Just did this on my 2000 XP. It sat indoors for 16 years. replaced all grey fuel and vent hoses. Freshened up the jet pump and cleaned the rave valves. What a job! Next time i think i will remove that pipe. That abyss eats everything. Was out this weekend, ran just like i remember. Special thanks to "Greyghost resurrection" and "Today we wrench".
@@peteranania7166 SeaDoo makes a tool, its basically a 13mm (i think) bent wrench. (about 45 degrees) To remove that bolt. I bent a cheapo wrench, it works and didn't use it. I will the next time. I think everything would have gone a lot smoother going back together. Things like getting the choke cable in, adjusted and tightened, throttle and oil pump in and adjusted etc. Just my thoughts, good luck Brother.
Dude! You are saving me so much time figuring this out. Thank you! After loosening the 4 bolts, did your carbs come loose easily or did you have to persuade them a little? Mine seem stuck to the engine
The carb does come out easily. Might have to keep pulling the bolts by hand. The threads tend to catch. Make sure you get a carb kit that has gaskets for both sides. It is possible to reuse most of the gaskets if you're careful
Thanks brother. I appreciate the video saved me a ton of time in the Florida heat. same engine and set up on my sportster

You have to take the carbs out to access a nut on the pipe

I suggest sticking a large towel underneath the carburetor so when you drop something it doesn't go into the abyss.
I misspoke. That's the choke cable on top. The throttle cable is connected to the wheel underneath
Thanks for thus! I'm getting ready to rebuild some carbs. I got as far as that last nut on the pipe and stopped.
Supposedly there's a special tool to get that nut off. But I haven't seen it.
I took the pipe off with the carbs on made a wrench to loosen that nut
Take pictures of much as you can so to make sure you reassemble correctly.

Get rid of those grey fuel lines. They will gum up your carbs right after a rebuild.
Hope that blue oil is Lucas and not a standard TC-W3 2 stroke oil.
