everyone in those three books just something to consider when talking about the first time everyone gets togetherthat said keep up the overall great work and I really loved your walking around comic con and your previous video. Thanks and be well.

Tigra had been in the Jessica Drew Spider-Woman series that was set in California & ended with Spider-Woman in a coma. Tigra called in the Avengers since Morgan Le Fey was involved. Her appearance in Avengers #240-241 proceeded the Avengers departure to Battle world in MSH Secret Wars.

I remember back in the day when I would get my Overstreet price guide and find solicitation after solicitation asking people to send their books in to be professionally restored. Can you imagine in today’s market having such an in your face add? Who in the right mind is looking to get that dreaded purple label that would come with a restored book? might have the overstreet price guide advertisers changed over the years

Green Lantern (40:00) - I also consider the LC to be woefully underutilized, and I wished they didn't concentrate on just the GL's as all the other colors could tell amazing stories also.

I like Stingray. I dig the helmet with no eye-holes. There was an Essential Marvel Two-In-One. I bought Overstreet for a couple of years before CLZ added the CovrPrice info.

I read the first tpb of Fathom and wanted to read all of them but haven't seen any other tpb's in store. I did get Top-Gun vibes (but thought that was cool as heck) and I'm sure several other IPS of the era many say it feels like I also got, but thought it was a great read, and think it would make for an amazing series of movies and shows....

I was 13 years old when Michael Turner was doing Fathom and right in the head lights of the hype train, which included heavy promotion by our old pal Wizard Magazine. Even with my nostalgia for Turner in place, I think what hurts him is the over printing of the issues (even the convention exclusives are all over ebay) and that h'es' too much cheese and not enough cake. Unlike Dave Stevens, Bruce TImm or even Michael Linsner, I don't think you could show a Michael Turner cover to a non fan and get any kind of appreciation. For my money the only place to go into his books is if they are signed, given the sad nature of his early passing.

Well PSA grades autos. So if a person sends in a custom created card that does not look like a counterfeit of a regular issued card they will grade auto only. They recently changed color of label to Blue for those types of cards.

Gil Kane always inked with a felt-tip pen. He was not a fave of mine either. See his cover for X-Men #76 as an example of why I say that.

I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but…big Conan fan (in particular Savage Sword 1981-84). I LOVE Buscema.
I know Buscema didn’t enjoy superhero work and preferred Conan and westerns.
Why do I feel his Conan the Barbarian stuff 1979 forward is boring and uninspired? Don’t get me wrong, it’s great art from a master craftsman. But it’s BORING. It looks like it was so easy to him he just banged it out to get it over with.
As a kid I preferred Savage Sword and King Conan as well. I did pick up Conan when Gil Kane jumped on for a few issues in 1982.
Buscema’s Avengers run at the time was incredible and still holds up.
Love the show guys. It’s super chill and relaxing, both of you are true fans with great taste, and the affection and chemistry you both have with each other makes me look forward to every episode

Has anyone else given any thought to what happens to the comic market once the movies stop being made? I think it pretty obvious that the studios involved with Disney oversight don't make the movies for existing fans of whatever property it is. They just proved that in no uncertain terms with the acolyte. Hell they even bashed and called their fans names when they didn't like what they made. They make the movies for the so called normies and in my estimation that's going to come to an end at some point as specific genres eventually become tired and stale and will fade quickly. The publishers having far more misses than hits by the merit of a title alone doesn't bode well for sustainable value in the hobby. For Ultimate Spiderman 1, the Doom book, and maybe Beneath the trees versus how many titles that didnt move the needle? Not good. Thoughts?

Now if only the rest of the Two-In-One series had some value. The series was fun but it takes up far too much space.

John, stop giving more crappy ideas to Marvel -they will use them. Alternate Universe Uncle Ben as Green Goblin is possible. Heck, they may make him part of the 9159 Avengers! BTW, Conan is awesome! I read the whole Marvel run in omnibus form, but the Roy Thomas run is awesome!
