I really love the line, "the thirteen heroes were not perfect, but they are the only ones who showed up", the Elysian Realm is not about who they are, but about what they did for humanity.
well yes against some herrschers or some honkai beasts spread around were some but not everyone, when they fighted at the moon Sakura and Elysia were gone already and not everyone were there too.. so yes this was pretty much the first time all were together.
Along with meeting a like-minded Herscherr, she also got to live her dream of fighting with the team she founded. Fulfilling the last regrets she had 50 thousand years ago.
This animation did justice to Elysian Realm's story. The way all of them gave their signets to Elysia to fight the Herrscher is so touching and now her one last wish, to fight together as the 13 flame-chasers, has been fulfilled. I'm not okay😭
Herrscher of the Corruption was seeing the flamechasers as just simple data but it understimated the concept of a human soul & the power of the herrscher of Humanity

@Otto Apocalypse the Herrcherr of Binding and Death hadnt awakened yet so I doubt they would waste forces for useless war against each other.Most likely the search for 13th herrcherr will begin(since its confirmed they are the first herrcherr,HoO,herrcherr of Origin) or one of the new herrcherrs will awaken,since its almost the end(it was said by honkai devs that this is the final year for Honkai Story)

Everyone is talking about the ending scene of Kevin and Kalpas but look at Pardo bro, she didn't know anything and joined the moth by accident. She claims to have lived well enough even though grew up in the streets and able to feed herself and collect money through selling her "findings" only. Keep telling Mei that she is the weakest among the 13 and die protecting humanity. That's freaking sad bro.
What about Griseo? She was literally colateral damage. Mobius saved her because of the fond and respect she had for her parents. Tried to approach to her to not make her feel alone but the others, like Aponia, make Griseo feel like a family. She is the youngest that was living her life with her parents until Herrscher made its move on the facilities
@@CSJMR93 I do pity her as well, but something about pardo tho. She keeps on saying that she treasures her life greatly and seeks protection from Mei every time they are in danger. In PE, she was killed shortly after the arrival of HotE because she was weak. That fact makes me pity her even more.
pardo will always be the best character in my opinion. she’s a cat person, her dialogue is funny and her personality is similar to mine. also, her backstory is quite interesting and her as a battle suit is OP. pardo may say she’s the weakest of the flame chasers, but that’s not true

The best thing about Elysia for me is just that she seems too pure to be true. She's always cheerful, optimistic, and friendly. And that's literally to everyone. Even to Kalpas and Mobius, two of the most unsociable Flame-Chasers by far. But obviously, she hides a secret, as obvious by her companions' words. So I thought that she was to be revealed to be the most evil one in the group, and that she's merely playing a facade in order to get everyone's cooperation to further her own agenda. But there was no agenda. There never was an agenda. She truly loved each and every single one of her companions and she always committed herself into helping humanity strive forward against the Honkai. And this animation is a testament of that.
The secret was that she was meant to be the ultimate monster, the one who would be the Herrscher of The End. Rather.... She, through learning all the love, joy, and sorrow of human hearts... She came to be the Herrscher of The Beginning instead. Thus the new era has born.
I loved Elysia from day one, and seeing just how wonderful she was over the course of the story, and how much she loved the others, made me love her even more, because the way she lived is beautiful to me.
I never thought she would be evil, mostly because of the way Eden talked about her secrets. But I did think that she herself would've viewed herself as much more tragic than what ended up happening
They were just ordinary people, they werent born to be heroes, but when the world needed them, they became the flame chasers. They protected the world not because they were called heroes, but people called them heroes because they stood up first. Their journey will be remembered forever, not only by Elysia, but also by us.
the world not called them heroes, some were rejecteds or scared of them , people were really unfair to them just as how the world is when people are different. But yes they were the ones who showed up to do what it had to do despite all that.

This entire Arc is basically exploring bits of their past history a way of saying "Remember us who fought for this world" Cuz right now one one even knows anything about who the flame chasers were or are, aside from Kevin who's the sole survivor, Fu hua is alive but she has 0 recollection of them. [for now, don't know if she'll remember when they have to face off against Kevin though]
Even though it may be the "end" of the Elysian ream, this isn't their "goodbye". Rather, this is more of a "thank you" for keeping their memories, being a testament to their journey, and staying with them through this long tale. They are able to live past their ends and have it all possible "because of you".

For anyone who don't get this: HoC has ate all the data in Elysian Realm. Therefore corrupted all the functions inside. But guess what, Ely is the nexus of this computer, she hold the " Kevin Killer 666 " code. Basically the bom that erase everydata inside the computer - Elysian Realm. That big pink sussanoo of her is that code Kevin Killer. Aponia used her binding power on Eden that specifically said :" No touching HoC " so Eden won't be affected by HoC in anymean. Eden used her data to restore Elysia. So in Ely has Eden's code, she let HoC ate her to bring Eden inside ( See her smile before getting eaten? ). Therefore she can restore everyone else using the corrupted data inside HoC stomach. Elysia always can delete HoC in the 1st place. But she is an Artist and everyone has to show up to say one last goodbye to us - The visitors Mei has Elysia's signet " True Self ". I bet in the future this Era's Herscher of Human will be born once more. She has to be born or I'll cry lol 🤣
The fact that the animation switches from 16:9 to 4:3 as HoC is overpowering Elysia, showing that it even can corrupt the media it's a part of, is such a fine little detail, I love it.
The part where the Hercherr tried to rewind Elysia, right after she said "follow your hearts and move forward" but then she breaks the 4th wall and teasingly says "We agreed to move forwards" gives me CHILLS! I don't know if there are people who may have missed her tone and inflection due to the mandarin; but it was so subtly genius. Her inflection and tone is teasingly scolding the Hercherr for rewinding when she just said to move forwards; like a "I *JUST* said we'll move forwards, and here I catch you trying to go backwards! Tsk tsk!" It's so brilliantly cheeky.
I know nothing about Mandarin, but I just immediately assumed she was scolding the Herrscher, because that’s she sort of thing she’d do. But I agree, it was brilliant

The amount of cinematography styles shown in this animated short is insane. Display aspect ratio was reduced from 16:9 to 4:3 when Ely suffered tremendous damage fighting HoC, went back from 4:3 to 16:9 when Ely transformed, further upgraded to 21:9 when all the flame chasers' past were introduced. Masterpiece!
I loved the CRT effect on the monitors which eventually turned to fuzzy VHS tracking when it became 2D animated. They really outdid themselves on this one.
the fact the elysia couldve defeated HoC at the beginning but chose to "die' to bring back her comrades for one last time slaps the living shit out of me

@@bashartz The Mobius Sim decided that there could only be one Mobius and did some memory fuckery during one of the mind syncs that is used to update Sim memories, which caused the real world Mobius to become disillusioned with her dream and effectively commit suicide. Now, given that this is Mobius we’re talking about, there may be a chance that the real her faked her suicide message and trolled her sim right back, while now living in the present... but that’s probably pure hopium given Mihoyo’s record.
Just realized: it's so fitting that the Flamechasers are shown in 90s anime art style when they start appearing to help Elysia make their final stand again, and then they break out of the retro TV and aspect ratio to continue the fight to the present! Adding to the 3D/2D transitions, this has been a reoccurring thing since Regression (Otto being in 3D before he created the new branch, then transitioning to 2D in past memories and Kallen's timeline while Kallen's always in 2D)
Man, why am I still crying? The ending cutscenes were gorgeous. We finally have a peek at what the Thirteen looked like before they became Flamechasers. The animation this round is far superior to whatever we had before this. EDIT: Once you read through the main story and understood the context, this animated short hurts even more. Man, the FEELS.
I actually started tearing up at 6:19 since we get to see how all the Flamechasers originally looked. All looked peaceful and living their lives as usual.

