- Welcome back to another Liveration video!
In this episode we had the pleasure of meeing up with Guy, a motorcycle enthusiast, who lives off grid in a tiny £200 caravan on the edge of a cliff on the south coast of Britain.
He describes his home as "bare bones" however he is very satisfied and greatful for the way he lives.
Guy has "everything he needs" a small solar set up for his phone and laptop, a small gas camping cooker, a hose pipe for a shower, and a long drop toilet!
He give us a full tour of this home and the land he sits on, as well sharing his story with us, of how he came to live in a caravan on a cliff top, along with the ups, downs and realities of living the way he does.

Well no, not now, ppl always known. But Gov criminalized being self living n literally that you have have a number of proofs of address to rent a mailbox, have a job, keep documents up to date, etc.
Gov set up society against ppl living w/o always paying for existing.
It's the inflation on cost w no increase in pay and the impossible affordable expectations that literally gave no choice but to become nomadic.
Not being able to afford rent is what pushed ppl to this necessity. No choice.
Too many people have gone too far, they are literally owned and physically enslaved
"You owe us X amount for being alive", sums up modern living especially in he UK
His reasoning for this lifestyle is bang on.Government want total control over everyone and everything but some of us just want to left alone litraly todo our own thing in our own way in our own time.love the set up my friend.
The irony of saying that... whilst he uses an app that's actually known the Chinese government use to steal data 😂😂😂
@@andrew_ep_curtis..i didnt notice that but its his choice.I dont have those apps for that very reason but....my comment was more directed at the lifestyle and being out from under the government boot.Being away from living in brick boxes surounded by people you can stand being around..

200 years ago, this bloke would of been one of the main men in the tribe. You can tell he's caring, versatile, knowledgeable and a bit of a unit. Type of guy you want in your circle.

I live in the Brecon beacons in my caravan, with my 5 year old som my dog and my cat.. been here 5 years! So glad I found this video. So spot on with everything!❤❤❤❤❤
I'm in a 2 berth 1988 model, I moved out to give my kids a bedroom each 4 years ago I wouldn't want to live in a house now lol

you are a great bloke . dead right in what you say . I am 75 , wife 73 and enjoy nothing more than locking the gates and enjoying privicy . worked for a large oil company for 35 years as a mechanic and the last 16 years on the road delivering fuel . I spent so many hours in that workshop under lorries . i enjoyed the driving more for the freedom out on the road . we had an identical caravan to you at one time as i noticed the name on it . I have been a biker all my life and would do that all over again . my wife also has shared my passion for bikes and she has a B S A Bantam 1951 and a JAMES CAPTAIN 1951 in our living room . dont change as you are very lucky to enjoy the life you do . I also like your TRIUMPH . We live about 3 miles from the Hinckley factory ,great cafe if your ever that way . best wishes .
Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.
I always found it infuriating that as an international truck driver with no family , I had to pay rent for a physical address to register myself as living at , for my driving license and digital Tacho card . I didn't actually live there but I lived in the trucks that I drove and in my camper , but I had to pay rent and council tax for something that gave me no benefit whatsoever .I have now left the UK and will never return

I was in the same boat .. I was renting a place I spent one weekend a month at . I have lived in a caravan 10 yrs now & love it . All my mail goes to my daughters .. I am banking into my savings 30k of my 53k salary each year. I have enough to buy a place outright now. But I wont . I am going to semi retire next year aged 55. Such a beautiful life.
Any other way to do this without a family or friends address?
I live In my truck full time, I have my bike with me... I work all over the uk. I'm free. I don't have or want a house. So many things this bloke says are spot on... refreshing normality...

I live exactly the same in Australia. I'm a lot older, owned 2 houses a
in the past and realised that stress was killing me . Now lively in a gypsy van with my motorcycle and do work to pay rent and a little more for essentials and occasional travel. Have been doing this for decades. Life is grand! (Oh I have a gas shower😉)

Bang on. We built an off-grid house in the woods, fits out lifestyle perfectly. We are happy. We love our life. We did a few TV shows, in one the production company kept asking us how much does everything cost. I said, you just don't get it do you. It's not about the money. If I tell you, viewers will think, oh, I could afford that. That's really not the point. Most couldn't live this life. You have to be tough, resilient, adaptable, self sufficient and so much more. That, makes you happy. This guy gets it, great video 👌

Anyone can do this if you let your partner exploit themselves for 15yrs and save hard. She will be old and undesirable to all the freaks one day so make sure you are saving for that help when you both need it.👍

I too live in my caravan, I live in it because I want to. People that generally dislike caravan living, are those who feel they had issues outside of their control, money issues, family break ups, forced into a caravan. Whereas those of us who choose this way of life, are pretty happy and content. I live frugally, I use solar. I don't watch tv - I watch nature outside. I read, I grow plants in containers...I work part-time, I don't want for much. Thankfully I have fantastic friends who let me use their address for my post.

