Eric Martin's voice is Awesome! This song never gets old! Sadly, the drummer Pat Torpey passed away in Feb 2018 from Parkinson's. Such a terrible disease. RIP Pat. 💙
Shy Boy live from Budokan are phenomenal. So are Addicted To That Rush. Mr. Big did some very heavy songs but got known for To Be With You and Just Take My Heart. Their ballads
I was lucky enough to see them live here in Chicago at the House of Blues in 2011. One of my top 5 bands all time. RIP drummer Pat Torpey. He sadly passed away due to Parkinson’s a few years ago.
I thought down a similar path. But I associated the greens with envy. But as you say, songwriters never really tell us what they mean. Always saying they are open to interpretation and can mean different things to different people. Which I've always seen as a cop out.
I was at their show in Savannah GA when they got word from their management that this song had gone gold. BTW it was a great show. Billy and Paul with their drills. 🔥🤘
Got to see Mr Big open for Rush at the MidSouth Coliseum in Memphis in May of 1992. I had just graduated from high school and my girlfriend gave me the tickets for graduation present.
Met this band in 1989 right after their big hit, "Addicted to they Rush" came out. I literally bought their album the week I met them. They were sitting in a reclusive section of Dullas airport. I was in the military at the time. They took the time to talk to me... all of the band members. The manager just sat there and smiled. They all signed my guitar, shook my hand, and said goodbye. It was amazing.
Great reaction you two!! Loved this song when it first came out...still do! HIGHLY recommend Green Tinted Sixties Mind from the same album to hear how Mr. Big could rock out! It's a really good album! Cheers from Canada, eh!!
I don't even recall the number of times I have belted this out...much to the chagrin of my family. It's just one of those songs. Know what I mean. All the best. Cheers.
This band is essentially a supergroup. Billy Sheehan performed with Talas, David lee roth, and is regarded as one of the best rock bass players alive. Paul Gilbert is a monster guitarist, prior with Racer X. Pat Torpey (RIP) was the stand in drummer for American Bandstand & Solid gold, before his career with Mr. BIG. Ultimately succoming to to complications relating to Parkinsons disease. Eric Martin was a successful solo singer whom was discovered by Billy & Paul.
I vividly recall this song played in a school disco back in ‘92. And all the boys that liked this one girl stood around her and sang this to her. She did end up with each of them at some point over the years haha
It was almost a prerequisite for bands in the eighties to include a "Power Ballad" into their catalog. I remember an interview with Neal Schon, of Journey, that when they added Steve Perry to the band more females due to some the slower songs he wrote. Early on they were primarily a "jam band", due to their early roots with Santana. Lots of guitar, drums, and keyboards playing endlessly.
Saw them live in early '92. Great show. This song was their biggest hit as an acoustic R&B ballad. But they're a hard rockin' band. Check out their first hit in 1989 "Addicted To That Rush". My favorite song is "Green TInted Sixties Mind" from their '91 2nd album Lean Into It that also had this song "To Be With You". This is a Super Group, with bassist Billy Sheehan from David Lee Roth, guitarist Eric Martin originally from Racer X, and singer Eric Martin as a solo artist, and drummer Patrick Torpey (R.I.P.) who played with many artists like Tina Turner, Belinda Carlisle and was a studio drummer.
Their best song (in my opinion) is "Green Tinted Sixties Mind." The original lineup reunited in 2009. The live version of "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" from 2009 at Budokan is really good.
Excellent song so it always amazes me that a band can have a huge hit like this and then they don't have many or any other huge or even notable songs/hits. There are a lot of groups/solo artists with one or two hits and that's about it. Hard to fathom.
"Staring into the camera ....", if you want to see a video of intense camera staring, and also, an incredible voice, check out "El perdón" by Diana Navarro. On Mr. Big, incredible band, actually they are considered a "Super group".
Masterpiece chill out song ! Paul Gilbert a guitar virtuoso when he is on loose ! Billy Sheehan a bass tapping wizard ! Pat Thorpey RIP explosive drummer ! And last but not least Eric Martin an original voice ! They made good stuff !
Hola te hablo de argentina tendrías en incursionar más en los músicos ahí tienen a Billy Sheehan en el bajo y Paul Gilbert en guitarra ambos tocaron con Steve vai en alguna oportunidad en otros
The song is amazing! One of my favorites of the Era. Huge hit back in '92. I worked in a record shop at the time and sold a lo of Mr. Big CDs! But lets face it, this was literally the end of hair metal and hair bands. This and G&R's November Rain were the last two huge hits to ever come out of that genre of music. Grunge and Alternative Rock was literally taking over by this point in time! But I still love that song to this day!
Greens and blues are eyes. Rarest color on the planet. Yes. They were singing to both of you. You is a you. Man, WoMAN, doesnt matter. Now just have to figure out who Mr. BIG is....;-)
Check out Green Tinted Sixties Mind. Mr Big was a good band, but they actually have one of the best guitarists on the planet in Paul Gilbert, AND The best Bass player on the planet in Billy Sheehan!
The "greens" and "blues" are: Envy--one of many people looking with envy upon any man lucky enough to be with the woman in the song. And the blues of course describe how these poor guys feel bc they can't even dream about having a chance of being in a relationship with the girl.
0:46 "That was a long time ago." "Nineteen. Nighty-Two." I feel targeted. Just because this was all over the place in my middle and high school time. >.> :p
Greens and blues are metaphors for emotions, green being happy and blues being sad. The song is about a guy who is interested in a girl who only sees him as just a friend and he sees how unhappy she is with the guys she chooses to be with. He wants to make her happy for once. If I remember correctly, not 100% sure but, I think the drummer didn't like this song at first because he doesn't play in it.
Still waiting Babymetal - Karate, iine, BxMxC, Uki Uki Midnight, Catch me if you can, Doki Doki Morning, Road of resistance, this all from Live Legend 1997 Apocalypse album (Not new mashup compilation videos)

