The “pretend you know me” is a Save for a lot of people. I have done this & been asked to do this quite a few times-though before cel phones it was used more often.
I have a friend who always said he was going to get into his Dads place of work. Him and his Parents had a really nice place in the country. After High School I lost track of him. I finally graduated from UNI I walk into a Gentlemans Club (Strip Club) as I'm ordering my drink from this Bartender Gall I hear a voice say, "Bobby?" I look over and there is my friend standing there. He tells the Bartender all my drinks are on the house. The Wife would let me off my leash once a month, and I would head over there. He evidently told the staff to take care of me when I showed up. Hey free booze right? I would have Dancers come up to me and say, "If you want a dance its on the house." I never would take them up on their offers. I guess I came across as the unobtainable person. I never judged him for what kind of business his Dad or Mom did.
I know, right?! I came to the comments to say that chasing a drunk non-consenting person for two entire miles is something that frankly could end in any sort of punishment without me feeling any sympathy for the one doing the chasing. Arrested? Nice. Lost playing frogger with traffic during rapey foot race? Also very cool.
Yeah. Disgusting how male victims and witnesses think that sexual crimes commited by women are funny. Many people are sexist. (discrimination based on sex). When a man does it, people think it's serious, a crime, a sign of beinf a awful person, a lot of worries and cries ...When a woman does it, people think it's funny, an anecdote, a lot of laughs.
I don't know if I've already commented on this one or not but many years ago a friend of mine was going to college in San Francisco and due to a snafu my friend was not going to be attending college for a year in order to build up funds to afford tuition the following year. Because of this my friend was going to lose her placement in the student housing as only active students could stay in them. My friend was originally from out of state and had absolutely no family in state nor did they want any help from their family (long story that I'm not going to elaborate on). I asked my parents, whom I was living with at the time, if we could put my friend up for the year and before I could even explain the reason why or even who this person was my parents both agreed that any friend of mine who needed the help could come provided that they were willing to help out around the farm. My friend agreed to those terms and the next day myself and my brother drove down to San Francisco and extracted my friend. My friend lived with us, got a job in town and got back on their feet and returned to college as promised. I do admit that I have not kept up as much with this friend anymore but last saw them at their graduation and I heard they were working on various projects in their field.
I borrowed $600 from my bro in law once. He asked no questions. I paid him back $1,500 two days later. He helped me when I had nothing and I finally received some backpay. Nothing shady was going on. It happens.
@@norml.hugh-mann Oh yeah, I'm a horrible person for not being so gullible as to just throw my money around like friendship was something holy no one would ever violate or misuse, sure. My friends usually answer my questions when I ask them; that's why they're my friends, I can trust them to be honest with me instead of just being like "trust me bro". ☝️
22:10 reminds me of another story. We didn't have DARE but we had a small police exhibition at our job centre, so they show their equipment and so on. And also drug dogs. And my dumbass forgot to take out the weed from last night out of my pants. Fortunately I was far enough away from them apparently because they didn't react. Was still super weird because the best part is, I didn't know there was such an exhibition planned, I was just in the same building for another reason and decided to check it out (open to the public)
I was a big pot head in high school. Brought my weed to school with me every day. One day I just thought 'I'm tired of this. I'm gonna leave my weed home today just for a change.' THAT DAY I get called to the office during class. Not in trouble, just for some administration stuff. As I'm walking through the empty halls, I turn a corner & see the sheriff walking the dope dog through school, coming right toward me. My first impulse was to run! But that would've just made me look guilty. So I continued walking past them, hugging the wall to get as far as physically possible from the dog. Wondered why it didn't alert on me as I passed? Then I checked my pants. No stash! Relieved!
Back in the 90s a guy my parents knew could have ended up in a lot of trouble when a neighbor he had hung out with quite a lot asked him to drive his car to another town, and he'd get paid well for it if he didn't ask any questions. The neighbor refused as the whole thing felt off. It turned out that the car had been involved in a bad hit and run the night before and the guy wanted to pin it on the neighbor by getting his fingerprints on the steering wheel and door handles and such.
I was on-duty at my facility (I am a Security Guard) and a woman walked over to my SUV. Note that this was about 4 in the morning, the 14th of January, and cold as hell. (1/14/23) Standard protocol was unclear on what to do, but in that situation, fuck SOP. I unlocked the SUV and let her in the back seat, blasting the whole thing with 80°F heat with the fan on max. There were two plans in my head instantly. Her friend, who was on the phone helping as much as she could, had called a cab and sent it to my facility. Plan A was to wait in the SUV until they arrived. Plan B was to drive this woman to the nearby gas station, less than 2 minutes away and ask the cab to go there if something went wrong. Luckily, everything went smoothly, and the cab arrived about 3 minutes after this whole thing started. I handed her over to the cabbie, and we parted ways. I always wondered how I would handle a stressful situation before this happened....I am glad I was able to take charge of it and make sure she got out of the bitting cold. I know nobody might see this, but I needed to put this story somewhere.
I didn't asked that but usually I just strike a conversation with someone until that person I'm uncomfortable with leaves. Most of the people would happily engaged conversation with me without any questions but I'm glad they didn't question me about it or it would be awkward as they will try to loo over there for sure. Great folks☺️
