Dude’s face lit up, and he started smiling when talking about LeBron’s & Rondo’s IQ. That tells you that dem boys are BAD MEN, & on another level.

Thats how Goku mastered Ultra Instinct. Goku learning from AC.
I hear what he is saying. You do all the work (study) before the game so during the game you just react.
Back to reality. Many fans try to make it more intelectual than it is. It is sport. It is about body motion. Instinct is definitely the word.
That's basically called muscle memory.... You practice certainly move or defense event many times in your head, then you react unconsciously without thinking about it...
That’s why I love watching LBJ and Rondo play together, it’s crazy how they are so much smarter than everyone they play against. Cause it used to be so fun to watch them battle each other! Those Celtics vs. Cavs and Celtics vs. Heat Playoffs was a dope era!!
Mini Golden age
Yes your lediva is smart on the offensive end only. Do you see him putting an effort on defensive end? Remains to be seen mate
Different times. It’s a young man’s game now. Best teams are still vet teams but the league avg age is way up.
@@jacklauren9359 yeah cuz LeBron is 37 years old... In his prime he could lock up anybody....
Imagine rondo in his prime with those heat squads instead of Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers. Well let's imagine rondo in Cleveland with LeBron before he went to Miami.
When Lebron likes you and actually WANTS to play with you, then you're a HELL of a ball player. And that's exactly what he is. Caruso is a hell of a player. Just ecstatic that AC is on my team 🙌🏿💪🏿
I bet LeBron was pissed the ownership was too cheap to pay Caruso what he wanted, he wasn't asking for that much considering how valuable he is. Bulls got a great one though, y'all got hell of a team this year. NBA is a better place when the Bulls are good.
Fr ownership cheaped out by not paying him. He was even willing to go a little less.
@@AegonnTargaryenn that’s why rob pull the trigger on Russ, damn Lakers let go a good one

🤣🤣🤣 It’s called getting older in life. You’ll understand better once it starts happening to you in life… You see what all that extra wisdom has done to AC right??? 😳🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Reminds me of what Shumpert said in an interview about transitioning from the Knicks to Lebron and the Cavs.
Shump talked abt how Lebron knew each guys shooting percentage at different spots on the floor (and how that would determine if he let them take the shot), predicting a teams defensive scheme bc he went to a camp with one of the coaches, to (like they said in the clip) Lebron just straight up calling out opposing teams’ plays while/before they happen. The man’s brain is honestly fascinating. (If anyone wants the link I’ll put it below 👇🏾)

"When you usually start thinking on the basketball court. Bad things happen" he 100% spot on with that.
You don't have to be a super star to be a great player. AC is a great player. Insane B-Ball IQ
Unlike Russell westbrick
He the Goat
Reminds of Caruso speaking about players in the G-League. "Guys are interviewing like they're going to be CEO when really, they are going in for the job of the janitor" (not direct quote but something to that affect)
Too many guys there are forcing it, trying to play like a super-star while thinking that is what's going to get them noticed to be called up. The problem is that every NBA team already has their star players/scorers but way better than any G League "star". What NBA teams are really looking for in the G-League are role players who can plug holes in their roster. The scouts are looking for players who do all the small things correctly, the fundamentals, because those are the skills that can actually translate into the NBA. AC has done exactly that. He's never going to be the main guy on a team but he definitely plays a pivotal role and has thus carved himself a very nice career.
@@wuhanclan wish more players realized this you summed it up nicely not everyone can be a star
Stop it.. he’s ok but I’m not going too put him in the same sentence as other players who are great
The fact that he didn´t say "having a defensive mindset" tells you that he sees it as given. It´s part of his identity. You don´t need to remind yourself to breath in and out, you just do it naturally. Great guy

"Don't think....Feel."

Wow that was a dope conversation. That is the type of preparation and knowledge that makes one a team leader. He was a great piece for a team like the Bulls Who are creating a new identity. You have Derozen on the offensive side of the ball doing the same thing. This could be the best thing for Levine if he is smart enough to realize it and not get jealous. I see glimpses of both in him at times. If Zach is to be the superstar he wants to be he has on the team now people whose game he can take pieces from to do it.
Any time the Bulls get a good player other teams let go, I look to see the reasons why in their game. Like Vooch, I see the reason was primarily softness on the defensive side. Just like with Zack I see improvements but also see times when he resorts back to his old ways. The good thing is that I think Billy sees these things and is pointing them out to them. With that said I'm feeling really good about the direction of the team.
It should be Zach's team, not Dmar
@@ephraimudarbeiii5417 the organization want it to be Zach's team. A team leader is more than the teams best scorer. The successful ones make the right decisions when the game is on the line and make their teammates better. Listen to Donovan in post game interviews he says this very thing. In recent close games Zach shows he doesnt understand game situations by taking bad forced shots, shooting and missing when he should drive to the basket, making careless turnovers during crucial stretches and not playing aggessive defense. Yeah I agree it should be Zach's team but he has to improve his effect on winning. DeMar displays all those things I mentioned. You cant get fouled shying away from contact.
Caruso is so humble, he never said LeBron learned from him, which is the reality.. caruGOAT got a reason

@@gomotsomphatswe2249 cause Bron in Cleveland vs DeMar in Toronto is one of the biggest one sided rivalries in the last 10 years. It was so bad they started referring to it as LeBronto. And seeing how Lonzo and Alex are both former teammates of LeBron and now teammates of DeMar, who else would it be throwing a shot at? Zach LaVine didn't play Bron much cause he was in Minnesota, Vuc and Orlando couldn't sniff the playoffs.