My favorite by Mr. Big is "Had Enough"...GREAT SONG!!
I love this song!!❤️❤️
BEAUTIFUL SONG! ♥️
I was lucky enough to see them live here in Chicago at the House of Blues in 2011. One of my top 5 bands all time. RIP drummer Pat Torpey. He sadly passed away due to Parkinson’s a few years ago.
This song is just PERFECTION is every way. The flow, cadence, harmonies, and instrumentation. I can still sing along to every single lyric.
Saw Mr. Big's 1st concert! They opened for Winger. I went to see Sheehan play bass. Chk out Addicted To That Rush
This takes me right back to starting my 20s and still love this song.
This was Eric Martins (singer) first song he ever wrote when he was a kid, i believe he said he was 13 in an interview about this song
He was 19 when he wrote this !!
Please check out the band EXTREME
song MORE THAN WORDS.
It's very much the same vibe and it's super fire
Already done!

@barsandbarbells2022 thank you very much! Love the channel
The rumor is "waited on a line of greens & blues", is greens (jealousy) and blues (depression).
But who knows.😮
I thought down a similar path. But I associated the greens with envy. But as you say, songwriters never really tell us what they mean. Always saying they are open to interpretation and can mean different things to different people. Which I've always seen as a cop out.
Great memories!! It has been awhile since I heard this one. ❤❤❤ Fabulous harmonies.
I was born in 1970. I grew up on and still love 80's metal
I was at their show in Savannah GA when they got word from their management that this song had gone gold. BTW it was a great show. Billy and Paul with their drills. 🔥🤘

Acoustically harmonizing balladeers: Mr. Big def' were a uniquely "big" surprise of
all of the diff' rock bands in early '90's! ;)
i absolutely loved this song!
Great reaction you two!! Loved this song when it first came out...still do!
HIGHLY recommend Green Tinted Sixties Mind from the same album to hear how Mr. Big could rock out! It's a really good album!
Cheers from Canada, eh!!
From Pittsburgh Pennsylvania I'm 58 and I listened to most of what you're channel has shown good ol Days 😜💯🎵🎶🎸💽📻🥁
hi guys great reaction love this 90s classic!!!
I don't even recall the number of times I have belted this out...much to the chagrin of my family. It's just one of those songs. Know what I mean.
All the best.
Cheers.