I haven't cried this hard since Final Lesson. I never expected the Elysian Realm story to go this far and end up like this .. but it's remarkable. The end credits really got me too, seeing everyone before everything happened. Wonderful job mihoyo, I'm now crying everywhere.
That ending credits, we finally saw some characters like both of Griseo's parents, Dystopia, Rin and also the FCs before their surgery I think. Also Kevin using a bat kinda reminds me of Kiana back like then

Those flame chasers who were considered as mythical heros of the distant past once lived a life like the rest of us. From volunteering for children in poorer areas to hanging out with friends to working in professional services. They each have their own life, their own professions, their own ideals. The Elysian Realm Arc really highlighted that Flame Chasers were one of the kind not because of their immense raw power against the Honkai, but how Honkai and their way of life before Honkai shaped them into the way they are. Each members are so vastly different from one another in every spectrum possible that you might think they would never work together. But eventually they did. And Elysia is the initial glue to their bond. The glue from the bond got stronger to the point even without Elysia, the members are still together stronger than ever, in their own unique interpretation. With humans typically hate each other from the slightest of differences, the Flamechasers are the best examples of what humans are capable of
What? The flamechasers were a ragtag of people assembled to fight the Honkai. Honestly the only one who fits that is Elysia. With "Heroes" like them, who needs enemies like Honkai.

Elysia saw all humanity at it's form but she decided to love them unconditionally despite all the of their ugliness, she help them unite instead of destroying them. Because she believes that the Humanity can do better as seen in Current Era. Her death definitely change something. What Aponia cannot change from the Fate strings, Elysia death is the beginning of change. From all we know Su and Aponia are Psychic MANTIS. Su observe the probable future using his power while Aponia is naturally gift on her future foresight. Su had to work on his observation in the Sumeru while Aponia already knew something already is changing.
I just love how they incorporated some of the other members of MOTH that we did not personally meet in the Elysian Realm. Like Ato and Blanca (Griseo's parents) and Dystopia (presumably the girl with Kosma at the ending sequence). Also love everyone in their casual attire (Kevin, Eden, and Aponia were a little sad tho)

Elysian Realm and the 13th flamechasers will never be forgotten as it gave us 500 xtals a week,give the most stressful bosses,told us many stories from the past,showing us the most amazing battlesuit trailers with God-tier osts and never forget how it started by just Kevin giving Mei a trial to find the truth yet what actually was more than that...Grateful tho because Ellie just gave the most memorable ending of heroes from past 50000 years. Also I will never forget that iconic flying kiss at lvl100.

Farewell to the 13 flamechasers. Their flames might have die out but it lit a spark, burning brightly for the new era. Their memories will live on in our hearts, safekeeping what was once a fulfilled live no matter how painful it was. Each and everyone of them stood strong against the fate of their demise, sacrificing their humanity and shouldering all the suffering along the way. May them finally be lay to rest peacefully. I like how the end credits showed their beginning of peaceful times, not knowing what the harsh reality the future throw at them

From 3:15 when Eden appeared and Elysia is given back her body, you can the the borders of the TV screen start to slowly change and at around 3:31 when mobius helped Elysia, the TV border completely disappears, and around 4:20 when Elysia assumes her HoHE form the borders just burst open into fullscreen. From when the TVs all turn red, HoC already lost control over the playing field, and that is awesome. I've literally just realized, at 5:45 where Elysia fired her arrow, she also disappears, she became the arrow to kill HoC.
The retro TV aspect ratio is so clever…the way Elysia and the Flamechasers broke out of it is like they’re putting their past struggles behind and moving forward to fight alongside one another in the present. Amazing 🥹
Especially when you consider the second one to sacrifice her existence so that Elysia could escape Corruption's "stomach" was Mobius, the one who, upon seeing Elysia for the first time in the storyline, dropped the little girl act and all but snarled, "traitor."

Eden became Elysia's clothes and body, Mobius became her shield and bow, the rest of the Flame-Chasers returned the power Elysia gave them in their Signets and their power so she could destroy Corruption. Elysia is the og Herrscher of Family.

I really love the attention to detail in this short. As a programmer, I instantly noticed the sections where it shows C++ code being executed. Here I'll list them in order: 1:15 - HoC blocks malicious activities (function BlockMaliciousActivities). I'm not sure yet what effect this has. 1:23 - HoC blocks malicious attacks (function DefenseAgainstMalAttacks). This removes Elysia's bow. 1:53 - HoC removes dependencies (function RemoveDependencies). This removes Elysia's left arm. 1:55 - HoC "eliminates on active" (function EliminateOnActive). This removes whatever Elysia has active. 2:14 - HoC revokes "Elysian Realm Authority" on Elysia. (function RevokeElysianRealmAuthority). Looking at the code, it's executing a SQL query removing any permissions the user "Elysia" has on all IP addresses. This way, Elysia no longer has access to the Elysian Realm Database (meaning she cannot roll back the changes, just like a hacker that changes the password of your account, locking you out). Funnily enough, Elysia has some kind of backdoor access HoC did not think of (the red screen at 2:52) meaning she still has access. 2:18 - HoC erases Elysia's "humanity simulation" (function EraseHumanitySimulation). This, well, erases Elysia's sim. 2:21 - HoC erases Elysia's memory of the MOTHs (function EraseMemoryOfTheMOTHs). This, well, erases Elysia's memory of the MOTHs. (edit: This may also delete the memory of all the MOTHs. I'm not sure yet which) 2:23 - HoC deletes Elysia's "eternal return" (function DeleteEternalReturn). I'm not sure yet what effect this has. This continues at 2:38. 2:52 - Elysia restores her ego (function RestoreEgo). This function also rolls back her deletion (caused by HoC at 2:18) by executing "g_DB->Rollback();". 2:53 - Elysia restores her "Pure Pink Heart" (function RestorePurePinkHeart). This one lasts 1 or 2 frames (right before the screen switches over) and continues at 3:00. 3:00 - Elysia does something with "Herrscher of Human" (function ***HerrscherOfHuman). This is extremely hard to read, so I don't know what's before "HerrscherOfHuman".
The ending credits broke me. They were just normal humans, living about their happy everyday lives until the word 'hero' was forced onto them. But they still fought, fought to forge a better future with the hope that one day, humanity will survive. They may have had their differences, their methods may be immoral, but their result have left behind a legacy that led the current era onwards. This was their one last gift to the current era, they fought together for the first time to stop the herrscher. Here's a nice quote by Kevin from the first Elysian Realm trailer: "Kevin, people are called heros because they saved the world" "But we all know that this world is beyond saving, but despite that, we must still become heros" They may have lost against the Herrscher of the End but they were still heros. Another quote by Elysia said in the preview trailer (CN ver) "Thank you for remembering our names, we just have to leave behind a spectactle that the world has never seen before. One without regrets, most glorious curtain call"
The unexplainable feeling when you know that they finally achieve the goal that they've always longed for. People may say they're just simulations but no the stories and memories are real, it existed and will continue forward. They keep fighting till the very end. creating an unlasting will that will forever exist. And it makes they're stories and will so powerful that it creates an heavy impact to the real threat that is happening to an existing world.
~Theory time~ Something very important about this Video that a lot of people are going to miss, is the implications of Elysian Realm and Raiden Mei being "Allowed and Qualified to know the Truth". Kevin might be exactly who he used to be, a Good dude willing to do whatever it takes to Save Humanity, so seeing Raiden Mei as a Reflection of himself the one who decided to take the dark path. He Deemed her worthy of knowing the Past and what had happened, how not working together and killing off Herschers on the side of humanity pretty much ended in their downfall. This Era already has one Relic of the past taking the Dark Path, there is no need for two, by showing Raiden this "Truth" she'll realize she has to go back and fight with together the Hyperion crew in order to stand a chance. Kevin is basically the final obstacle, if they can beat him then they are worthy of protecting this new Era, think of it like this, He has no friends in this Era so he's not going to pull any power of friendship stunts to win. His only option is project Stigmata But seeing Mei and her Allies has reminded him that there are people just like them in the present time. So he gave them the Chance to Fight back by knowing the truth. He's still gonna Carry his plan of course but now he gave the current Era a fighting chance/ Second option or rather the option they should of taken in the past to win " Work Together with the Herschers on the side of humanity" He may be depressed and showing no emotions but deep down he's still the same old Kevin.

