🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 When you listening pink floyd EVERYTHING IS IN THE LYRICS ❗️ Really like to see your reaction to this Pink Floyd Song 🎵 The great gig in the sky 🎵 Enjoy the lyrics 😮😂😂 ✌️👍🏻👏
Hey guys!!! I'm from Argentina. I remember when the Pink Floyd's album "The Wall" came to Argentina in 1980, I think, I was 15 years old. At that time I didn't understand a Word, but every time I heard it, every song gave me different feelings. I felt angry, sad, exited, etc. So, because this album, I told my parents that I needed to learn English. Because I needed to understand the meaning of those amazing songs. Because of them I studied English, and now I have a poerfull tool . Thanks Pink Floyd!! Greettings from Argentina
The first time I really listened to the words of this song, I was crying by the end of it. I actually had the great privilege of attending their concert in 1994 when they came to Birmingham, AL. It was absolutely mind blowing. An experience I’ll never forget and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.
if you listen to the album from start to finish it tells a story of life and death . you have to listen from start to finish to get the full effect of the album. truly a masterpiece that puts you in another dimension
It's my go to music on a long haul flight. I just listened to the entire album on a flight from Dubai to Singapore. Fabulous. I forgot I was squashed into a cattle class seat...it just took me to another place
Pink Floyd puts you in the mood they want you in for each song. That is why the intros are nice and long. The words to this song as you get older they become truer every day
3:16 Allan Parsosns ( of the Allan Parsons Project) was the producer/engineer of this album, he went in to a clockshop and had all clocks in the store go off at the same time and recorded it there on the spot, to make te start of the song. He was a protege of George Martin (legendary Beatles producer) and was still working in The Abbey Road Studio's when Pink Floyd came to record Dark Side of the Moon
Travis & Suzi Song's meaning is the true because as we get older as time goes by; the days get shorter. I am 59 and this year flew until next year, I will be 60. My suggestion is to live life to the fullest.
One day you will realise that there are many more years behind you than ahead of you, this song will mean so much more when you reach that point, I'm 61 the clock is counting down a lot quicker now.
I'm 70 yrs. old, yes this song begins to have more meaning as the years roll by. The rot-toms at the start are insane, Marantz amp, Marantz CD player and a pair of EV interface 3's with 12" bass radiator cones, can it sound any better, maybe if I had Vinyl instead of CD ? " and then when day you find, ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun " Well it's been 50 years for me, far out how did that happen. Love the Floyd. I'm now going to see if you did " Welcome To The Machine " their best song along with "Time" imo.
I am 63 now. I was 13 years old when this album was released. It was the very first album I ever bought. At the time, it was the song "Money" the reason for getting the LP. But as I listened to the whole album, I was mesmerized by all this new style of music (it was new to me at the time). I was listening to all the top 40 pop songs back then mostly and what is now known as Classic Rock was beginning to become a staple on the radio. I never really read into the lyrics back then being 13 and all, now though, I understand. It is amazing to me that this music is relevant today as it was back then. It definitely falls into the category of timeless. Like many my age say when we see these reactions by a new generation to the music our youth, I am truly elated that you are experiencing what we did back then with these tunes. There is an old Chinese saying that goes: I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand Obviously they didn't listen Pink Floyd. I heard and felt the music....I understood.
The live version from the tour PULSE 1994 is sublime, they feature many songs but also perform Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety, highly recommend =)
Actually 8 musicians and three backing singers to deliver the whole show, Dick Parry is the 8th musician, he's not on stage throughout just for the relevant saxophone parts.
A fabulous band and what the lyrics to this are thought provoking as are all Pink Floyd songs. My favourite album is Dark Side Of The Moon as well. 1973 was kick in 1973! 👍👍🤟🤟
I'm ready dating myself here, but I remember that it only took four people to perform this live. Plus whoever was running the soundboard and mixers. Early days like 1974 when concerts started moving into arenas. Still one of the shows that I can vividly remember after all this time.