Such a feel good song. Lyrics are awesome. Thanks to you both.♥️♥️🙂
I love when their vocals come together during the chores
It was almost a prerequisite for bands in the eighties to include a "Power Ballad" into their catalog. Amazing power ballad. This song holds so many memories for me as I had just moved countries for a job.
That was Eric Martin lead singing. He had a band of his own and a couple good songs of his were
Don't Stop
And sucker for a pretty face.
Saw them live in early '92. Great show. This song was their biggest hit as an acoustic R&B ballad. But they're a hard rockin' band. Check out their first hit in 1989 "Addicted To That Rush". Check out Addicted to that Rush, live in Tokyo. It will rock your socks off...
Excellent song so it always amazes me that a band can have a huge hit like this and then they don't have many or any other huge or even notable songs/hits. There are a lot of groups/solo artists with one or two hits and that's about it. Hard to fathom.
My wife and I almost picked this song as our wedding song.
"Staring into the camera ....", if you want to see a video of intense camera staring, and also, an incredible voice, check out "El perdón" by Diana Navarro. On Mr. Big, incredible band, actually they are considered a "Super group".
Never heard of Mr. Big but I liked this.

Yes. They were singing to both of you. You is a you. Man, WoMAN, doesnt matter.
Now just have to figure out who Mr. BIG is....;-)
You need to listen to Extreme more than words.
The song "Addicted to That Rush" is probably their most famous song. Then you will also see how incredible the bass player Billy Sheehan is❤❤🤘🤘
Don't forget the amazing Paul Gilbert on guitar
Ahhh, yes of course Paul Gilbert, such an awesome guitar player. I was just thinking of the bass solo at the beginning💕🤘
Green tinted 60's mind by these guys' live is great, too.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Paul Gilbert, the guitarist is considered one of the best "shredders" out there.
Similar vibes: Patience by Guns N Roses and More Than Words by Extreme
Check out Green Tinted Sixties Mind. Mr Big was a good band, but they actually have one of the best guitarists on the planet in Paul Gilbert, AND The best Bass player on the planet in Billy Sheehan!

Please check out "Love Song" by Tesla and "Mama I'm Coming Home" by Ozzy Osbourne
HELLO !!! I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR YOU !! LISTEN DIMAS SENOPATI OF THIS COVER !!! DIMAS ’S VOICE IS ABSOLUTELY MOST BEAUTIFUL !! SO FAR !!
I'm gonna say a very rare song it's from kizz Mr Blackwell
Still waiting Babymetal - Karate, iine, BxMxC, Uki Uki Midnight, Catch me if you can, Doki Doki Morning, Road of resistance, this all from Live Legend 1997 Apocalypse album (Not new mashup compilation videos)
Can i suggest me and Mrs Jones by Billy Paul, if you haven't reacted to it yet. I'm new to your channel, I'm certain that you'll both like it ty
Welcome to this great channel, you should check out their back catalog...really great reactions to some of my faves....
I will NEVER stand in line for my "turn". Sorry, not happening. Especially at my age now... hahaha
This band was wrong place wrong time... Right after they broke through, Nirvana changed the music industry and hair bands went extinct...
this song was written about a male prostitute...my thoughts on mr. big.
This saying, your woman has a friend that is waiting on her. that woman friend thing. Woman has gay friend that not really gay. women lie song.
What a ridiculous song by a ridiculous band.
I’ve never hated her more than when she described 1992 as a “long time ago”…
