Just a quick video about my 3D printed air raid siren. The design was inspired by the WW2 carter air raid siren, so it should sound pretty similar!
The thunderbolt video is from Charlie Davidson
• Thunderbolt 1000T Torn...
The ACA allertor video is from openblast64
• ACA Allertor 125 siren...
Like and subsD cribe!
One of the best homemade sirens I’ve ever heard. Perfect siren pitch (RPMs)! Amazing job!
TRAINSANDSIRENS helloooooooooooooooooooooooo. how zit goin bud
It is a pretty good siren.
@@brandonburkest6229 i wish i had a 3d printer. but i am building sirens. one of my people in my family knows how to do all that stuff
Hi Thunderbolt siren
Great for telling children it’s time for dinner…
Glad to see you have some knowledge about sirens! But there's one thing... Not all thunderbolts are dual tone. The Thunderbolt 1000 Is single tone and the Thunderbolt 1000T Is dual tone, and the Thunderbolt 1003 is dual tone, and has solenoids, allowing it to do Hi-Lo. There is also a blower at the bottom that supercharges the siren's rotor, allowing it to have that really demanding "TAKE COVER NOW!!" sound. But these blowers also have different variants, which are the 3M, 4M, 5M, 6M (A1), and 7M (I think don't quote me).
Nice siren. Sounds better than most I've heard.
Very simple and yet so cool!
I had no idea that mechanical sirens were a thing.
Great video idea :D
Do you rember the little party favor whistles that you blow and makes that quick funny whistle sound it's the same sound effect that's used when a cartoon character slips and falls down the whistle looks like a small little plastic cylinder with a small little disc inside with impellers and then the just like this siren there are ports for air to exit while the disc inside spins as you blow air into the whistle air spins the disc air travels through the impellers while air exits the whistle through the ports the air you blow gets chopped up whenever the each impeller lands on an open port compressing the passage of air just like when you whistle the smaller the opening and harder you whistle the louder it gets in this case the faster the chopper spins the more air the louder the siren gets.
Hello
2:13
Well that's one way to get to know your neighbours! LOL
It sounds like the broadmoor siren! Very High detail! Well done!
2:13 HERE WE GO POWER UP THE BEAST
Love it:)
it sounds like british carter 1939 ww2 siren
edit: omg u just dont even know how rare this kind of siren is..
VasyaTheSlav he built an air raid siren..... I think he would know quite a bit about sirens too

@@hickmanism I agree.
there are a few sirens like this in Canada, but all of the active ones belong to small town fire depts.
10/12 port
no way i just got intrested in sirens yesterday
Same!
Exactly like a carter air raid siren ! Nice!👍👍👍👍👍👍👏

Wow, that siren sounds fantastic!
You got the sound bang on there. Sounds amazing through a 12K bass rig.
This is so good. Definitely one of the best home made sirens
YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB ON MAKING THAT SIREN!!!! I AM LOOKING FOR ONE MYSELF. DONT HAVE A 3D PRINTER TO DO IT, BUT ANYWAY KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ON MAKING THEM!!!
Wow! That genuinely sounds like a Carter / Klaxon siren. This video has definitely got a like from me!
Bought your files… have already printed the stator, on to the rotor now. So good. You nailed the tone.
I wish I had a 3-D printer.
Spartan studios Productions you can get some pretty cheap ones now a days. the cheapest one i can think of is $100 that’s fully build and ready to be used there are some you can build yourself that might be a little cheaper
I want 3D printer too.
I have one but my stupid printing software doesn't work
Mine cost me a little less than $300
BroadmoorSirenFan YT tinkercad use it
Wow, this sounds really good! 👍🔊
I remember watching this video a few years back, came back for some nostalgia! I'm also stoked that you voiced one of my favorite characters from Satellite City, I just found that out lol.
Wait WHAT?? You are actually also into Sirens too?! I didn’t expect you to know what a Thunderbolt was!
Yep! Been recording them since I was a kid... weird freakin' hobby... xD
Nicolas Salenc PBP I actually wanted a Thunderbolt at one point. There are some people who actually own some lol. I was in that hobby for the mechanical stuff
@@Creeperboy099 Make one! It's a lot more fun x)
Nicolas Salenc PBP have been
I have quite an engineer in me but don’t have the resources
I did make a siren once though but it was crude
@@NicolasSalencPBP i have a 2t22 xd
Amazing sweet sounding siren there my friend well done
For a 3D printed siren it looks really well-balanced :) Did you balance it after printing?
Awesome work - that is very cool!! I wanted to build one of these out of a bench grinder years ago, before 3D printers existed in the consumer market!
(Thanks for the link/credit for my video btw!!)
Really awesome Nicolas - - great job !
Sounds like Carter siren.
Dj Mario it’s because it’s 10/12 ports like a carter
@@halpmeamcringe1538 it can also run 5/6 ports the canadian carter also ran 20/24 ports
Correct.
Nice project man!
Best sounding printed siren on UA-cam.