And the dialogue after the chapter, where iirc basically says that the only reason Kevin recruited a herscherr is "As a gift to Elysia". My HEART. I love this arc so much, it's probably my favorite so far
I think it was more about Corruption than showing the past, since Corruption's whole thing is antiquated tech. Every time Corruption gets a leg up, it kicks the visuals back a bit. Cutting out Ellie's eye dropped the aspect ratio and straight up eating her sent everything back to an 80s style anime drawing board. The period style is a sign of who is winning. Older means Corruption, newer means Elysia. After all, at Corruption's strongest, we had old anime vs 8 bit monsters. At Elysia's strongest, we had modern anime vs a pile of ancient tech.

I honestly expected the music to rise and the beat to drop right at the climax of the fight for one last time, but instead it chose to fade away. It felt like an ode to the flamechasers' end because they never got the victory that they desired and instead of having that grandiose end, they ended up fading off into history. Love that the music was able to connect to that. This was also the first and last time that all of the flamechasers fought together too. Wow... I just love this animation so much. Farewell, heroes.
OMG DOES ANYONE NOTICE THAT PIANO AT 7:55 SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE THE FIRST TIME WE MEET ELYSIA IN THE FLAMECHASERS CONCEPT TRAILER WHERE HER TITLE SCREEN TURNED RED? I LOVE THE CALLBACK. 😭😭😭
I don't see many people mentioning the small detail at 4:32, right after she tranforms into her herrscher form, the amount of beauty that exploded from that transformation + her teasing the HoC talking about the FCs living their lives with pride, made the HoC squint her eye in disgust to emphasize her jealousy, as the HoC said before this cutscene: "The reason I became this way originally really is because I think you(Elysia) are beautiful. That's all..."
I just noticed that there was a sound of a flame at the end there, at 6:09 My guess is that it symbolizes the end of the Flame Chasers, as the flame has finally been put out, leaving nothing left to chase after.
Everything is absolutely beautiful, and 6:58 and 7:10 is just adding a sense of comfort and serene for my favourite Flame Chasers , also as expected from the first Kaslana, Kevin use the strongest weapon at 7:45
Even if the story’s ended, the memories and wills of the Flamechasers will still live on with Mei and us. This animation did the Flamechasers story more than just justice, it gave it more meaning than anything so far. It’s shown that Elysia loves humanity and the Flamechasers as well. They all team up one last time to defeat HoC but at the same time to say all their goodbyes to each other and Elysia. It’s saddening but it’s also very meaningful. Don’t give up and keep moving forward is what Elysia said throughout the animated short, it’s not only a message for us but the vow of the Flamechasers to humanity symbolizing that even when she’s in her last moments, she’ll stay true to both humanity and the Flamechasers.
Mihoyo should write a kind of "book" in which it's all well explained because the story is fascinating, but not so understandable for those who don't play the game (like me). I still don't get who Flamechasers are, and why Elysia is "inside" this glitched world... Is there anyone who could tell me where can I find out more about this arc?
Even better, it's not just "all team up one last time", but... *All team up for the very first time.* The Flamechasers all work for humanity, but their personal differences and ideologies often lead to issues between a few. They trust each other, that doesn't mean they have to like each other. This was the key throughout the Flamechasers vs HoC. Kalpas was the ultimate example. He started picking fights with everyone, but no one doubted him, not a single bit. Kalpas hates the way some of them work. But he knows how they work well, and would trust in them when he'd need to, like stalling HoC. For all his rage against Aponia for her discipline leading to Rin's death, he still knows that she'd be able to enter his mind and thus went to her post fight with HoC. Even Outside of PE... These are sims that have stayed together for ages in the Elysian Realm. They know each other so very well, yet they'd never work together. But Because of Elysia.... Because it's her, they'll put aside everything and work together for one royal finale. This is beautiful. Even the "Flamechasers" themselves... It was never even approved, but that didn't matter. Seeing how hard Elysia tried to give them all a place, even those who didn't really care at all accept the title and call themselves the Flamechasers. This too, is for the only one who never gave up on not a single one of them, who fought for them all.
@@shinitakunaiproject I'll give you a very quick TLDR. These are the heroes of PE-Previous Era. They failed in saving the world. Now we're in CE, Current Era. Elysian Realm is a construct that stores the simulations(has all the memories and most of their powers) of the Flamechasers, the thirteen Augmented warriors who managed to survive a certain Tragedy. By then they decided to leave the realm as a gift for the future. Elysia is there just as all other Flamechasers were. That IS the Elysian Realm. Thing is, this is a Herrscher (often enemy of humanity with insane powers) who wields the power of corruption, and can function like a virus. This thing got into the realm simulations and since it's "data", is able to interfere highly. The glitched realm is the Elysian Realm where the Thirteen sims usually are. As for why the others aren't here, most of them simply either already lost to Herrscher Corruption or were deleted by another Flamechaser. They reappear later on to give Elysia their Signets, which contain a ton of power.

man.. Remember when we all thought Elysian Realm was just a one off Hades-like side mode? this arc truly is worth being right beside the main story. now im glad hoyoverse didnt set this aside like a mere minigame.
Yeah, some people get really upset when the story is focusing on a "dead people" in the last of couple patch, but for people who want to know more about the previous era this arc is really good, not only we know about what happen in PE but we also get to know each flamechasers personality and their own conflict.
i was not expecting the retro anime style AT ALL. PERFECTION from start to finish. absolutely cried seeing herrscher Elysia's appearance with all 13 signets, and cried even more seeing Ely in the garden and reading the last text. words really cannot describe how beautiful Elysia is 😭💖

