A glorious beauty. Legendary fashion icon. Diana created this woman before are very eyes and her style is a template in the world of fashion, hair and beauty referenced everywhere in those worlds until this very day. Mary was the prettiest but in later years like in this video she couldn't compete with Diana...no way
I think DianA did great this night. She looked great. It was a nice touch bringing the Harlem Boy's Choir onstage to help salute Ali. Yes, DianA will always be supreme in my book. Long live DianA!!
Wow! I never knew that people liked this song like that. I never paid it too much attention, and I love Diana Ross. To me her last great songs were TAKE ME HIGHER and GONE. I have purchased stuff since then, but those are my favorites along with THE BOSS and NO ONE GETS THE PRIZE.
@edwinachikere you weren't asleep when this came out. American radio refused to play it or any of her material. they were too busy ensuring that whitney houston would replace her as america's reigning pop diva. it was a calculated effort because of diana's age.
whatigot2say , Im not understanding what age has to do with it if it is a good song that appeals to young people. Look at how old the rolling stones were when they were still sekling hits to younguns
Yes. I agree that it was a very calculated move to remove Diana from US radio. She had some strong stuff that would have been big hits if she just got some airplay.
Has anyone got videos of her performing at the NEC Birmingham (force behind the power is love) around 1993-1996 my mother went to see her but can’t remember the year Diana reached down and held my moms hand while singing, would be lovely to find it on video and help would be appreciated ☺️
hate to say it but diane's voice sounded better than whinteys did for her song in this same show.. seems people seldom give diane props for her vocals but her voice is fabulous.
everyone is entitled to their opinions and 2 ppl can look at the same pic or listen to the same song & each here/see 2 different things...does not make either person wrong or right...they are just 2 different opinions...with that said diana has an appealing singing voice but she could not touch whitney in her hey-day....there are certain artist who are in a class all their own...barbara, whitney,aretha......all very confident powerful vocalist...
that depends on your definition of success....if you talking in relation to barbara,whitney,aretha....whiteny is dead and barbara?...barbara is in a class all by herself....at 74 she still supported by a major record label and her most recent ablbum sold a miilion copies in the us alone...which is unpresented for an artist her age to still have a major record deal and sales of a million...diana has had a very successful career but diana is a master of creating the illusion that she is bigger and more relevant than she really is...
Chase Jackson , The difference is Diana had a crisp, articulate sound that was very appealing, like a clarinet or piano, besides the fact she was very elegant, graceful, and drop dead gorgeous. She also didnt oversing and yell incoherently, like so many black singers feel they have to do.
Diana will forever be my girl.

One of my fav songs by Ms. Ross. This one pushes her voice a little more than most of her songs

Diana's voice is crystal clear in this performance and the song itself is beautiful. Made me cry, actually.
