Who remembers 1988, Xcess, Houston and when this song came on, the video screens rolled down and some video I've yet to see again come on.... of course I was X out of my mind
I love this version of "Rain". I am so impressed with Ian's vocals and the band's great guitar sounds. The drummer is wonderful too. They are the perfect band. I am so glad they have been so successful. Greatness should last forever.
This is cool but NOT the best version The studio is dead on I have lots of Cult studio and bootleg recordings. Seen the Cult several times in Detroit since the release of Sonic Temple , wish I had known of them sooner
@@leemelone6482Same, Livonia Michigan here, the cult is the band that I've seen the most times in my life are there any other band, 13 times I've seen them and most of them were in Detroit
Rain is my favourite Cult song. This mix of it is pretty good. Saw them live ...they made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and my heart beat. Unbelievable band.
Wow, so cool. Another band I wish I'd seen live but a generation too young (i'm 36). They don't half create and sing some brilliant music though. What a band! I even bought their great hits on vinyl for my Dad.
@@hossywoof yes. It is TRUE. they are BRIILLANT. Saw them 2x at the SB county bowl. they are GODHEAD..we were lucky to have grown up with music like this

i grew up on this, even have the 12" which this sounds like that version, but it reminds of dark events in the 90s. losing my fiance suddenly and never recovering....i waited a long time and lost her...blah...
Great extended version. It constructs & deconstructs itself & I LOVE the more noticeable effects on the vocals, especially, & I can't say anything bad about Billy Duffy's guitar playing bcuz it's perfection. It's his sound, thing, brain, heart & everything cool.
Sometime,in the early 90's,my wife & I were attending a Memorial Concert for Rob Tyner,of the MC5,at The Fillmore in Detroit after he passed. There was 20 Bands,The Cult was playing the last of 3 nights, next door at The Fox Theatre. The Bands culminated into An All Star Jam. As they were leaving,we thought it was over. About 12:30 The Cult hit the Stage & played over 2 hours, & I was surprised they were paying homage to the MC5 & covered, "Kick Out The Jams." Awesome night.
I hear You! Ever since the Cult rose I bought every record and could sing every song they ever made!! What a Band they were! As I miss them heaps but have there recording for my lifetime!! Aussie chrisso 🇦🇺 ♥️
❤ 2020 ❤ This record still rocks.. first heard them in the 80's at the Isle Of Man TT races.. they brought the house down with this record... Forever in my heart❤
Dancing with a chick on live TV late 80's Toronto. DJ was Chris Sheppard and dance show was the second version of Electric Circus TV show. Oh ya...I got SOME!

I love this song, that being said, does anyone else think the musical part at the beginning, and again later sounds like Alice Cooper's Gutter Cat VS the Jets? No worries, both great rock songs.💫🤟

I was at Energy's in Houston in 88 when I heard the rave version. Tripping on X for my 1st time. It's was a Blast!
xcess every top act of the era was there Sarah Woench and I dancing - we were the definition of cool.
Rolling hard on X , got over heated dancing to this and go outside and it starts pouring🌧️
I remember that , and blue planet, or Pete's would jamm this, 8-O's club too
So many clubs in Houston back than...wth happened to all those good times.

Billy Duffy = class
Is Billy actually a MAGICIAN? The sounds he gets out of his guitar suggests YES. No one else I know plays so brilliantly as he does.

It's not about rain, you know. Our band was not allowed to play it at our high school.
Love the Cult an Awesome Band, saw them few times back in the 80's and 90's one of my Faves of all time.
Still gives me goosebumps and I remember where I was and what I was doing and how lucky I was to be doing it. I was truly alive in every sense ✌️💜😁

Used to dance to this ar the Wave and Pink Cadillac in Waikiki in 188-89. This was the definitive song of that -lace during those years.
Do I have to really dignify the 'Cult"? I have been spreading their love since the late 80's. Yeh!
...and sometimes, when it rains, you hope it never stops.

What a fantastic version of an already great song i remember when i first saw the video on mtv with the goth girls the cult rules no doubt about it
The girls are called the Anadin Brothers.
The Cult borrowed them from Doctor and the Medics.
