For Pete sakes People everybody keeps asking for the website he has it in the description and replied to a lot of people with the website JUST LOOK Thanks for the video
well this is one way to do it. I noticed your truck has tape deck... Buy a universal tape deck aux kit plug it in and you have the same thing in seconds without taking anything apart.
My 02 Sierra has the little tape player in the center console, & the main radio has the cd player. I ordered a new tape player from 1 Factory Radio that has a aux port built into it. Just have to put a blank tape in the tape player for the aux to work, but it’s loud & super clear.
The only ones I’m finding in the website you recommended are like 70 something bucks, is that the price bc if it is I’d rather get a cassette adapter for like 10 bucks
That’s a good question. I’m not sure if it would work or not. One that I bought needs to have a CD in the CD player for you to be able to use the aux cord. Look around online and see if there are ones that work differently. I think some of them have a physical switch that you can turn on and off, and that might work for you.
I got a 97 1500 pickup the keys used to turn back ward so u don't drain the alternator while u listen to the radio without starting the truck mine doesn't? Anybody?
Sticker shock. 😅 I mean itd be a nice solution but at the same time I could throw a cheap single din unit in with aux and bluetooth for that money, or less. 😅
I don’t know. That’s a different generation of truck. You can check the links in the video description to see where I got the adapter, and then ask them if they have one.
I have a 91 but the website only says this supports 95+. Was that adapter a 9 pin like the website has cuz I have the same and can't think of a reason this couldn't work
I don’t remember. I’ve gotten rid of the adapter since then and went with a whole new stereo. I don’t know if it will work or not, or why the stereos would be different. The one in the video was built to work with a remote CD player, so maybe they didn’t have remote CD players in the earlier models.
Is the volume level any lower than it was before? I saw a PAC box that does the aux but the reviews said that the volume was really low. I'm not getting that box, but was wondering if other adapters cause the same issue.
I don’t remember. I might have put a link in the description. I just searched for the year of my truck, and I found a website selling them. You might also find one on eBay.
Maybe. I’ve heard that some of the higher and radios on these old trucks have a secret code that you have to enter every time you disconnect the battery, if you don’t know the code, you can never use the radio again. Not sure if that’s true or not. My radio wasn’t one of those kind.
I relly want do that to my 1998 chevy thoe that i love what was the name of the kit aging pleas let me no an where u hot it so i can do it to mine seence i plan to keep my vechale
Could've just bought a cassette adapter for the tape deck for around 10-15 bucks. My radio in the 95 is different than yours, but it still has a functioning tape deck that works well with the adapter. I read in the owners manual where it said it wasn't recommended to use an adapter with the radio that you're using, but a friend of mine has a '99 Suburban with your radio type and the adapter works fine in it.
Thanks. I did that for about a week, but it ruined my cassette player and stopped working, and it wouldn’t play cassettes either, so we had to do this.
Ahh, that sucks. That's why the warning is in the owners manual to not use an adapter with this type of radio. Strangely though, as mentioned earlier, the same exact radio in my friends '99 Suburban still works fine with the adapter. Luck of the draw I guess. Keep up the good vids, as mentioned earlier I have a 1995 Silverado, and your videos will be helpful for future reference.
I know this comment is super old, but the reason your tape players decide to quit working is because of the belts inside. They get old and wear out, break. The cassette adapter just kinda speeds up the process because the tape player’s guts are being used again for the first time since the 2002 lol.
@@WooferCooker My cassette still is working flawlessly. Since my last comment, I bought a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the power outlet nxt to the cig lighter and I've liked using that waaay better than the cassette adapter. Much less trouble to deal with, and like you said, it doesn't wear out the cassette player. Btw, 2 years to me ain't super old LOL.
@@hoohoohoblin wow, it's $65 right now, bit expensive for me, for that price I'd just splice in an audio connector myself. But I don't have a CD player, so I need to figure out what kind of signal the CD player sends to the head unit to tell it "I'm currently playing audio".
I don’t remember. I think I did a search on the Internet for an ox cable, and bought it from some small audio company, but I can’t remember the name. I might have showed the UPC code of the product in the video.
alright cool, thank you for the reply. i searched on ebay and all the cables have boxes that they plug into. it's not just a cable like you have. i have a GM stereo that looks like that. Also, they are much more that $40....hmm, guess i'll look around :)

@@hoohoohoblin i was going to just do this to my stock head unit. then i checked on amazon and found a Bluetooth radio/speaker combo for under $50 bucks plus $25 for the install kit. lol
The head unit will cost you $60, but it's not that easy unfortunately. You need the dash kit and little accessories. But you need one of those PAC switch boxes or you'll lose your steering wheel controls, your amp, subwoofer. This particular car has a Bose stereo built in. If it was a Civic or something, by all means change the head unit.

I have the Delco with the cd attached to the radio will the same cord work with it?
Im half wondering that myself because i have an 02 avalanche. I have a sirius xm radio that requiers a 3.5mm and that would work perfectly
I could kiss you. This is exactly what I was looking for.
so this won’t work with the pocket? like my truck doesn’t have a cd player it has a pocket instead

Look around online and see if there are ones that work differently. I think some of them have a physical switch that you can turn on and off, and that might work for you.
No. You have to have an auxiliary CD player or cassette deck plugged in and on for the main stereo to switch the aux input on
Does your radio have the XM radio? Discount Audio told me that my radio has to have the XM radio but doesn't need to be active though! Thanks✌🏿
No. It doesn’t have the XM radio. It’s from 1995.

Is it still working good? I’m thinking about getting one for my blazer but wanna know if it’s still working good after 3 years
It probably would be. I ended up getting a modern stereo in the truck after the cassette player died.
Ok this might be a dumb question i have the exact stereo to slave cd in my truck can i still use my cd player normally when im not using the Aux Jack?