Elysia has a lot in common with kiana, I feel it's kinda like the theater ark again, wich is similar to the final lesson ark. Because that is the honkai, the repeating story of the will to destroy and those who will stand to protect what they love.
That's why I've always wanted them to meet. I feel like Kiana and elysia would really get along Also, I never knew why i loved elysia so damn much until I realized how much she reminded me of Kiana. Best girls for sure, lol

The way honkai impact 3rd portrays their stories really is unbeatable in my opinion, from animation to the soundtrack everything they add to these short animations really makes everything a masterpiece. The way they show off the characters and the “villains” is insane. Also HoC design and Elysia’s Herscher form is just amazing

The ode to old animation styles and quality from 3:00 to 4:00 really blew me away. Like anime, only a few of the old will be remembered, but those few had an everlasting impact upon the generations of then to today. Astro Boy, Gigantor, Akira, and Nausicaa have been succeeded by Megaman, Gundam, Psycho-Pass, and FMA. After Mei, Kiana, Bronya, and Fu Hua's generation passes, we get to see Timido, Adam, Lyle, and Carole. But after them, what will we see next?
Alright. "Lie down. Try to not cry. Cry a lot". Imagine if the honkai eruption never happened. Each would lead a very different path. Probably a more peaceful one. But then again, it was because of the honkai that the flamechasers exist. So I am thankful to devs for bringing us this beautiful story.

Elysia is literally Honkai's Jesus Christ. 12 flame chasers and her, the last banquet, it's identical to the 12 apostles and christ, and the last supper. And her sacrifice in the previous era to save humanity in her own way, that she wouldn't let anyone talk her out of. Her innocence and love for humans, everything about her just screams Jesus Christ. Additionally, according to the jp dub, Ely is called "hito no ritsuja" which, although it can be translated to "Herrscher of Human", can also be translated to mean "The People's Herrscher," which is more meaningful and intuitive. Makes sense why they'd use the former though, cause they wanna keep all the herrscher names consistent (herrscher of x).
You're exactly right, actually. The Last Banquet was set up the way it did because it is supposed to be a direct reference to the Last Supper, which is why Elysia wore a crown of thorns and roses to it, a direct reference to Jesus wearing a crown of thorns when he died on the cross, and of course their sacrifices being parallels wasn't coincidental. She is literally The Jesus Christ of Honkai Impact

3:10 I just love how the animation keep getting more modern as more as each of Flame-Chaser arrive....And when she shot her arrow at 4:18 she also destory aspect ratio from 4:3 to normal 16:9. Neat detail from the animation team.
All good shows must come to an end, just like everything else in this world. As much as I want to freeze time, its merciless pace never halts for anybody. Elysian Realm is like a time machine to the past. We learn about the heroic tales of the flame chasers. I will always cherish the old era that perished 50,000 years ago forever in my heart.

Bruh the people who keep saying power of friendship really didnt pay attention to the ER plot and the characters. Elysia was the unifying factor for them all. They all werent friends, some hated each other. But they loved elysia. They believed in her in life and even as sims. They believed in her and that ONE DAY a herrscher could also fight for humanity. Thats why they put everything on the line for this final battle knowing the end game coming for them all. Theres so many little details people arent even noticing. Sakura was allergic to pardo and couldnt be around her, Mobius was annoyed by ely 99% of the time and had to lovingly get the last word in on her terms, Griseos stubborn but determined posture and Kosma having her back, Aponia and Kalpas being some of the closest to Ely and fighting side by side) Even if they didnt like each other, they all got to fulfill Elysias dream of the flame chasers fighting together to save the world. They saved Mei and the world from the HoC and Kevin in the CE had to sit by and know the last remnants of his cohorts, of elysia, are entirely gone now. But they achieved their dream. Now its time for Kevin to fulfill his role and soon he can hopefully be with them, as he deserves. (But i do think Mei still holds a piece of the ER with her and we will see them one last time when she has to power up for the last time AS the herrscher of thunder and she will become the herrscher of humanity or something akin to Elysia. I dont trust Elysia fading into the black and swallowing the light in her when Mei accepted the ER into her mind as well)
for me, the most heart wrenching part was when kevin asked elysia “Are you ready, Elysia?” i felt so bad for kevin that he had to kill her with his own two hands that small interaction actually shows how close they are🥹
Ending shots killed my soul. It's amazing how ordinary and extraordinary they were at the same time. Just a bunch of typical nobodies who stood up in the face of danger and took upon themselves the pain and suffering of mankind. Fighting endless threats and losing comrades so other people don't have to fight and lose their families and friends.
On a related note to that it’s really interesting how Kevin was like Kiana and appears to be fighting the Honkai with a bat like Kiana. Guess it runs in the kaslana bloodline.
In the last era, where they fought separately, the Herrscher of Corruption single-handedly put an end to the war against honkai. In the end it was defeated but by that point, Humanity had lost and fighting HoTE was more of a formality. But not this time. Now they're finally fighting together and the new Herrscher of Corruption was properly defeated, with it causing barely any damage to the world. This time they truly won against it. It's beautyfull.
When listen to this song it’s like there is a story trying to be told. This song is like a whole book, this is a representation of a story of 13 that stood up to the world’s problems not to become heroes but to do what had to be done. They were only heroes because that is what people called them. And now all of their memories is carried by elysia and us. Honkai thanks for delivering this masterpiece.
I just love the amount of details that was put into this. At first when Elysia was losing, the quality slowly get worse and worse and the 4:3 effect kick in almost as if it was glitching like those old vhs tape. And then there's like this "rubberbanded" effect that you would usually occur in videogames when you have bad ping. Leaving Elysia confused on why she's back to the place she had jump/move away. (Which is completely true to anyone who plays multiplayer games with bad ping) And the quality slowly comes back from digital to those 90' anime style to current anime style and then full 3d render. The amount of efforts that they put in are just... absolutely out of this world.
Its really fitting that the herrscher incident that the flame chaser considered their biggest mistake from the Previous Era is the Herrscher they stop in the Current Era.
“Let’s start our very last ball” As Eden said, this ending ball of the flame chasers is just gorgeous and beautiful. The most grand and spectacular ending for all of them like Elysia said.
Gorgeous story! The flamechasers are still fighting even after death, and their sims wiped out an actual herrscher from the current era for the sake of the current era's humanity. I can imagine elysia just saying all of this while fighting, talking to mei and us captains to push forward and reach a happy ending, and they hoped that with this story, they have lighted a new way for the CE, and with them helping the current era for the last time in their last stand off, all while making it a "grand and spectacular" ending to their show. Now it is time for Mei's and our era to step onto the stage that the flamechasers once stood on, carry on their wishes and continue to fight for the same future they once fought so hard for. The stage may be dusty from time, but it still stands for us to perform our journey on, what a solid stage that the FCs has built for us. That is some next level story writing. So many messages, absolute stunning storywriting, and touches the very core of the human heart. The flamechasers all standing together side by side in this animation and helping elysia in defeating HoC was remarkable. It banded them all of them together, for the first and last time, and trusted elysia so much they all handed her their signets , despite ellie being a herrscher, which was one of the prime reasons why MOTH and the flamechasers existed in the first place. I think that says enough about elysia's personality already. She's a pure and noble soul, and dare i say, a perfect human. I also love the absolute plot of all this, you know when sakura says, "this is something history has never seen before"? it means that this was actually the first time all 13 fought alongside each other, and it was also ironically elysia's last wish and the flamechaser's last stand, right before the end of their story. beautiful, isn't it? They're passing on their unfulfilled dreams and desires for a peaceful world without the honkai. But their torch hasn't flickered out just yet "because of you." They keep fighting "because of you." They get to showcase their last battle and their spectacular ending "because of you". CE's humans are still humans, what the 13 heroes had banded together to protect in the first place. The title has ironically so many different meanings it could mean, and most of them make sense, which is so touching and beautiful- it could also be ellie addressing everyone of how much she loves everyone, or also the other way around, everyone addressing elysia that a reason that the flamechasers came so far in protecting humanity was because of her, and her pure and noble intentions. here are elysia's words for mei (and us captains?) during the animation; "Look, they've lived with pride, and sung a beautiful ode to civilization with their lives. This is the story of the people called Flame-Chasers.. It's about the unfinished journey of the thirteen. However, visitor, your road ahead never ends, right? Then follow your heart and move forward.. (HoC attempts to rewind time.) We agreed to move forward! Walk along the footprints, to witness the flame-chasing crusade.. In the end, you will go beyond the graves, and create a future, we could not reach!" These words tell you so much in just so little lines. Elysia's "ego", the story of the 13 and their noble cause, and so much more which touches deep into your soul.
And the Elysian Realm finally wraps out. Seeing my fave flamechaser Kalpas being animated even just in a few seconds got my eyes bawled out. I will for miss his weird sitting on top of the table, his freaking 3D massive ass and of course, his maniac laugh. Out of all the flamechasers, Kalpas will always have a special place in my heart. As always the animation short is a total bangeer! Elysia showing how a badass Miss Cutie pink elf she is. It's a shame tho, we didn't hear Eden sing her final song when she departed together with the previous era. It would be nice to hear it tho. Thank you as always Hoyoverse! Cheers!

