Garage Comfort HACKS! DIY Insulation Tricks Revealed (Scott's Garage)

It is almost impossible to use your garage for projects if you are contenting with bitter cold temperature and garage doors that are not insulated. You can insulate your garage walls and ceiling, but unless you insulate your garage doors you are going to be fighting drafts and cold.
I have never insulated garage doors before. The combination of Owens Corning Foamular 250 insulation, vapor barrier radiant insulation, and common home wrap made these old garage doors super efficient when it comes to keeping the cold out.

Good job insulating the doors. Its amazing in a cold climate how much more fun it is to work in the garage when its warm and not drafty in there. You should also take the opportunity to insulate the concrete "footer"? edge around your garage and between your doors. As you showed with the temperature gun, adding some rigid insulation along the lower portion of the wall, will help. Use that temp gun to find the cold spaces/gaps. After I fully insulated my garage, I still find the odd cold spot that I can seal up. They get easier to find as the room stays warmer. Its been fun watching your journey. Good job, I liked all of it but the painting of the home wrap. Now i kinda doubt it makes any difference in this application, but home wrap is supposed to breathe (but since its wrapping right over vapour barrier, there isnt much air to worry about!) I'm sure painting seals that up 😂
No, what bothers me about the painting is the dark colour, it draws your eye to something I'd rather people didn't notice... if it was my project, i would have painted them the same colour as the walls so they just disappear into the background.