Thanks for showing this! I'm helping a guy on r/AirRaidSirens create a siren of his own, and your instructions in the description really help out!
Now you've gone and pissed off my wife by convincing me to build one of these.....
Wow that sounds great!!!
Nice 10/12 Carter Sound!
When u get used to all ur alarms and you gotta spice it up to get out of bed
Phenomenal man.
Best investment for a STL ever, thanks and greetings from Germany.
that is a beautiful sound
You should make more 3D printed sirens, I like them 😁👍
very well done
Great for a home alarm system. Nice video.
Shawn woods brought me here, this is better than expected.
excellent. Now a bowl to direct the sound. Only the outside edge of the spinning rotor needs to be close to make it louder right? So if you tapered the ends you could cut it with an exacto knife to minimize opening?
Yeah this is way better sound than any of the ones you can just go out and buy online or on Amazon unless your lucky enough to your hands on an actual honest to goodness retired ar siren. Question though. If you were wanting to put one of these outside and wanted to build the turbine out of a more weather resistant part what metal composition would you recommend to print this with?
Superb man
Amazing sound
Amazing 🤩
How loud is it? (Did you make a dezibel test?)
where can you get the 3d printed item to put on to a bench grinder to make the Air Raid Siren sound ?
Great siren
Spot on with a Carter siren from WW2! Motor speed is 2850 rpm at max.
O melhor que eu já achei 💪🏻
Wow , Impressionant , Super video :)
That’s cool sounded just like the one on the base
Germany:dad I made a flying buzz bomb
Germany's dad:cool son lets try it out
Britan:why do I hear sirens
That's awesome.
great pitch, but how do you decide when it should be running>?/
Very Cleaver ! Thanks
Hi! Nice Shit! Did you have to balance the rotor and if so, how did you do it?
Cool siren👍😅
I consider the Tbolt a dual tone AND single tone, because it creates an overtone with the dual-tone chopper interacting with the blower.
That's awesome
what would you charge for the stators to make for the bench grinder you had on you tube i like the double ones for the sound i would need a set of 2. thanks
print them
The best one ever its the same sound as castle casting siren
How about using a more dissonant interval like the tritone? (frequency 1 : sqr (2))
Now that's a real siren sound. I'm gonna hook one up to my truck, lol. Great design! Can a Triple be made with one rotor putting out a lower bass tone?
So, what would a four stage one sound like?
Hi Nicolas, do you hava the dimensions to print in Brazil one Air siren?
I'm having some huge problems printing the stator any help?
I've tried to pay for this twice now, and on PayPal it just says payment pending, and I haven't received any plans! Is there a problem with the site?
hey i just printed this and wasted 30$ of filament and supports wouldnt come out i would like to know how to get them out or id like money for new filament
Your neighbors will love you soooooo much.
I just bought your files! Very nice, thanks! Is it possible to get the SolidWorks files for this as well?
The Thunderbolt 1000T and the 1003 are dual toned.
What programmer did u use to create the model
I’d like to see you test a siren with like 10 or 20 chambers with different tones or just way bigger chambers
I love air raid sirens, my grandpa too!
what printer settings did you take
How many ports have the rotor?
I NEED THIS
Very well made siren! What is the port ratio? Sounds like 10/12 on 50hz.
yep, 10-12 at around 3000rpm is roughly what our sirens have.
Yes indeed, 10/12 ports and he's French so 50 Hz power ! He also recently uploaded a video of a homemade French KM Europ 8 port siren which also sounds spot on. He tested it outside and to avoid any annoyance he did it during an actual siren test
You should design a manual shutter / damper for this! Would be cool to hear it do pulse. Anyways good video! 😊
#Nicolas Salanc , mmm I have a bench grinder and want to create an air raid siron as finding a ww2 original is hard . Can u make the bits required and how much plz
what grinder did he use?
Have you thought about making a siren with eight and 12 ports? As it would probably be a really unique sounding siren
Can I buy a set from you?
What grinder did you use I want to buy the files I have a 3d printer and I want to make sure it fits because I suck at editing 3d Files
You don't need to! I designed the files so that they would fit on almost any grinder!
@@NicolasSalencPBP what size printer do you need to print it?
@@chabka34 all the info u need is on my website!
How did you get the 10/12 port?
Nice
Hi nice homemade siren Could you do a distance Siren test?
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS 😍😍
The first diy siren that sounds like a real siren
2:13
Air the plans available for this..i want to build one for my garage
Some Thunderbolts are single tone and ACA p50s are dual tone Sirens too
Man that’s sweet
Sounds just like a Carter or Castle castings!!
How many decibels is this siren?
Thunderbolts are pretty famous for the compact 5/6 port rotor
Can you get into trouble while blasting this without notifying anyone?
Yes x)
Nice explanation and siren but what's the port ratio example 9/12, 8/10.
Is there any way you could print one and ship it. I do not have access to a 3D printer. I have a 6in harbor freight bench grinder for the project.
My son is obsessed with any and all federal signal sirens and I'm trying to build him one.
damn sounds just like an old WWII Carter
Yes. Sounds like Carter.
