I'm not surprised artists arent getting paid to perform at award shows. In America if you want to perform you put up the money for the time slot. It's easier to get notice at award shows because more people pay attention at one time when normally they wouldn't have. You can showcase your new music and get free advertisement from the award show company that advertises their awards and who will b performing.
Think of Awards like Grammy, BBMA, AMA also country Music Awards and Film/Artist, here in US goes to regular TV Channel not cable and very seldom there's boycott on the show.
It makes sense that they don't pay the artists because of the type of global publicity the show provides, some will need it more than others esp if artist/group x just dropped new music and most of the world/kpop community didn't know it existed since a lot of us don't even watch other artists unless our faves are involved.
Bc its what we experienced almost everyday esp on Twitter..report, block, clean searches, ss and email bighit... idk it's like it kind of become a trend to hate on BTS/armys and based on my personal experience here on yt even in 2016 2017 other fandoms "united" when "attacking" bts/armys..
At least MMA had an official stream on UA-cam that was good quality unlike AAA aka the worst award show that exists. It was delayed few hours and there was no explanation. We had to watch streams from people who were recording their TVs for around an hour then there was an "official" stream but it still was low quality and was lagging most of the time. Also the treatment towards idols leaves much to be desired...
I enjoyed this, as a foreigner the tiny details about the industry are just so hard to understand because I live in a different reality. I had no idea they didn't get paid...like "we gon give you awards, just be thankful and show up for free as a way to show your appreciation". I call this luxury slaves, that's what they are
If people are paying to watch their favorite artists perform at the awards show, of course the artists should get paid! How is not paying the artists still a thing?!
Not gonna lie when the rumor started circulating of the lack of broadcast being from big3 pressure my first thought was “no they wouldn’t... would they?” and then gradually moved to “actually its kind of plausible” and having not seen anything to counter it, started to believe it was true. This makes a lot more sense though. I wonder why the MMA’s twitter account deleted their tweets though? It would have killed the rumor before it really went off the ground. Anyway thanks for the info. As for the artists not being paid, from what I understand that’s normal for most award shows even in the west. That’s part of the reason why artist are given those goody bags with ridiculously expensive products. It’s a win for the brands because famous people are seen with the product and it’s a win for the shows because they get away with not paying for appearances. Anyway my point is, it’s still wrong but not surprising.
Thanks for clarifying about the broadcast. 👍 But about the attendance, I have different opinion. Why so many artists attended before and not now? Still a maze to me. 🤔 And I don't think any award show pay the artists for attendence, I always thought the artists attended an award show because mainly for their achievements and exposure time to show their talents.
So BTS stage was over 37 minutes and they didn’t get a penny. I want to know why big hit would allow them to put so much time and effort in a performance that’s not going to pay them? I really just want to understand!!!🤷🏾♀️
ahh it was online I watched it live in America. The big 3 doesn't exist anymore. SM under the gun for bad treatment of their Idols, YG down the tubes with controversy and drug scandals. Seems to me big 3 only exists in peoples minds. BigHit probably worth as much if not more now.
Koakoa45 the term big3 will probably stay just for the sake of "I'm talking about sm, yg and jyp" not because they are actually big. Bighit is making more money than them all combined and is probably worth more than them too. People say that it's not about money but about influence but i don't know. I see groups from smaller company's being successful without being from one of those 3 companies. Especially with what happened during this year
Exactly! So the "victimhood" card should end now. BTS are not the "poor boys" any longer. Plus, other idols from other companies worked just as hard as the BTS boys. Heck, all idols work themselves to the bone to get where they are, regardless of the company, because if they don't -- they don't make it.
It's good for us International fans of BTS since internet is more relevant now than tv! Whether med3 boycott or not it doesn't matter. TV networks missed their chance to see the performance of the year! And with regards to payment for the artists, BTS always do charity in their works like free music (i. e. CNS, tonight, Scenery, Promise) so they wouldn't be bothered if they would be paid or not because for them their armys are more important.
Where is the receipt dude? Thats why fake rumours can lead innocent people get hate for nothing. Melon are bigger than SM and YGE in South Korea. They’ve been pressured?? Pfft...my ass
Knowing some groups spend LOADS on their stages *coughbighitcough* I’m blown away that they don’t get monetarily compensated. Good grief. Makes me wonder why they put *so much* $$ in them.
Rebekah Mayer bighit didn’t have to spend all that money on their sets and performances..I’m glad and grateful that they did because it was amazing but it’s the price of exposure in my opinion.
okay, I can understand why artists don't get paid to come to the award show and just sit there and watch, but to perform? yeah they should get something
Why no one is talking about Danny appearing out of no where with a glass commercial 😂 Edit : Danny you look good tho. You low key remind me of Jungkook 😆
I ain't even know about Kakao TV considering I don't follow Kakao on any social and I dont pay for premium content anyways when I can get what I want for free LOL. Plus I live in the US so most stuff like that dont make it too me.
Why I think the big 3 is not boycotting the MMA. One: They probably know whether or not their artists is going to win an important award ahead of the award shows so they don't allow them to attend unless they're bringing home an important award. If you notice in previous award shows, artists usually don't join the lineup if they're not going to win anything even if they are nominated. Second: SM, JYP, and Bighit have some sort of business alliance or partnership. Third : not everything is about BTS, Army so please calm down and stop triggering fandom wars by believing in baseless rumours started by an 'insider.'
Danny Kim @gyumstagram preaching the gospel here folks starting@7:28. SK KPop industry really seems to exploit its KPop artists, yes artists, not idols. They sing dance perform promote like other major artists so they should be earning from their work at these awards shows.
