Time attack really had came a long way, 57sec for an FC...I still remember how back in the days breaking the 1min barrier was consider a big big deal, and the 55sec HKS Evo earned absolute legendary status...damn!
Next time someone tries to tell me how RWB ruins a Porsche's driving geometry, I'll show them this vid c: I hope to see more of the NA that you featured in the last shot! :)
great video! as someone aspiring to do this myself, this was a nice treat. only one s13 out there and he did awesome too! now to find some of his specs :)
+EstupedMexicanz time attack drivers build their own cars, anyone can do it! if you want to get started time attacking, i suggest you get a car that has a strong aftermarket support (if you don't already have one). Go to an open track day (your car will need to pass a safety inspection before the allow you to go on track)and get the best time you can manage and record that time. this is your baseline, as soon as you get that and you decide to go further you are already a time attacker! then you need to do 3 things. 1. Weight loss, strip it to a bare shell and seam weld it, this makes the car handle infinitely better than stock. 2. you will need to equip the proper safety equipment for your car. this also means that you should make sure everything on the car is in good shape and reliable. upgrade the brakes and roll cage accordingly to your planned power output. ( don't blow all your money on a fast engine, if your chassis cant handle well with its original powerplant you will fail!!!) 3. get seat time! after you do the first 2 things you need to get time at the track to see how it handles and adjust accordingly. thats all there is to it really, the first time at the track starts your time attack journey. how far you will go is based the amount money, data, and time you dedicate to the sport, and it will show on your track times. the best part about it is its not really a competition in the traditional sense, the only time that matters is the one you set.
+Joshua Fallet Awesome, I have an 08 350z, the only mods I've done to it are switch the oem brake calipers with brembos, change the rotors to stoptechs and brake lines to ss lines. I definitely want to get into this when I have a job that makes me good money lol. As of now im jobless and a freshmen in college.
+EstupedMexicanz there is a wide range of competition in the wtac (world time attack challenge). if you check out their website they should have all the rules and regulations listed for each class from street class to open class. the wtac rewards the top 3 drivers with the fastest lap time in their respective classes. the whole game is you vs you though. you wont be racing in the typical sense where you will be going through traffic. definitely shoot for the top! just understand the guys on top will always be there with a full team of experts to get all their settings just right to land that perfect time. so just know if you want the top spot you are going to need sponsors and a tech at the very least. for starters in your situation I would get your z all sorted out and shoot to be the fastest z in your class.
Thank you for this video.. Great format, and simply awesome footage.

This is awesome, I'm really starting to like time attack races, are these drivers pro? Can anyone race? If you're a beginner where do you start off?

its certainly a great starting point! i wish you the best on that.
+Joshua Fallet Ok and thanks for all the info, one last question, is there any competition in time attack or is the only competition yourself?
