Legion 5 is with an amd processor, this is legion 5i
if that is the case legion 5i should get way less battery life when it is at 100% brightness than omen when it is at 50% brightness, but looks like both are kind of similar.
This laptop has the dimmer 120Hz panel, so at 50% brightness it is a lot darker than the Omen at the same brightness level. =)
I got the amd version. I can get almost 4 hrs of usage with quiet mode. On balaced mode, I only get roughly 3 hrs of usage. Disappointed with the battery

I got the acer predator Helios 300 over the legion 5 with the same specs cause of the more power in the gpu and cpu with the Helios 300 but I the legion 5i has better battery life but I prefer the better performance then more battery life
my legion 5 only does 3 hours of youtube with hybrid mode on, no backlight keyboard, quiet mode, 80% brightness and 50% volume.
I'd recommend upgrading the battery to 80wh

Awesome vids! Are you planning on a test on the Ryzen 4800H / 144hz version of this laptop? It would be really helpful given it seems to be a much more logical buy choice.
Thank you! My original plans was to test the 144Hz version of this laptop, but unfortunately that model is scarce where I live, and are paired with weaker CPU/GPUs.
Im not using the light on keyboard and i put the latop on saving battery mode, and in 2 hours I have drained to 44%! :( I thought it would last more! is this normal?

For me 2.5h from 100% to 5%. It s brand new! So it s weird..
try using quiet fan mode and battery will last much longer..

I’d honestly just leave the refresh rate at 60, but turn it up to max when you’re gaming, so you can squeeze a little bit more battery out of it

Lenovo has slightly better display while omen has a bigger battery. JarrodTech made a full in-depth video about it.

Imo, its better if you have a standard for doing the battery test... cmiiw but hp omen was tested with 50% brightness and legion 5i should be tested with 50% brightness too.... or is a 100% brightness in legion 5i equals to 50% of omen??
Yes, this display at 50% brightness is much darker than the Omen 15.

My laptop graphics card is identical to yours but I have a 144hz monitor and an i7-10750H processor instead of a 120hz monitor and an i5 10300H, but my battery only lasts an hour and a half when I browse the web. Do you know any tips that could help improve my battery life?
Check if you are using the dedicated gpu or the igpu(preferred) in the vantage app. I think its called hybrid mode.

Comparing display brightness nits is what makes comparisons fair. This Legion’s display is very dark at 50% brightness. =)