best way to enjoy pink floyd is to get a full album make sure you got a couple of hours spare put it on and just drift away..... some of the best music ever produced.
I may have already mentioned this, but my first ex-wife was a bit younger than me, so I introduced her to Pink Floyd. The first time she heard this she freaked out a little because she had a "thing" about loud bells. But she fell in love the PK almost as much as I do.
Saw Floyd do the Dark Side tour, at Earls Court, London (my home) in the mid 70’s. I was in my early teens. Being a Londoner I’ve been to many concerts at all the landmark venues, but this one is the most memorable. They are just perfection. We have so much talent in our tiny country 🏴🇬🇧
I can't believe you have not heard this as yet, it is on a lot on various Radio and streaming channels and for good reason, top 5 song in Floyd's amazing catalog! If you have not, you need to hear Echoes, both the Studio, audio original and see the live performance of it at Pompeii 1972 in the ancient Roman amphitheatre, an amazing setting and take. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹♩
I have heard many reactions to this song and you both nailed the major themes. The observation that Floyd creates the long intros in order to put you in THEIR mood is very insightful and one that I have thought of, but reactors miss that. You didn't and it was the first time I have heard someone observe that. Fantastic analysis and great feel for their objective!
Love you guys! Great video. I liked "No one solos like this." True that! Nobody can bend a guitar string quite like David Gilmour. The man is incredible.
Suzie is absolutely right when she says: "Pink Floyd is so good at creating an atmosphere... if you actually listen to it". So to let yourself be carried away in the atmosphere of Pink Floyd, what could be better than their song (Shine on you Crazy Diamond, parts 1-5).
I saw them at the Oakland Arena for the Animals tour back in the day. Besides Nick, Roger ,Rick & David I remember a second guitarist standing back and another keyboardist helping out They did the whole Animals & Wishing you were Here albums then songs from Dark Side and others. Very cool stuff
In the original studio version it was just the four (David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, and Roger Waters), with backup vocalists the only other performers...lots of double tracking and overdubs. When they do this on the Pulse version, there are 10 people involved - 2nd drummer (Gary Wallis), keyboard )Jon Carin), and guitar (Tim Renwick), and three singers (Sam Brown, Durga McBroom, and Claudia Fontaine RIP). Bassist Guy Pratt replaced Roger waters in 1989. All this was done to better produce the studio sound without recordings (except for the intro clocks).
Hey Suzy-Q in the Netherlands these red cloths are known as farmers handkerchiefs :D nowadays used as protest against government on shutting farms down over nothing.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine Staying home to watch the rain And you are young and life is long And there is time to kill today And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun But it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way But you're older Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter Never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught Or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation Is the English way The time is gone, the song is over Thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away, across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells
at Pulse they're what, 2 drummers, 2 keyboardists, 2 guitarists, 1 bassist and 3 backing vocalists or close to that. ten people to make their sound this rich seems about right to me.
30 years from now come back and listen to this song again. It will have a completely different impact on you! the amazing thing about this that the lyricist, Roger Waters was only in his twenties when he penned this song as if he had a crystal ball to see the future of ones life.
I hate to inform you guys that this is the incorrect version. Whoever uploaded this turned the pitch up to avoid copyright. I've listened to this song so much that I could tell from the beginning alarms that the pitch felt off.
Actually just the band itself. Sometimes it appears as though they will add a rhythym guitarist or another keyboard but really they have performed it with just the band most of the time.
Back in the day pink Floyd Done a live performance on the song "Mother" 1980 I think in London? It is awesome! The Album called the "final Cut" nobody wants to mess with that one so it seems. Check out "The Gunners Dream" So Deep. Be cool stay safe.