The animation keeps getting better and better with each cinematic! While my personal favorite is still and probably will remain everlasting flames every animation holds a special place with me as absolute masterpieces in each their own right. This was the perfect conclusion to the stories of the 13 heroes of the previous era.

IT’S MY GIRL’S TIME TO SHINE!!!! Elysia is one of my two absolute favorite characters. And her Herrscher form is so gorgeous. 4:44 that is so perfect This whole thing was magnificent, I loved seeing Eden, and then Mobius, and the rest of the Flamechasers standing by Elysia one last time.
This was honestly the perfect send-off for the Thirteen. Their heart, their core Elysia leading them in one final triumphant stand against the enemy. And though they all may fade away at the end, their story will live forever. What a story!
i think what this animation accomplishes is the meshing of many different styles, both 3d/2d, Filters/lighting from across the ages, Using different display sizes to distinguish the inside of the hercherr and outside, into one fluid /interesting/emotional/badass sequence while keeping us engaged without breaking immersion

well yes against some herrschers or some honkai beasts spread around were some but not everyone, when they fighted at the moon Sakura and Elysia were gone already and not everyone were there too.. so yes this was pretty much the first time all were together.
Poor Sakura. I have a personal theory that pe HoC imparted a bit of knowledge into the Sakura sim in a hope that she would understand.
and not just work together, they're all truly unite.
Along with meeting a like-minded Herscherr, she also got to live her dream of fighting with the team she founded. Fulfilling the last regrets she had 50 thousand years ago.

Herrscher of the Corruption was seeing the flamechasers as just simple data but it understimated the concept of a human soul & the power of the herrscher of Humanity

Everyone is talking about the ending scene of Kevin and Kalpas but look at Pardo bro, she didn't know anything and joined the moth by accident. She claims to have lived well enough even though grew up in the streets and able to feed herself and collect money through selling her "findings" only. Keep telling Mei that she is the weakest among the 13 and die protecting humanity. That's freaking sad bro.
What about Griseo? She was literally colateral damage. Mobius saved her because of the fond and respect she had for her parents. Tried to approach to her to not make her feel alone but the others, like Aponia, make Griseo feel like a family. She is the youngest that was living her life with her parents until Herrscher made its move on the facilities

In PE, she was killed shortly after the arrival of HotE because she was weak. That fact makes me pity her even more.

The best thing about Elysia for me is just that she seems too pure to be true. She's always cheerful, optimistic, and friendly. And that's literally to everyone. Even to Kalpas and Mobius, two of the most unsociable Flame-Chasers by far.
But obviously, she hides a secret, as obvious by her companions' words. So I thought that she was to be revealed to be the most evil one in the group, and that she's merely playing a facade in order to get everyone's cooperation to further her own agenda.
But there was no agenda. There never was an agenda. She truly loved each and every single one of her companions and she always committed herself into helping humanity strive forward against the Honkai. And this animation is a testament of that.
This is so beautifully-written
The secret was that she was meant to be the ultimate monster, the one who would be the Herrscher of The End.
Rather.... She, through learning all the love, joy, and sorrow of human hearts... She came to be the Herrscher of The Beginning instead. Thus the new era has born.
I loved Elysia from day one, and seeing just how wonderful she was over the course of the story, and how much she loved the others, made me love her even more, because the way she lived is beautiful to me.

They protected the world not because they were called heroes, but people called them heroes because they stood up first. Their journey will be remembered forever, not only by Elysia, but also by us.

[for now, don't know if she'll remember when they have to face off against Kevin though]

Even though it may be the "end" of the Elysian ream, this isn't their "goodbye". Rather, this is more of a "thank you" for keeping their memories, being a testament to their journey, and staying with them through this long tale. They are able to live past their ends and have it all possible "because of you".

For anyone who don't get this: HoC has ate all the data in Elysian Realm. Therefore corrupted all the functions inside. But guess what, Ely is the nexus of this computer, she hold the " Kevin Killer 666 " code. Basically the bom that erase everydata inside the computer - Elysian Realm. That big pink sussanoo of her is that code Kevin Killer.
Aponia used her binding power on Eden that specifically said :" No touching HoC " so Eden won't be affected by HoC in anymean. Eden used her data to restore Elysia. So in Ely has Eden's code, she let HoC ate her to bring Eden inside ( See her smile before getting eaten? ). Therefore she can restore everyone else using the corrupted data inside HoC stomach.
Elysia always can delete HoC in the 1st place. But she is an Artist and everyone has to show up to say one last goodbye to us - The visitors
Mei has Elysia's signet " True Self ". I bet in the future this Era's Herscher of Human will be born once more. She has to be born or I'll cry lol 🤣

The part where the Hercherr tried to rewind Elysia, right after she said "follow your hearts and move forward" but then she breaks the 4th wall and teasingly says "We agreed to move forwards" gives me CHILLS!
I don't know if there are people who may have missed her tone and inflection due to the mandarin; but it was so subtly genius. Her inflection and tone is teasingly scolding the Hercherr for rewinding when she just said to move forwards; like a "I *JUST* said we'll move forwards, and here I catch you trying to go backwards! Tsk tsk!" It's so brilliantly cheeky.
Also the part where she talks to the "traveler" which might refer to Mei or to us Captains, was also quite ingenious of them
I know nothing about Mandarin, but I just immediately assumed she was scolding the Herrscher, because that’s she sort of thing she’d do.

