You gotta thank the universe for Soham. Just typed 'crystal cap' in and breathed a sigh of relief when Soham showed up. He's just the best. The soothing voice is an added bonus.

This is a great video. My sister and I made a cap for my brothers Elk Ivory's that he brought home from a hunt up north. He was very proud of them. We made it them in copper, so we used Epoxy instead of pushing down the edges, as copper is a little stiffer than fine silver. I put them on a braided leather choker and he was pleased.
I wanted to let you know Soham, that I learn so much from your video's. I have taught myself silversmithing, enameling, etc., from on-line resources like this. I know that you also taught yourself from books and I know you would have loved video to help you.
So thank-you for taking the time to do all of these great educational videos, and passing on your knowledge to all of us. It is very much appreciated.

Better than my art teacher in my college class with explaining and the visual learning is much easier to see in this video than in a class full of people and u can’t see close enough during the lesson.

Great video Soham! thank you so much for all your videos!. Ive seen alot of these style pendants where the cap consists of just a very thin layer of silver that looks like it have been melted around the crystal? some kind of silver leaf flake sheets? Anyone knows what people use to make that?
(im not talking about lostwax casted dripped settings´)

Just watched for the second time. You make it look so easy. When I started working with metal, I said I would never be interested in stone setting because it looked way too difficult. I'm now ready to try this project and bezel making.
Thanks so much for the great information. I have one question - what is your trick to sawing so quickly. It talkes me forever to cut out a small piece so I usually use my shears.

Where can i buy pre made caps like yours? Ive been looking for several years online and had no luck other than cheap crap from china. I have the capability to trim the crystals to get a proper fit but to make a cap by hand? It will take a month to sundays.
Id rather buy several sizes and go from there.
    Please help me! ☹😫

Heya gem/metal community! I'm looking to set a raw stone like this with a metal setting into the end of a wood wand instead of a pendant or ring. I don't know very much about metal settings as I'm just beginning to explore it. What kind of direction from here could I go with learning more? This video is in the direction I'd like to go but I'm curious about mounting that to a wood handle.