Dark Side of the Moon, whole album, start to finish, preferably in a dark room or with black lights and lava lamps, a great set of headphones and an adult beverage or 3. On this album it was 4 guys and producer Alan Parsons back in, 1973.
Happy belated 4/20😁😎 Absolutely do the entire movie. The Wall. I had a great uncle who eventually lived 112 years. When I was in High School, he told me that living a long time was like taking one day away for every year you live. Now that I'm 62 it makes perfect sense. (non-sequitur)
The answer to the question about does it take alot to get the Floyd sounds is no, there are only 4 members of this band and they create everything you hear .
One of the best songs that has ever been made or will ever be made David Gilmour's solo just dots the i's and crosses the t's on a fucking epic song Good luck anyone trying to do this
"Time" and "Money" are 2 of the top 10 requested on radio'. Album has been on the charts over 14 yrs. went off for 1 wk. then back on for over 900 wks. Name one band that even comes close???????????
How much Pink Floyd have y'all reacted to ? Any Animals songs ? Please react to Dogs from the Animals album. It is obvious that you guys hear music. Not just Pink Floyd. It is always a pleasure to witness younger people react to 70's music. And to Pink Floyd, especially. Us who were kids and young teens when TDSOTM came out were blown away by what we were hearing, just as those are today who are hearing their material for the first time. Another Floyd album -- Wish You Were Here ( 1975 ) -- is about as amazing as TDSOTM. Animals ( 1977 ) is right up there with these two, although it might take a listen or two before it grabs hold of you. Meddle ( 1971 ) is also great, and was the album that was a precursor to what Pink Floyd would eventually produce, getting away from the mostly psychedelic material on their earlier albums. And as good as Led Zeppelin was, and many other bands that were around in 1970 or so, Pink Floyd stands out. I would put Yes in the same stratosphere as Pink Floyd, along with Emerson, Lake and Palmer. "Fragile" by Yes and "Tarkus" by ELP are mesmerizing albums, and are not close to being these bands' only great albums. But I still say Pink Floyd trumps every other band. Simply too good over a long period of time, realistically. With very deep lyrics to add to the ingenious music. I have to mention Floyd's "The Wall" double album ( 1979 ). While it is obviously a very good album, with some of their best individual songs, overall I think it is a step down from TDSOTM, WYWH and Animals. I'm sure many will disagree with me on this assessment. But that is to be expected. All 4 albums are incredible.
Ideally this song should be heard as a part of the whole album. And the way it was intended to be heard was as an analog quadraphonic mix (analog so your ears get the full, rich sound and the won't start hurting if you turn the volume up to even moderate levels). You'll notice that there are lots of spots on the record where you hear odd voices and footsteps wandering across the speakers. These were meant to appear as being behind the listener, who they figured would most likely be a stoner, and thus probably a bit paranoid - freak out! Now, for a really weird, but wonderful experience of this album, search for Dub Side of the Moon. Trust me, you won't regret it lol.
One of the best songs by one of the best bands ever. The lyrics hit harder every year I am alive.
Fact!
I listened to this album as a young teenager when it was first released back in the day, and I'm 63 years old now. It's as powerful and relevant now as the day it was released 50 years ago.
Always loved this song growing up but didn’t truly appreciate the lyrics till later in life. One of the greatest songs ever made.
@@GWHinCA … Yes! 👍🏻
Truth, my friend.
I have been listening "Time" since 1973. It hits harder and harder as you get older. I'm 76 so it hits real hard.
Time is ruthless.
A Pink Floyd masterpiece.❤
When this was made, only 4 of them. 4 insanely talented musicians!
That song is a total masterpiece in every possible way. Perfect music, lyrics, performance, arrangement and recording.
One of the greatest songs ever, both musically and lyrically.
Richard Wright's vocals and keyboard playing is this song's secret sauce--so brilliant.
One of Gilmours best solos for me. Just the perfect amount of notes and feeling. It’s the highlight of an absolute masterpiece.
Yes! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
When you listening pink floyd
EVERYTHING IS IN THE LYRICS ❗️
Really like to see your reaction to this Pink Floyd Song
🎵 The great gig in the sky 🎵
Enjoy the lyrics 😮😂😂
✌️👍🏻👏
I not only think this is my favorite Pink Floyd song, I think it’s my favorite rock song of all time. For so many reasons.
Odd
It's a lyrical and musical masterpiece.
Same, the older I get the harder this song hits