The amount of cinematography styles shown in this animated short is insane. Display aspect ratio was reduced from 16:9 to 4:3 when Ely suffered tremendous damage fighting HoC, went back from 4:3 to 16:9 when Ely transformed, further upgraded to 21:9 when all the flame chasers' past were introduced. Masterpiece!

The Mobius Sim decided that there could only be one Mobius and did some memory fuckery during one of the mind syncs that is used to update Sim memories, which caused the real world Mobius to become disillusioned with her dream and effectively commit suicide.
Now, given that this is Mobius we’re talking about, there may be a chance that the real her faked her suicide message and trolled her sim right back, while now living in the present... but that’s probably pure hopium given Mihoyo’s record.

Man, why am I still crying? The ending cutscenes were gorgeous. We finally have a peek at what the Thirteen looked like before they became Flamechasers. The animation this round is far superior to whatever we had before this.
EDIT: Once you read through the main story and understood the context, this animated short hurts even more. Man, the FEELS.

Those flame chasers who were considered as mythical heros of the distant past once lived a life like the rest of us. From volunteering for children in poorer areas to hanging out with friends to working in professional services. They each have their own life, their own professions, their own ideals. The Elysian Realm Arc really highlighted that Flame Chasers were one of the kind not because of their immense raw power against the Honkai, but how Honkai and their way of life before Honkai shaped them into the way they are. Each members are so vastly different from one another in every spectrum possible that you might think they would never work together. But eventually they did. And Elysia is the initial glue to their bond. The glue from the bond got stronger to the point even without Elysia, the members are still together stronger than ever, in their own unique interpretation. With humans typically hate each other from the slightest of differences, the Flamechasers are the best examples of what humans are capable of
What? The flamechasers were a ragtag of people assembled to fight the Honkai. Honestly the only one who fits that is Elysia.

I just love how they incorporated some of the other members of MOTH that we did not personally meet in the Elysian Realm. Like Ato and Blanca (Griseo's parents) and Dystopia (presumably the girl with Kosma at the ending sequence). Also love everyone in their casual attire (Kevin, Eden, and Aponia were a little sad tho)

From 3:15 when Eden appeared and Elysia is given back her body, you can the the borders of the TV screen start to slowly change and at around 3:31 when mobius helped Elysia, the TV border completely disappears, and around 4:20 when Elysia assumes her HoHE form the borders just burst open into fullscreen.
From when the TVs all turn red, HoC already lost control over the playing field, and that is awesome.
I've literally just realized, at 5:45 where Elysia fired her arrow, she also disappears, she became the arrow to kill HoC.
I refuse to believe it was s coincidence when it was at 4:20 that the explosion blazed up thenblew the borders away

The retro TV aspect ratio is so clever…the way Elysia and the Flamechasers broke out of it is like they’re putting their past struggles behind and moving forward to fight alongside one another in the present. Amazing 🥹
Especially when you consider the second one to sacrifice her existence so that Elysia could escape Corruption's "stomach" was Mobius, the one who, upon seeing Elysia for the first time in the storyline, dropped the little girl act and all but snarled, "traitor."

I really love the attention to detail in this short. As a programmer, I instantly noticed the sections where it shows C++ code being executed. Here I'll list them in order:
1:15 - HoC blocks malicious activities (function BlockMaliciousActivities). I'm not sure yet what effect this has.
1:23 - HoC blocks malicious attacks (function DefenseAgainstMalAttacks). This removes Elysia's bow.
1:53 - HoC removes dependencies (function RemoveDependencies). This removes Elysia's left arm.
1:55 - HoC "eliminates on active" (function EliminateOnActive). This removes whatever Elysia has active.
2:14 - HoC revokes "Elysian Realm Authority" on Elysia. (function RevokeElysianRealmAuthority). Looking at the code, it's executing a SQL query removing any permissions the user "Elysia" has on all IP addresses. This way, Elysia no longer has access to the Elysian Realm Database (meaning she cannot roll back the changes, just like a hacker that changes the password of your account, locking you out). Funnily enough, Elysia has some kind of backdoor access HoC did not think of (the red screen at 2:52) meaning she still has access.
2:18 - HoC erases Elysia's "humanity simulation" (function EraseHumanitySimulation). This, well, erases Elysia's sim.
2:21 - HoC erases Elysia's memory of the MOTHs (function EraseMemoryOfTheMOTHs). This, well, erases Elysia's memory of the MOTHs. (edit: This may also delete the memory of all the MOTHs. I'm not sure yet which)
2:23 - HoC deletes Elysia's "eternal return" (function DeleteEternalReturn). I'm not sure yet what effect this has. This continues at 2:38.
2:52 - Elysia restores her ego (function RestoreEgo). This function also rolls back her deletion (caused by HoC at 2:18) by executing "g_DB->Rollback();".
2:53 - Elysia restores her "Pure Pink Heart" (function RestorePurePinkHeart). This one lasts 1 or 2 frames (right before the screen switches over) and continues at 3:00.
3:00 - Elysia does something with "Herrscher of Human" (function ***HerrscherOfHuman). This is extremely hard to read, so I don't know what's before "HerrscherOfHuman".

The ending credits broke me. They were just normal humans, living about their happy everyday lives until the word 'hero' was forced onto them. But they still fought, fought to forge a better future with the hope that one day, humanity will survive. They may have had their differences, their methods may be immoral, but their result have left behind a legacy that led the current era onwards.
This was their one last gift to the current era, they fought together for the first time to stop the herrscher.
Here's a nice quote by Kevin from the first Elysian Realm trailer:
"Kevin, people are called heros because they saved the world"
"But we all know that this world is beyond saving, but despite that, we must still become heros"
They may have lost against the Herrscher of the End but they were still heros.

The unexplainable feeling when you know that they finally achieve the goal that they've always longed for. People may say they're just simulations but no the stories and memories are real, it existed and will continue forward. They keep fighting till the very end. creating an unlasting will that will forever exist. And it makes they're stories and will so powerful that it creates an heavy impact to the real threat that is happening to an existing world.

Something very important about this Video that a lot of people are going to miss, is the implications of Elysian Realm and Raiden Mei being "Allowed and Qualified to know the Truth".
Kevin might be exactly who he used to be, a Good dude willing to do whatever it takes to Save Humanity, so seeing Raiden Mei as a Reflection of himself the one who decided to take the dark path.
He Deemed her worthy of knowing the Past and what had happened, how not working together and killing off Herschers on the side of humanity pretty much ended in their downfall.
This Era already has one Relic of the past taking the Dark Path, there is no need for two, by showing Raiden this "Truth" she'll realize she has to go back and fight with together the Hyperion crew in order to stand a chance.
Kevin is basically the final obstacle, if they can beat him then they are worthy of protecting this new Era, think of it like this, He has no friends in this Era so he's not going to pull any power of friendship stunts to win. His only option is project Stigmata
But seeing Mei and her Allies has reminded him that there are people just like them in the present time. So he gave them the Chance to Fight back by knowing the truth.
He's still gonna Carry his plan of course but now he gave the current Era a fighting chance/ Second option or rather the option they should of taken in the past to win " Work Together with the Herschers on the side of humanity"
He may be depressed and showing no emotions but deep down he's still the same old Kevin.

