    Just dropping-in to say how much I appreciate these vids. At 49 years old, after watching this vid yesterday I did my first back 3 during an evening hiking session w. my kids. It's not dialed yet, but it was definitely confirmation that this advice helps. I also really appreciate the commenters on here who share their ongoing struggles with whatever trick they're working on, whatever their level. Solidarity! Like I'm always telling my kids (but I don't always model for them) it's all about growth, and that path is not a straight one.

    Amazing video, as usual 🤩😊
    Funny to see your full face for once 😂
    I finally found a great trampoline site to sign in for and it's incredible how it makes all the difference!!!! I'm so excited.
    I like the way you work things out, I also like breaking everything down in tiny steps to avoid getting blocked by the fear of injury. And it works !!!
    Thanks for all those videos that take a great part in my training every season ❤😄

    Best vid on the topic. Period. However, at the end of the day no video in the world can replace practice. Even more so, the more vids you watch the more of a kognitive approach you tend to be doing while practicing which is sort of preventing you to build the right feeling of the spin. You will be constantly thinking "watch your posture, watch your setup turn, try a grab, don't look down, look ahead, etc". Truth of the story is: These videos are probably the best out there but for you to truly learn something you need to go out and do it and lots! Nev can pump out those 360s with ease because he has been shredding basically his whole life. Don't forget that when your 3s don't look like his after like a week of training.

    I noticed in the freeze frame shots riders are turning their heads to look back uphill as they leave the lip. It feels completely unnatural to be looking behind you as you approach Danger! to the front but it really helped me get the rotation going.

    I've been terrified of backside spins ever since I caught my heel edge on my take off. Sending me like a lawn dart down the landing on my back. I took off on my toe edge though. Just not a good windup I guess.

    I agree 100% with practicing a lot of backside 180s. I spent a full season practicing back 180s and I got them really smooth. Yesterday I finally tried a back 360, and I landed it first try with ease. I continued to land another many more 360s throughout the day with a high level of success. I give full credit to the practice and confidence of my back 180s.

    Hey Nev, or anyone else that sees this with experience with back 3s,
    Any tips to prevent overrotating once you land? I’ve taken a couple heelside edge catches to my back and back of my head because my board will keep rotating once I’ve landed the 3. I think I’m landing a little too backseat, causing the nose of the board to easily slide to the right. Enjoyed the video and all your other content, thank you!

    When should I initiate the backside spin? When the nose reaches the lip or when the center of my board has crossed the lip?

    • @dlckddyd76
      @dlckddyd76 2 роки тому

      depends how fast you're going. generally you want to pop before you take off
      (obviously). you just want your heel edge off snow when you pop so you don't catch an edge. if you try to pop with base of the board flat to the snow you're more likely to catch an edge. but to your question? you just want to be close to the end of the lip to pop for most air.

  • @alankim5749
    @alankim5749 5 років тому

    Hey Nev,
    Before you jump off the lip, should your body already be rotating? I think I've been unwinding right when I jump off. In the video it looks like you (or the pro) starts to rotate the body clock wise about 1-2 meters before the jump.

    • @robfromvan
      @robfromvan Рік тому

      Yes, start rotating and turning your head before you leave the lip of the jump.

    I realize this video is a few years old, but was hoping someone could comment on an issue I'm having with my Backside 360s that I didn't see covered in the video (or other Snowboard Addiction videos I've watched); I can get a backside 360 every attempt but often land very tail-heavy, basically in a manual to which I then slip out. Any tips for how to level out my spin so it parallels the angle of the landing? I think I'm spinning parallel to the angle of the jump itself and thus end up with my tail touching down first when it comes time to land. I can't figure out how to bring it around and land more centered (both front and back foot landing at the same time). Might this indicate I'm not centered over both feet at take off? Maybe I'm taking off a little tail-heavy to start? Much appreciated!

      Snowboard Addiction Thanks so much for a reply and the advice! You’re awesome! I’m going back up tomorrow so I’ll give it a shot.

    • @lorenzopasini4890
      @lorenzopasini4890 9 місяців тому

      yeah dude, I think you already got it. If you land like tail press, you're probably not really centered over both feet. It's a very common thing to put some more weight on the back leg, I also did that a lot, you have to concentrate while carving and put some weight more on the front leg (I'm regular so it's my left leg), you'll notice to be more cenyered and way more stable. Enjoy dude!
