Great vid m8! Call me naive, but i just can't get behind the idea that all ghouls are a ticking time bomb and will eventually go feral no matter what 🤷♂️ I don't think there's anywhere near enough research or evidence for the in game people to say that with certainty. i really do think that and the idea that they're brain eating zombies are just supposed to be an in-game version of essentially racism. Bethesda is known for not having the GREATEST writing and for retcons, but at this point, we have Billy the ghoul kid who was both isolated and probably severely limited in energy intake not become feral, we have Hancock who despite not having anything to do with radiation, became functionally identical to every other ghoul out there and not feral, we have glowing ones like Jason Bright who are literal conduits of radiation and yet are still not feral, and we have ghouls that have been alive prior to the war and not feral despite being around all the radiation or isolation whereas others that go feral in only a few days. To me, that shows it's not a guarentee. I think the drug that Cooper is taking in the show is Ultrajet. So far, jet and jet-related compounds are the most common inhalants in the game. Jet also "slows down time" (aka, is a downer) and the guys that sell it to Cooper seem baked af, itd make sense that they're taking jet, and making new batches. If Ultrajet only started in favor 3, it'd make sense that it is still a bit of a rarity. Also, when Lucy tries to tranq him, it has no effect and he says he does way too many drugs. It'd make sense that a standard downer wouldn't work on him because as Argyle says, ghouls have resistances to jet. I do think the genetics and radiation play a part though, like you said. i think genetics can help determine if you become a ghoul at all, like how Trash in FNV was unable to, and then the radiation can cause the Feralization, which is why Cooper eats and other civilized ghouls do as well.
I have a theory that the ghoul medicine that the ghoul takes is radaway mixed with mentats, because mentats helps with the intelligence and radaway helps with radiation
Hey Synonymous! Your videos are amazing! I've recently got into fallout really heavily, and I've ran across some lore I'd like to see you make a video on! (If you've made a video on any of these already, sorry!) - liberty prime - Marcus - The sole survivor - Mr. House
Imagine the Fallout Show Writers were creative, and would have made it so we learn Walton Ghoulggins Name by him sucumbing to Radiation Poisoning and uttering his Name uncontrollably. They removed the RadAway from the Label because RadAway gives you the Runs. Imagine being locked in Place for Years, pissing and shitting yourself.
Hey great video! I was wondering if you could do your take on the Great War and the Sino-American War? Seen a couple other videos on pre great war lore but would love too see your take on it!
I'd bet money that they changed the bags because the idea of a ghoul using rad-away makes 0 sense. Why if a ghoul is healed or is immune to the negative effects need to then "away" those effects? It doesn't make any sense and that's why it's only ever referred to as "vials". It's show lore to humanize Cooper and that's it and I'm fine with that.
If rad away are everywhere around the fallout map, it means its already radiation sick or ghoul on the pre-war ? So... Because of that, they made rad away on the pre-war to prevent ? Any lore about rad away?
I remember the first time playing fallout 3 and seeing ghouls run at me was terrifying They look scarier than fallout 4 ghouls... Not all have lost their ability to reason The intimidation perk works although kind of doesn't count because you're holding a Glock to their head😅
Makes sense we'd get, like, the 10th or 20th lore video on Ghouls at this time. We'll probably get another one after the show's 2nd season. They'll probably retcon the ghouls into being aliens or something

Have a great day, Sir. And God Bless. o7
The ghoul from Nuka break fan film is a great example of a ghoul slowly turning feral.
not canon, anyone could depict anything outside of canon and it would never be relevant to videos specifically talking about the canon lore
Oh wow! I didn't know that a fan made series wasn't canon. Thank you for enlightening us.
On a serious note he says the ghoul is "a great example" of a ghoul going feral. Not at all that it's canon.
@@crunchysalmons when did I say it’s cannon? I even said “fan film” which implies it not cannon anyway. Take that stick out your butt it’ll make you a much more likeable person.