I think it was more about Corruption than showing the past, since Corruption's whole thing is antiquated tech. Every time Corruption gets a leg up, it kicks the visuals back a bit. Cutting out Ellie's eye dropped the aspect ratio and straight up eating her sent everything back to an 80s style anime drawing board.
The period style is a sign of who is winning. Older means Corruption, newer means Elysia. After all, at Corruption's strongest, we had old anime vs 8 bit monsters. At Elysia's strongest, we had modern anime vs a pile of ancient tech.

Elysia was the embodiment of the game's slogan since the very beginning. "Fight for all that is beautiful in the world."
I honestly expected the music to rise and the beat to drop right at the climax of the fight for one last time, but instead it chose to fade away. It felt like an ode to the flamechasers' end because they never got the victory that they desired and instead of having that grandiose end, they ended up fading off into history. Love that the music was able to connect to that. This was also the first and last time that all of the flamechasers fought together too. Wow... I just love this animation so much. Farewell, heroes.
The music faded away into nothing leaving behind only the memory we now carry of it.

I don't see many people mentioning the small detail at 4:32, right after she tranforms into her herrscher form, the amount of beauty that exploded from that transformation + her teasing the HoC talking about the FCs living their lives with pride, made the HoC squint her eye in disgust to emphasize her jealousy, as the HoC said before this cutscene: "The reason I became this way originally really is because I think you(Elysia) are beautiful. That's all..."

My guess is that it symbolizes the end of the Flame Chasers, as the flame has finally been put out, leaving nothing left to chase after.

Even if the story’s ended, the memories and wills of the Flamechasers will still live on with Mei and us. This animation did the Flamechasers story more than just justice, it gave it more meaning than anything so far. It’s shown that Elysia loves humanity and the Flamechasers as well. They all team up one last time to defeat HoC but at the same time to say all their goodbyes to each other and Elysia. It’s saddening but it’s also very meaningful. Don’t give up and keep moving forward is what Elysia said throughout the animated short, it’s not only a message for us but the vow of the Flamechasers to humanity symbolizing that even when she’s in her last moments, she’ll stay true to both humanity and the Flamechasers.

Mihoyo should write a kind of "book" in which it's all well explained because the story is fascinating, but not so understandable for those who don't play the game (like me). I still don't get who Flamechasers are, and why Elysia is "inside" this glitched world... Is there anyone who could tell me where can I find out more about this arc?
Even better, it's not just "all team up one last time", but... *All team up for the very first time.* The Flamechasers all work for humanity, but their personal differences and ideologies often lead to issues between a few. They trust each other, that doesn't mean they have to like each other. This was the key throughout the Flamechasers vs HoC.
Kalpas was the ultimate example. He started picking fights with everyone, but no one doubted him, not a single bit. Kalpas hates the way some of them work. But he knows how they work well, and would trust in them when he'd need to, like stalling HoC. For all his rage against Aponia for her discipline leading to Rin's death, he still knows that she'd be able to enter his mind and thus went to her post fight with HoC.
Even Outside of PE... These are sims that have stayed together for ages in the Elysian Realm. They know each other so very well, yet they'd never work together.
But Because of Elysia.... Because it's her, they'll put aside everything and work together for one royal finale. This is beautiful.
Even the "Flamechasers" themselves... It was never even approved, but that didn't matter. Seeing how hard Elysia tried to give them all a place, even those who didn't really care at all accept the title and call themselves the Flamechasers. This too, is for the only one who never gave up on not a single one of them, who fought for them all.
@@shinitakunaiproject I'll give you a very quick TLDR. These are the heroes of PE-Previous Era. They failed in saving the world. Now we're in CE, Current Era. Elysian Realm is a construct that stores the simulations(has all the memories and most of their powers) of the Flamechasers, the thirteen Augmented warriors who managed to survive a certain Tragedy.
By then they decided to leave the realm as a gift for the future.
Elysia is there just as all other Flamechasers were. That IS the Elysian Realm. Thing is, this is a Herrscher (often enemy of humanity with insane powers) who wields the power of corruption, and can function like a virus. This thing got into the realm simulations and since it's "data", is able to interfere highly. The glitched realm is the Elysian Realm where the Thirteen sims usually are.
As for why the others aren't here, most of them simply either already lost to Herrscher Corruption or were deleted by another Flamechaser.
They reappear later on to give Elysia their Signets, which contain a ton of power.

Yeah, some people get really upset when the story is focusing on a "dead people" in the last of couple patch, but for people who want to know more about the previous era this arc is really good, not only we know about what happen in PE but we also get to know each flamechasers personality and their own conflict.

The way honkai impact 3rd portrays their stories really is unbeatable in my opinion, from animation to the soundtrack everything they add to these short animations really makes everything a masterpiece. The way they show off the characters and the “villains” is insane. Also HoC design and Elysia’s Herscher form is just amazing

If you don’t think so it’s fine because it’s kinda subjective as well

The ode to old animation styles and quality from 3:00 to 4:00 really blew me away. Like anime, only a few of the old will be remembered, but those few had an everlasting impact upon the generations of then to today. Astro Boy, Gigantor, Akira, and Nausicaa have been succeeded by Megaman, Gundam, Psycho-Pass, and FMA. After Mei, Kiana, Bronya, and Fu Hua's generation passes, we get to see Timido, Adam, Lyle, and Carole. But after them, what will we see next?

Elysia is literally Honkai's Jesus Christ.
12 flame chasers and her, the last banquet, it's identical to the 12 apostles and christ, and the last supper.
And her sacrifice in the previous era to save humanity in her own way, that she wouldn't let anyone talk her out of.
Her innocence and love for humans, everything about her just screams Jesus Christ.
Additionally, according to the jp dub, Ely is called "hito no ritsuja" which, although it can be translated to "Herrscher of Human", can also be translated to mean "The People's Herrscher," which is more meaningful and intuitive.
Makes sense why they'd use the former though, cause they wanna keep all the herrscher names consistent (herrscher of x).
You're exactly right, actually. The Last Banquet was set up the way it did because it is supposed to be a direct reference to the Last Supper, which is why Elysia wore a crown of thorns and roses to it, a direct reference to Jesus wearing a crown of thorns when he died on the cross, and of course their sacrifices being parallels wasn't coincidental. She is literally The Jesus Christ of Honkai Impact

