There is a visceral satisfaction when you finally manage a grab on a speedy character or when you endure an opponents offence and manage to hit them with your big move that is very addicting.
I love the rush of making a hard read hpb when someone wakeup's with a dp or just getting that feeling of "I've got your reactions downloaded" time to pumish 😈
Honestly robot is just absurd sometimes, like, i literally just landed that air garb of his and both me and my opponent knew the game was over, 60-80% of his lifebar in one combo and lots of meter for me to super and KP, he had no chance.
I still remember the special edition for BB Calamity Trigger that came with a DVD containing guides made by experienced players. While every other character got a fairly dry and straightforward breakdown, Tager got a full presentation in a horrible fake Russian accent that taught you how to do GLORIOUS SOCIALIST DAMAGE. Grappler mains are just built different.
4:20 The correct answer if you were curious is to swing into them. With your meter you can red Roman cancel this breaks the armor and prevents guessing.
My friend mains Potemkin, and the scariest thing he does every time is Hammerfall > PRC cancel > Kara buster, it's always gets me off guard. I respect grapplers, although they delete my HP from existence, they work a lot on it, and it's not that easy as it seems
Not gonna lie i've been playing grappler characters (gief, pot) since i was a little kid in fg and every win still to this day feels so satisfying and the grappler community is like unironicly so wholesome it just makes me very happy
as much as i don't like to play as i grappler, i strongly encourage people to play with them, playing AGAINST a grappler is the most scariest shit in a game
I've just found your channel and a lot of old channels I watched based on pot/grappler players have stopped uploading. Really great stuff man keep it up, this makes me excited to pick up gaming again and I've comr back to strive after a long hiatus (I quit playing when happy chaos first released)
I have only in the last couple years got into fighting games. And for me no matter what game or genre now whenever anything happens. Whatever is closer to pot, zangeif, or tager in terms of gameplay is what I root for I'm grapplerotted to the core
Why play a grappler: Tons of hp that let you make tons of mistakes, and a win-con that deals tons of damage with tons of intimidation factor with none of the execution. Theres a reason why "churning the butter" and "eating glue" are used in parallel with this FG archetype 😂
I'm the only glu getter in my group of friends and it really feel like I'm playing a different game. I always describe it as everyone else is playing an action game. While I'm playing some sorta weird idiot chess.
Im not a grappler main, but i think there is a massive difference between different ones. The main fighting games i have experience with are guilty gear strive and street fighter 6. Zangief to me feels way more fair to fight against than potemkin even though gief is generally considered to be higher on the tier list. Potemkin is just incapable of playing footsies. He moves and plays neutral by using special moves, not manually moving. His kit is basically all neutral skips: slide head, hammer fall, mega fist, white wild assault. It feels very 1-dimensionsal. When pot charges hammer fall from full screen with meter and just guesses right it just feels lame. Gief actually feels way more interactive to fight against. He has no real neutral skips; he has to use smart spacing to get in. I think some amount of neutral skips are a healthy part of the game, but characters like potemkin, nagoriyuki, and slayer who exclusively play neutral with neutral skips are just toxic design
Ring of Destruction Slam Masters 2 made me like doing special throws. All the characters in that game have a Super Throw It is very cool and satisfying doing those throws. Black Widow and Gunloc are my favorite characters Hope they re released that game one day
Honestly I play grappler for the strikes and anti airs. I want big buttons with prolonged active frames and good answers to jumpins. I really hate SF6 Gief for having neither and love Pot for having both.
As a Zangief and Potemkin main I love this video it’s so true! Grappler brain is a very real thing lol although I do main Zafina instead of King in Tekken 8 😅
"Why would you play as a hulking brute instead of a speedy assassin" Because the speedy characters are lame and the grapplers are cool as hell. The end.
I don't like to play as a grappler 😅 I much prefer charge characters 😊 Ryoko Izumo (World Heroes), Ryoko Kano (Fighter's History) and Shermie (KOF) are the only grapplers I like to play
No one likes them, they're fake skill easy to play and their players are always complaining and talking about how they're so weak and how they're chads for playing them, they have an extremely simple gameplan and grappler players would struggle harshly if they had to play any other archetype

As a wise man once said, “just don’t get grabbed”
As someone who plays a grappler in a TURN BASED fighting game, the point of fear is so true.
Which game?
@@devchawda9414 yomi hustle most likely

Yo i recognize you. Yeah Robot is fun as shit in Yomi. Thats where you can truly let the psychological terror of a grappler come to full fruition.
The whole reason I go gym is to look more like grapplers
I'm already recognized as that one Potemkin cosplayer at events
"The world is your to grab" give this man an Oscar

That's how I fell in love with Tager. I've played grapplers ever since

I thank you for the sole fact that everytime you showed a mix up u showed the whole cutscene of the move , as a potemkin main myself this was bliss

Free Hugs.
I love strive cuz it lets pot abuse the system mechanics to chase down smaller characters it’s awesome
Manon not even mentioned. SAD.
I’m a grappler main and I’m proud to be one also always felt natural to play a grappler and I just enjoy playing grapplers love em
As my name says, i'm a grappler player, and i love grapplers. I love grabbing people
I am a loyal fan of the grappler. Thanks for the fantastic video!

Gief had to be buffed to play footsies. He literally used to walk and DR too slow.
@@bazzfromthebackground3696 yeah season 1 gief was too weak, but now he's in a good spot