Not to mention the way he turns feral & the way his ancestor tries to help him stay conscious within himself is the exact way stated in the lore video, keep social, remind them of their name, show them personal items etc
@@davedoessomestuff8176 people are just miserable lol
The Ghoul is a mix of Hancock from 4 and Raul the Ghoul from NV. Chems and tude
a video on the canon unique weapons would be cool
Synths next? 👀
Always a banger of a video, always has me hooked on the lore.
Nice to get a new video. I was needing it.
5:15 The fact that atleast one of those ghouls are her actual children might be a factor.
I have a theory that the ghoul medicine that the ghoul takes is radaway mixed with mentats, because mentats helps with the intelligence and radaway helps with radiation
But what about Insane Survivors from Vault 106 ?
I was dealing with them last night... 😏
Always love your content
Hey Synonymous! Your videos are amazing! I've recently got into fallout really heavily, and I've ran across some lore I'd like to see you make a video on! (If you've made a video on any of these already, sorry!)
- liberty prime
- Marcus
- The sole survivor
- Mr. House
Been waiting for this one! Keep it up man ❤️
7:50 honestly think the show should be ignored on pretty much everything lore wise, least till Bethesda uses it in a game
It's literally been called canon, there's no debate here.
Yo synonymous, awesome vid my dude!
Jolly cooperation!
We just need some weird post-post-apocalypse stem cell research. Im just imagining some follower being like "holy fuck i made neurons"
Can you do protecttrons next
Fun fact ferals dont attack housecats
Hey great video! I was wondering if you could do your take on the Great War and the Sino-American War? Seen a couple other videos on pre great war lore but would love too see your take on it!
Your videos are very cool, keep up the great work!
This wasn't released three days ago by accident.
Amazing video! Thank you for all your hard work!! 🫡
This man is single-handedly carrying my fallout lore addiction
I'd bet money that they changed the bags because the idea of a ghoul using rad-away makes 0 sense. Why if a ghoul is healed or is immune to the negative effects need to then "away" those effects? It doesn't make any sense and that's why it's only ever referred to as "vials". It's show lore to humanize Cooper and that's it and I'm fine with that.
The king has returned. Now king, bless us with an institute lore video please, your peasants need this gift
The ghouls turn feral when they don’t hit their vape like in the show
The tribal languages of zion would make for an interesting video.
We are so lucky that in our reality our Ghouls just like Fenta
Can you do scorched scorched plague next?
He's taking Jet.
apparently, fallout 1, 2, tactics, don't exist.
That was literally covered in the previous video, this was looking at something the show added.
If rad away are everywhere around the fallout map, it means its already radiation sick or ghoul on the pre-war ? So... Because of that, they made rad away on the pre-war to prevent ?
Any lore about rad away?
Maybe radaway cut with jet or the super jut made from sugar bombs
That we had in fallout 3
He has spoken
When I learned the difference between Ghouls and Feral Ghouls I was a better Wastelander
I remember the first time playing fallout 3 and seeing ghouls run at me was terrifying They look scarier than fallout 4 ghouls... Not all have lost their ability to reason The intimidation perk works although kind of doesn't count because you're holding a Glock to their head😅
great vid 100% watched it
Makes sense we'd get, like, the 10th or 20th lore video on Ghouls at this time. We'll probably get another one after the show's 2nd season. They'll probably retcon the ghouls into being aliens or something
God, the salt over that series.
Generic comment for the algorithm. Please continue making content. Thank you.
Marie Curie and her daughter turned feral 💀
Wow, what a spoiler alert!
Thanks! /s
Great videos, appreciate it!
Now we've got magic serum that appeared out of nowhere completely undermining the whole history of ghouls and the chance to turn feral seemingly at any moment.
Uh, no...? Not at all.
Radiation sponges.
glad you covered the feral Gouls my friend
Why does the video pic look like the scene from the Scorch Trials
Judging on that scene where our Ghoul inhale the stuff, I’m thinking it’s a mixture of Jet, Radaway and maybe some other unknown stuff.
Another banger!
Thank God I was worried I’d have nothing to listen to in traffic. A true savior