Bruh the people who keep saying power of friendship really didnt pay attention to the ER plot and the characters. Elysia was the unifying factor for them all. They all werent friends, some hated each other. But they loved elysia. They believed in her in life and even as sims. They believed in her and that ONE DAY a herrscher could also fight for humanity. Thats why they put everything on the line for this final battle knowing the end game coming for them all. Theres so many little details people arent even noticing. Sakura was allergic to pardo and couldnt be around her, Mobius was annoyed by ely 99% of the time and had to lovingly get the last word in on her terms, Griseos stubborn but determined posture and Kosma having her back, Aponia and Kalpas being some of the closest to Ely and fighting side by side) Even if they didnt like each other, they all got to fulfill Elysias dream of the flame chasers fighting together to save the world. They saved Mei and the world from the HoC and Kevin in the CE had to sit by and know the last remnants of his cohorts, of elysia, are entirely gone now. But they achieved their dream. Now its time for Kevin to fulfill his role and soon he can hopefully be with them, as he deserves. (But i do think Mei still holds a piece of the ER with her and we will see them one last time when she has to power up for the last time AS the herrscher of thunder and she will become the herrscher of humanity or something akin to Elysia. I dont trust Elysia fading into the black and swallowing the light in her when Mei accepted the ER into her mind as well)

Ending shots killed my soul. It's amazing how ordinary and extraordinary they were at the same time. Just a bunch of typical nobodies who stood up in the face of danger and took upon themselves the pain and suffering of mankind. Fighting endless threats and losing comrades so other people don't have to fight and lose their families and friends.
On a related note to that it’s really interesting how Kevin was like Kiana and appears to be fighting the Honkai with a bat like Kiana. Guess it runs in the kaslana bloodline.

In the last era, where they fought separately, the Herrscher of Corruption single-handedly put an end to the war against honkai.
In the end it was defeated but by that point, Humanity had lost and fighting HoTE was more of a formality.
But not this time. Now they're finally fighting together and the new Herrscher of Corruption was properly defeated, with it causing barely any damage to the world. This time they truly won against it.
It's beautyfull.
When listen to this song it’s like there is a story trying to be told. This song is like a whole book, this is a representation of a story of 13 that stood up to the world’s problems not to become heroes but to do what had to be done. They were only heroes because that is what people called them. And now all of their memories is carried by elysia and us. Honkai thanks for delivering this masterpiece.
I just love the amount of details that was put into this.
At first when Elysia was losing, the quality slowly get worse and worse and the 4:3 effect kick in almost as if it was glitching like those old vhs tape.
And then there's like this "rubberbanded" effect that you would usually occur in videogames when you have bad ping.
Leaving Elysia confused on why she's back to the place she had jump/move away. (Which is completely true to anyone who plays multiplayer games with bad ping)
And the quality slowly comes back from digital to those 90' anime style to current anime style and then full 3d render.
The amount of efforts that they put in are just... absolutely out of this world.
I love how her "Kiss" becomes some kind of godly energy beam. She does it so casually too.
I also noticed the aspect ratio change. Very creative.
Love the touch of her first attack after transforming literally blowing apart the old aspect ratio into the more modern one

Its really fitting that the herrscher incident that the flame chaser considered their biggest mistake from the Previous Era is the Herrscher they stop in the Current Era.
And they finally became the heroes they failed to be in the Previous Era. Sakura even helped take down the Herrscher who took her sister from her.

As Eden said, this ending ball of the flame chasers is just gorgeous and beautiful. The most grand and spectacular ending for all of them like Elysia said.
Can we talk about how all of them stood tall in an unwinnable war? That's one of the reason why I admire them
Gorgeous story! The flamechasers are still fighting even after death, and their sims wiped out an actual herrscher from the current era for the sake of the current era's humanity. I can imagine elysia just saying all of this while fighting, talking to mei and us captains to push forward and reach a happy ending, and they hoped that with this story, they have lighted a new way for the CE, and with them helping the current era for the last time in their last stand off, all while making it a "grand and spectacular" ending to their show. Now it is time for Mei's and our era to step onto the stage that the flamechasers once stood on, carry on their wishes and continue to fight for the same future they once fought so hard for. The stage may be dusty from time, but it still stands for us to perform our journey on, what a solid stage that the FCs has built for us. That is some next level story writing. So many messages, absolute stunning storywriting, and touches the very core of the human heart.
The flamechasers all standing together side by side in this animation and helping elysia in defeating HoC was remarkable. It banded them all of them together, for the first and last time, and trusted elysia so much they all handed her their signets , despite ellie being a herrscher, which was one of the prime reasons why MOTH and the flamechasers existed in the first place.
I think that says enough about elysia's personality already. She's a pure and noble soul, and dare i say, a perfect human.
I also love the absolute plot of all this, you know when sakura says, "this is something history has never seen before"? it means that this was actually the first time all 13 fought alongside each other, and it was also ironically elysia's last wish and the flamechaser's last stand, right before the end of their story. beautiful, isn't it? They're passing on their unfulfilled dreams and desires for a peaceful world without the honkai. But their torch hasn't flickered out just yet "because of you." They keep fighting "because of you." They get to showcase their last battle and their spectacular ending "because of you". CE's humans are still humans, what the 13 heroes had banded together to protect in the first place. The title has ironically so many different meanings it could mean, and most of them make sense, which is so touching and beautiful- it could also be ellie addressing everyone of how much she loves everyone, or also the other way around, everyone addressing elysia that a reason that the flamechasers came so far in protecting humanity was because of her, and her pure and noble intentions.
here are elysia's words for mei (and us captains?) during the animation;
"Look, they've lived with pride, and sung a beautiful ode to civilization with their lives.
This is the story of the people called Flame-Chasers..
It's about the unfinished journey of the thirteen.
However, visitor, your road ahead never ends, right?
Then follow your heart and move forward.. (HoC attempts to rewind time.) We agreed to move forward!

These words tell you so much in just so little lines. Elysia's "ego", the story of the 13 and their noble cause, and so much more which touches deep into your soul.
And the Elysian Realm finally wraps out. Seeing my fave flamechaser Kalpas being animated even just in a few seconds got my eyes bawled out. I will for miss his weird sitting on top of the table, his freaking 3D massive ass and of course, his maniac laugh. Out of all the flamechasers, Kalpas will always have a special place in my heart.
As always the animation short is a total bangeer! Elysia showing how a badass Miss Cutie pink elf she is. It's a shame tho, we didn't hear Eden sing her final song when she departed together with the previous era. It would be nice to hear it tho.

Yanning's voice acting as both Elysia and HoC is just completely mind-blowing, the way her pitch goes slightly higher when HoC imitates Elysia just to later on drop the act completely throughout the fight and become so menacing and dangerous 👌👌👌👌

The animation keeps getting better and better with each cinematic! While my personal favorite is still and probably will remain everlasting flames every animation holds a special place with me as absolute masterpieces in each their own right. This was the perfect conclusion to the stories of the 13 heroes of the previous era.

IT’S MY GIRL’S TIME TO SHINE!!!! Elysia is one of my two absolute favorite characters. And her Herrscher form is so gorgeous. 4:44 that is so perfect
This whole thing was magnificent, I loved seeing Eden, and then Mobius, and the rest of the Flamechasers standing by Elysia one last time.

This was honestly the perfect send-off for the Thirteen. Their heart, their core Elysia leading them in one final triumphant stand against the enemy. And though they all may fade away at the end, their story will live forever.

i think what this animation accomplishes is the meshing of many different styles, both 3d/2d, Filters/lighting from across the ages, Using different display sizes to distinguish the inside of the hercherr and outside, into one fluid /interesting/emotional/badass sequence
while keeping us engaged without breaking immersion
