    In London some people charge £6000 for supplying and fitting a mass-produced door (half the width). The joinery service you provide is fabulous.

    And also - store your paint cans upside down. That way you have a seal at the lid to keep the air out.

    Ollie, it is a joy to watch your work, but even more to hear you explain what you are doing and why. And, the tip for using the cling film on the paint cans is a game-changer: I have been using that technique since you first demonstrated it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

    The difference between craftsmanship and artistry is in the details. I don’t know if you realize that you are a couple of levels better than that. I’m a pretty good cabinet and trim worker but you raise the bar.

    Love the jointing tip with the filler.
    One thing, I hope the clients Mrs has ok’ed the colour, would be a pain to change 😂

    Love this and wonder about the relative cost compared to a similar door & frame constructed from uPVC or composite by one of the big replacement companies

    I delivered some stair steps I made out of all wood a heart doctor wanted ! I got there and there was this beautiful mahogany double door with side lights as you enter ? So I am impressed it looks like a real jointer like you built this !
    Then I see something weird? So I ask who installed this beautiful set of doors? “ oh we had our maintenance crew do it?” “ Why Sir?”
    So I deliver the news? “IT IS BACKWARDS “!
    Ppl always trying to save a buck mounting a diamond!

    Theres a heavy duty pad from Festool I use for the lower grits , lasts a long time

      @@BradshawJoinery yeah cork steel one - rep advised it was intended for lower grits 40-80 , I use it on the 105.

    Lovely work as always. I have a heavy duty contact pad on my festool belt sander. Its made of Cork and steel, I bought 2 at the time but I've never actually needed to change it so far

      i tried it when i bought it, have you ever tried the graphite ones? THe stainless one killed the accuracy of mine when i tried it. Sands very flat with the graphite, just a servicable item every few months, they are fairly good value to be fair,

      @BradshawJoinery I used the ones that came with it which were graphite. I've forgotten what they're like, I use it quite infrequently to be fair.

    Put some “ Flotrol” in your paint you brush on and with the right Purdy Brush you can hide those brush strokes ?

      i have put one finish coat on, but i think i will for the last coat, good gear isnt it!

      @@BradshawJoinery I absolutely enjoyed this build. I mean you can be a seasoned accomplished jointer / carpenter like you & still sweat these jobs and hv a few sleepless nights . Yes a good brush, paint, & some flotrol bring out the wonderful work like this job ! Just amazing , amazing joinery !

    I was wondering, don’t you wipe down Sapele with meths before painting? You don’t use a primer or undercoat?

    Great job - what make of filler did you use
    I use Ronseal 2 part filler as it dries really quick and doesn’t shrink

    Sadly the belt sander you feature here isn’t available directly in the US, but neither did I see it listed on Festool UK or Amazon UK. Where did you source yours, and do you know if the belt sander is still in Festool’s current line up?

    Why were the faces painted if it was all going to be sanded off after glue up? Probably a simple answer but I have no idea haha

      I sprayed the edges to get even buildup quickly and it oversprays the face