I loved this life. I lived in a caravan about the same size as that on a friend's vineyard. I used to do odd jobs and maintenance . The caravan was plugged into the vineyard mains electric via a very very long extension cable and water from an equally long hose pipe linked to a home made water butt with a syphon pump. I was happy as a pig in shit. Had loads of problems with French red tape though. Banks wanted a recognised address and proof of residence. Health cover,insurance ,motor vehicle insurance and just about anything was very difficult. In the end it all became too difficult and I had to move to a "real" address . I had to register here,register there,supply justifications for anything and everything just so I could pay organisations money so I could live to go to work so I could pay rent. I hated it. I now live in a motorhome most of the time and hopefully I'll soon have enough solar power to be self sufficient and I'll be saying fuck off world😂🤣
Me and my wife live in a motor home on and off for 22 years ,we won't be living in a house ever again ,one reason is if we rented a house and associated bills we wouldn't have a life, so we've opted to have a life and sod the bills ,not for everyone but thats a good thing and yes the government want you were they can mace you for money, well up theirs is my answer
Possibly the BEST video I've watched this year! Finding out at a young age (relatively speaking) that the keys to happiness are simplicity and the awareness to be grateful and content with what you have.

I use an electric element in a 20 litre bucket for a hot bucket bath. Lovely. There is no need to have a cold shower.

People who moan, 'Oh, it's alright for him, living on free land' should watch it again. He got the use of the land through a friendship and it sounds like Guy has a good bunch of mates. He works the land and helps out where he can. I bet the land owner is happy that they have a 'useful' guy on site, if you know what I mean. Imagine waking up, turning over to that view! Guy is correct, they don't want us to be free.

Another great insight video guys,Sadly her in Australia they make it very hard to do this even on private property councils have ordered People out of set up caravans and tiny homes,it is crazy stuff.As a Person that has worked Manual work for 44 years and done the so called "normal" way of life i am questioning every aspect of this and searching for a more simple way of life that makes me Happier.We do Van life now but only part time after selling house to be closer to family but seriously getting closer to some sort of fulltime stuff as this world now is so geared towards wealth it is crazy stuff.

Britain is a lovely place especially the South West, seaside and countryside. Many people pile on a plane to go to an urban sunny place, but its nature that is escapism.

What an amazing guy and I would more than happily have this sort of lifestyle and be incredibly self- sufficient and ignore the noise of this troublesome world. I definitely wouldn’t say ‘Poor sod’ - I’d be saying ‘you lucky git’ lol. I totally believe that we should not rely on the government at all.

Every winter I used to put bubble wrap on my windows...it helped and I kept the curtains closed. Stick it on with water Octoberish and take it down April.

i done the same thing a few years ago. 15 years in security and living in large towns.
i got a motorhome the same size as that caravan and off i went.
so many people llooked at me strange then said they loved my life choice.
being a moho i could take it anywhere, i had a small 4x4 as a daily driver but it was nice taking my home anywhere. great views, less bills and a load of freedom :D
and i kept a full time 9 to 5 job :D

I lived in a double decker bus before this current project and wouldn't live life any other way .

I was stoked until he said he has no form of heat. Glad he has the gumption to put up with that. He's clearly living his best life. Can't beat that.
A wood burning stove is easily attained if he wanted
Or a diesel heater. I did 2 winters in my van without heat, but i'm a slim woman who feels the cold. I survived but glad to have a diesel heater for this winter.
A chinese diesel heater and an instant hot water shower would change this guy's WORLD 😂 Fair play to him 👏🏻
You mean a Japanese kerosine heater and a gwater gas heated shower.

Kerosene heaters are not viable for caravans, (carbon monoxide), diesel heaters are much more suited.
I really don't mind the cold showers 😅
@@IamGuyMarkhamI tried a cold shower once in the middle of summer as it was just too hot for hot water.
I gradually turned the heat further and further down until it was ice cold and it was so bloody refreshing and energising!
the only problem was it physically took my breath away, I've tried to have cold showers since then but I just can't hack it! 😂

A man after my own heart! This is proof that you don't need all the fancy luxuries and toys, in order to enjoy life. When you strip it back, you really don't need many material things, or great wealth, to have a happy existence. If you're the kind of person who appreciates nature, and the simple things in life, this kind of living can be more than enough.
Decent bars on the Banjo there, and I detect a Scouse accent on the Lady presenter. Good on him doing what he does. Leave people alone, we are NOT slaves, Freedom above all. I grow a lot of my own food at home and show people on my channel how easy it is to do if they give it a try. Only today I took some Blueberries to my Barber when I got my haircut and she was amazed at the earthy taste. We need more homegrown food before 'they' take full control of all seeds and supply. For the past 8 years, I've been living in a tiny trailer house I built. I retired nearly 4 years ago and live very comfortably. I'm situated on a farm and do odd jobs in place of rent. Got rid of my car several years ago and own a motorcycle.

Great vid, great chap Guy. I have previously discussed with my wife, buying some land and going off grid. Buying an old railway carriage and converting it. We do have own a house, but it's not just that, its all that comes of being free or not free. I am heading to retirement and want to live a life that is free and remote from others, I mean a couple of miles away from people, not to be a complete hermit though.
If I had my time over again and lived in this age of being able to make a living online, then this is definitely the way I would go. I'm a biker as well and love the feeedom it affords you
