omg Ana, when I tell you you're literally the most perfect human being I've every seen, I mean it. I started writing books in 2021 and gave up around June of 2023 and I'm just getting back into writing and I've been over-saving all of your videos to my watch later playlist so I can refresh my memory and this video is SPECIFICALLY what I was looking for! you're a mind reader and you deserve main character in a best-selling novel! Also: hope you had an amazing time in Japan, one of the best trips I ever decided to go on!❤
thank you so much ive been so stressed tryjng to plot my book without really knowing how, i felt so disorganized and milanote literally changed my whole writing life ig haha
My main problem with plotting is the gaps between important scenes. Like sometimes your characters need a few weeks or months to integrate themselves into a new setting and befriend new people, and I just don't know how to bridge that time without a lazy timeskip. They work for the integration part, just not for the befriending part. Especially in a "non-humans in a human setting" story, I just don't know how to keep that time exciting. Dealing with multiple povs is also quite a struggle. I just don't come up with an exciting second plot, but I need it for later information and to balance out the first plot.
I’m not joking when I say that this video helped me actually develop nearly a full plot for a story I was lost on in one evening. I never thought of the Pinterest image > scene idea!

What I do which I find really annoying, is if I’m listening to music, I zone out thinking about some really cool scene in my head that has me tossing and turning with excitement, and that doesn’t sound too bad, but if I’m reading something, I end up getting really cool inspiration and forming my own scenarios, and then I end up not reading my book which I hate, but now I’m wondering if I wrote a story using my ideas, would that get them out of my head? I have thought about trying to write a story but then I’m never sure it’ll turn out that good 😢

I'm not Ana haha, but I use Nameberry to find my character names, if you'd like to check it out. If I want a name with a meaning that fits with my character, I use the Advanced Search and type in a physical or personality trait of my character to find a fitting one. If your character comes from a fantasy world, maybe look for names from a real-world culture your world is based on or inspired by. Tbh, sometimes I just pick a random name that sounds cool (if they're a secondary character it doesn't matter too much anyway). Hope that made sense and I helped somewhat :)

However my parents know I write books, but are strict Christians. So, should I just wait until I am over 18 to publish it or find a way to do it through an app or something. These two children explore this second type of world that has been closed off from the "Normal" world (our world) and they come across many creatures, fae and different plants and places? This all happens after opening a book in a case found in their house's basement and notice how it calls to them, and how the older sister being the one who throws herself without thinking decides to open it? Any thoughts?