That's why the big groups don't attend any more, because they have not been winning Daesangs since 2017 & 2018 because of BTS getting most > then all of them due to their overwhelming popularity in Korea & worldwide (votes, sales, judging for music quality) .....the funny thing is that their fandoms say *it's rigged* when they don't win against BTS > then *it's boring* when their groups don't attend because they know they have no chance especially that BTS gotten even BIGGER! LIKE WOW THE AMOUNT OF HYPOCRISY 😂😂😂
exactly. big label do not allow their biggest artist there if they are not winning. well they knew which artist is dominating right now. they want their biggest artist to be the main attention and king of the night so attend an awards show without wining main awards is something they did not want to happen.

It's loss for the non-participation for UA-cam is killing radio and tv.
thanks for clarifying
I wonder what the phone plans are like there if no one uses the text feature...
It makes sense that they don't pay the artists because of the type of global publicity the show provides, some will need it more than others esp if artist/group x just dropped new music and most of the world/kpop community didn't know it existed since a lot of us don't even watch other artists unless our faves are involved.
MelOn Music Awards Broadcast In Kakao TV Is Like American Music Awards Broadcast In Disney+
Online Streaming Service Is On The Rise People
Armys always feel like everything in this world is against their idol. Just chill bihhh
The Grammys don't pay either. For the Grammys artists go because if they perform there is usually a sales bump due to exposure.
it's shocking to hear that the artists don't get paid for these awards, especially when they have those huge expensive stages
Do US award shows pay their artists? Like Billboard or the Grammys? Or they consider the "exposure" to be the payment?
I just knew that they aren't payed for performing at such award show
Same here...... I was got shocked
Those performance was so amazing and it's cost a lot of money. Yet, no one getting paid.
And I watch live streaming od MMA in ithek channels.....
Danny only talks facts
But about the attendance, I have different opinion. Why so many artists attended before and not now? Still a maze to me. 🤔
And I don't think any award show pay the artists for attendence, I always thought the artists attended an award show because mainly for their achievements and exposure time to show their talents.
Waooooo you just cleared all the confusion.......
Pathetic that artist don't have any share for performing but thanks for this thou.....
Nice narrative 👌
So BTS stage was over 37 minutes and they didn’t get a penny. I want to know why big hit would allow them to put so much time and effort in a performance that’s not going to pay them? I really just want to understand!!!🤷🏾♀️
Armys were quick to jump at the big3 lol, hmmmm not the first time
ahh it was online I watched it live in America.
That shameless insta plug had me HOWLING 😂😂😂
It's good for us International fans of BTS since internet is more relevant now than tv! Whether med3 boycott or not it doesn't matter. TV networks missed their chance to see the performance of the year! And with regards to payment for the artists, BTS always do charity in their works like free music (i. e. CNS, tonight, Scenery, Promise) so they wouldn't be bothered if they would be paid or not because for them their armys are more important.
Nobody:
Danny waking up in cold sweat: I need to make a random ass video to defend the Big3 from a twitter rumor
To lick melon ass...😎
@@BlackRose-ir2fj fuck off.
I’m not surprised if big 3 boycotted it because they are known to do it in the past
okay, I can understand why artists don't get paid to come to the award show and just sit there and watch, but to perform? yeah they should get something
Just curious what app did Koreans used to talk before kakao talk came in Korea 🤔🤔🤔🤔
The title of this video provocative and surprise me in the beginning 🙄😮
Why no one is talking about Danny appearing out of no where with a glass commercial 😂
Edit : Danny you look good tho. You low key remind me of Jungkook 😆
Danny's photo is so adorable. y iz dat?
I ain't even know about Kakao TV considering I don't follow Kakao on any social and I dont pay for premium content anyways when I can get what I want for free LOL. Plus I live in the US so most stuff like that dont make it too me.
The way he pronounce kAkaW so funny lol
That's how koreans pronounce it??
ok.... i didn't know mma wasn't broadcast on tv 😳
So why you should watch on tv if you can watch by streaming online
Kiss your cat every time danny says kakao
Why I think the big 3 is not boycotting the MMA.
One: They probably know whether or not their artists is going to win an important award ahead of the award shows so they don't allow them to attend unless they're bringing home an important award. If you notice in previous award shows, artists usually don't join the lineup if they're not going to win anything even if they are nominated.
Second: SM, JYP, and Bighit have some sort of business alliance or partnership.
Third : not everything is about BTS, Army so please calm down and stop triggering fandom wars by believing in baseless rumours started by an 'insider.'
I just wanted hot tea, not hot ass tea
No tea here just Danny in coveralls and goggles.
Danny Kim @gyumstagram preaching the gospel here folks starting@7:28. SK KPop industry really seems to exploit its KPop artists, yes artists, not idols. They sing dance perform promote like other major artists so they should be earning from their work at these awards shows.
You can't blame that on JYP because Itzy were there
cool Kizz Ikr plus twice is in their concert
That's why the big groups don't attend any more, because they have not been winning Daesangs since 2017 & 2018 because of BTS getting most > then all of them due to their overwhelming popularity in Korea & worldwide (votes, sales, judging for music quality)
.....the funny thing is that their fandoms say *it's rigged* when they don't win against BTS > then *it's boring* when their groups don't attend because they know they have no chance especially that BTS gotten even BIGGER!
Its must be nice to be delusional 💀
When they know about this truth before, when their artists got the awards why they were attending?
Right, bit fat hypocrisy
lol, you are still delulu. so, kids
watched this vid again, benefit for artist less than having their own concert. thats why they didn't attend.
@@puppenstubemarquiz4305 always have been like that why they stop attending until 2 years ago