The Four Stages of Competence:
--unconscious incompetence (they don't know they're incompetent)
---conscious incompetence (they know they're incompetent)
----conscious competence (they know they're competent)
-----unconscious competence (the competence is automatic, even if you don't consciously pay attention to the task... for example, if a person throws a punch at a professional boxer, the boxer will slip the punch automatically without even consciously thinking about it).
Caruso just change the whole narrative about basketball IQ by saiying ,,Don't think''
Only basketball philosophers go on about iq
Not quite. Basketball IQ refers to the ability to instinctively play the game and react in any situation the right way. It has nothing to do with thinking. The same way your normal IQ just refers to your natural ability to be smart.
Natural Talent helps
Basketball iq is natural instinct and reaction. Lol not players knowing stats and percentages. When hooping you don't even think about all that. Maybe player tendencies but you learn those as the game progresses. When they say "Ball iq" = natural instinct.
The thing about LeBron is he has photographic memory which allows him to remember exactly what plays your team likes to run and in what situations. It's so good that you can't play him in video games lol
Playing video games with LeBron James is so annoying.
"When we were growing up we used to play this fighting game on the Sega Genesis called Shaq Fu," says Brandon Weems, James' lifelong friend. "LeBron was the only one who had memorized all the moves and so he'd win every time. We all thought he definitely was cheating."
"When you play Madden with him now you have to be careful which teams you take, because he will know what your game plans were in the past when you've played with him and he'll pick the opposing team knowing what plays you want to run," says Weems, now an assistant basketball coach at Oakland University.
"You better save your favorite play, too, because he'll remember what you ran before in situations and be ready for it. Your only hope is to save it until the end and try to surprise him with it.
So yea it's seems kinda unfair for the opponent to know everything you're gunna do and exploit it.
AWESOME

I'll always love the Lakers bubble team. Not as much as past title teams, but I had the feeling in those playoffs that whatever happened, their IQ would allow them to win. Even being shitty 3 pt shooters. I also knew rondo would make some big buckets no matter what, and he def did.
This year?! Lol we still have lebron and rondo. That won't be enough though 😂

In short, Caruso explains playing by instinct is just playing ball the way you can.
He actually mentions Rondo 1st, Bron 2nd. Headline omits Rondo completely lol
Thinking and seeing things before it happens i m ok with thinking
DeRozen said AC has the highest basketball IQ of anyone he's EVER played with. Let that sink in a bit...
I am plastering the comments with the same exclamation. I saw KING JAMES himself, relying on Caruso to channel the ball through offense and defense with absolute joy.
He was smiling with joy that AC's work was bringing the best out if everyone. James relished the effective sense of community . He loved the sharing, and timing the it all comes together feeling.
James became a very pleased Shepard. James was more than generous with the ball. He knew Alex was changing the lakers in a winning and celebratory way.
James saw it and made sure it was nurtured. What a high that was.
Basically, Caruso is ultra instinct on defense
It's what psychologists refer to as system 1 and system 2 thinking. System 1 is intuitive, it's quick, it feels automatic. System 2 takes effort, you are aware that you are thinking. System 2 learning should occur outside of the game. Once you're in there it should be automated responses that have been programmed into system 1. Awareness relates to an ability to recognize patterns/stimuli that brings about the correct response. This comes with experience, but should also be happening almost automatically.

As a life long Lakers fan, I'm glad to see Caruso excelling in Chicago. Wish he was still in the purple and gold. I will always see him as a Laker.
I hope Caruso balls out and gets big numbers on the next contract.
4 Life!!!
When you look at any sport, even E-Sports (aka Starcraft 2, Street Fighter 5, etc.), winners just know what the opponent is going to do. How do they know?
1. Preparation - In basketball, looking at a players tendencies by watching film. Asking teammates to simulate the studied player, so that you can practice against it. That's what preparation looks like. The same happens in E-sports, especially in FGC (Fighting Game Community). In Starcraft 2, it's replaying your opponents games, going over how he plays with particular maps and the list goes on.
It doesn't matter what sport. Even life speaks about preparation. If we want to win in life, we need to prepare.
2. Practice - Practice is different from preparation. You already know what to do with preparation, but doing what we prepare for is a different thing. Practice is executing your preparation. Practice reveals the areas you are weak in and shows you in advance what you need to improve before the game. Without practice, your brain knows what to do but your body won't move the way your brain wants.
Practice is what separates you from everybody else. Practice is hard work. This speaks of life, too. In school or college, practice is doing the homework and studying hard. You might know the lecture, and maybe your colleagues know it, too. But when test time comes, and none of you practice, you'll look at your wrong answers and say, "I knew that" or "how did I miss that?" What we practice in life is what our purpose will be in the future. So don't treat practice as just "practice".