Was right there with ya, somewhere, lol.
I saw that tour in Tampa Stadium.
if you listen to the album from start to finish it tells a story of life and death . you have to listen from start to finish to get the full effect of the album. truly a masterpiece that puts you in another dimension

Pink Floyd is not just music. It's medicinal.therapeutic.
The older you get and as time goes by this song gets even more relatable.
It’s insane they could make an album like this at that age. Boggles the mind.

Best lyrics of all TIME, by far! 👍😉🎶
Ironically it is the most timeless song I can think of. It was relevant generations ago and it will be relevant in generations to come.
Travis & Suzi

I too am thrilled that a younger generation "gets" this great music.
'Thought I 'd something more to say' - just a heartbreaking line.
A song called Time with an intro that makes you wait patiently.
Hi guys, you should watch this song at the pulse concert live
Top of the top, today, tomorrow forever, powerful very powerful...❤
ain't no other way to describe it, I fucking love this song.
What a vibe you guys tyvm
The live version from the tour PULSE 1994 is sublime, they feature many songs but also perform Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety, highly recommend =)
I had the pleasure of seeing Pink Floyd Live 4 times in Philly
I always love you guy's reactions. Fantastic!
The line that stands out to me and I am sure many others is, "Shorter of breath, one day closer to death."
Amazing how people never think about breathing until you can't.
In the live version of Time from the PULSE CONCERT, there are 10 performers onstage. It is an excellent live performance.
Actually 8 musicians and three backing singers to deliver the whole show, Dick Parry is the 8th musician, he's not on stage throughout just for the relevant saxophone parts.
@@RushfanUK Like I said, 10 performers on stage.

The song gets deeper as you get older.
Sometimes it's good to heed the advice and wise counsel of musical.superstars. It is fleeting, for sure.
I know you're not album reactors so def do yourself a favor and run this from start to finish when you are alone and want to chill. Masterpiece Album
Right, it’s like writing a review of a chapter in a book
David Gilmour - electric guitars, lead (verses and "Breathe (Reprise)") and backing vocals (bridges and "Breathe (Reprise)")
Richard Wright - Farfisa organ,[14] Wurlitzer electronic piano,[14] EMS VCS 3, co-lead vocals (bridges)
Roger Waters - bass guitar, EMS VCS 3[1]
Nick Mason - drums, rototoms
with:
Doris Troy - backing vocals
Lesley Duncan - backing vocals
Liza Strike - backing vocals
Barry St. John - backing vocals
I may have already mentioned this, but my first ex-wife was a bit younger than me, so I introduced her to Pink Floyd. The first time she heard this she freaked out a little because she had a "thing" about loud bells. But she fell in love the PK almost as much as I do.
Best song of their best album. Just turned 69 and realize time is really slowly ticking away. As always love your reactions.
Knocking on 200,000’s door, you two…..congrats. You deserve it…very knowledgeable, respectful, and fun. This music makes me melancholy.
I can't believe you have not heard this as yet, it is on a lot on various Radio and streaming channels and for good reason, top 5 song in Floyd's amazing catalog! Most if these ppl are bullshitting..theyve heard it b4lol
You guys are my favourite reaction channel.
I once found my Vietnam vet uncle crying listening to this song I asked him why and he said you'll find out after you've lived, he was not wrong

Yes , yes. Your correct. I was trying to remember. From Thin Lizzy. Very good. You get a gold star 🌟 today

They went around London and bought every clock they could find and set them up to chime and ring at the same time. One take I believe
No one can be that happy when they really listen to this lyrics….
You don't listen to Pink Floyd. You experience Pink Floyd.
Hey Suzy-Q in the Netherlands these red cloths are known as farmers handkerchiefs :D nowadays used as protest against government on shutting farms down over nothing.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun
But it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way
But you're older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught
Or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation
Is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over
Thought I'd something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells
If that’s your intro I gotta say guys that’s wicked. Super talented
I first heard this when i was twelve. Now i am still moved by it. Even moreso.
Thanks travis ❤
One of the great guitar riffs.
David Gilmore.
Legend.

best band of all times 😎👍 when you can , react to Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away ( live to the delicate sound of thunder concert 1988 - 1990 )

de longe a melhor banda de todas
The 3rd verse is known as the breathe reprise..showing really that all the songs are interchangeable as one long song
David Gilmour A Great Day For Freedom live in Gdansk
The live version from 'Pulse' Earls Court London is worth a listen.
There are only four of them, but I imagine there is plenty of studio work to complete the full sound.
And of course, the backing vocals.
There are 4 men in Pink Floyd, so 4 people to perform this song/album.
Pink Floyd makes magic not music!✌🏻
Profound
This song/album is over 50 years old. Think about that.
Should have done pulse concert Time. This is still good
you need to listen to the entire album to feel and understand its holistic effect.
When playing live , they had 12 people
