First of all... DO NOT COME TO 2020!! Second, I'd go to the 1960's so I could see the Beatles in concert live.. and meet Paul McCartney when he was younger.

I’d really like to go to some of those big moments but I’d also wanna go back and see like my great great grandparents

Good idea. My father's parents died long before I was born. Even before my mother met my father. So I could go back with my brother and my mother to get to know them.

@@Alinor24 I knew/know all my grandparents, my grandpas have passed, but only knew one great grandma and I was 4 when she passed. I’d love to even just see them even if I couldn’t talk to them.

I'd go back to the late 1800s/early 1900s to Denmark to hear Herman Bang read out his texts -- and also to the opening night of Hamlet, or anywhen and anywhere Shakespeare happened to be, just to see what the man himself and the people originating his roles were like, and also to today's UK during the 5th century to hear some lore and witness the events that inspired some of our greatest tales, and also to Bergen to see the Ylvisåkers perform in that school play, and also to 1936 Britain to hear Tolkien's Beowulf lecture, and also to November 2018, so I can hear my former tutor geek out about Old Iceland again, and also to 19th century Germany to mess with the Grimms, and also --

i agree with seeing the first performance of hamlet, and personally i'd also really like to see mozart in person as well. there are a ton of rennaissance artists id like to meet and a handful of long-dead authors, but ultimately i have one really lame thing id like to do with the tardis. if i had the tardis, then sooner or later i'd find myself in the movie theater (its a big machine, if it has a library, a pool, and bedrooms and bathrooms, theres gotta be a movie theater as well) watching tons of tv shows and movies from other countries now that i have the tardis to translate everything for me

I’d go and see some dinosaurs, visit Ancient Egypt, see the Battle of Hastings first hand, watch some of my favourite movie in theatres for the first time plus some films like Sixth Sense with a big twist to see people’s reactions and I’ll go and visit the Doctor Who experience once again 😭 oh and of course watch some missing Doctor Who stories

I would go see star wars on opening night. That'd be so cool to actually hear people's reactions in the theater. Oh and I'd have to see the empire strikes back as well to hear people freak out about vader being lukes father.
(I realize this comment probably shows my age bc I was obviously not alive then. I'm 17)
Oh I'd go to ancient Egypt too

Fun fact, Star Wars was being changed so much by George Lucas that tye original showing hasn’t been seen since it’s original showing

A TARDIS is basically Netflix Syndrome, but with time and space instead of shows and movies. The possibilities of where and when you can go are overwhelming.

    Step 1: Become immortal
Step 2: Assemble the Doctor's long list of created/converted immortals or otherwise long lasting travellers.
    Step 3: ???
    Step 4: Profit.

It would be so hard to choose...the hard thing is that you couldn't go back and really relive any parts of your childhood or anything, you'd have to stay out of the way of everyone unless you wanted to spill the secrets of time travel or had a really great disguise. I would definitely go back to 1973 and watch all three races of Secretariat's Triple Crown (and maybe get a glimpse of my parents at the Derby:). Go back and see the dinosaurs and other eras before humans and geek out over the flora and fauna. Maybe hit up some famous speeches like Martin Luther King's I have a dream, and concerts by Mozart, Bach, etc. I'd really have to debate taking a peek at the future. It might be awesome, or you might just open the door to a radioactive hellscape and then have to live with the knowledge that humanity is doomed.
In all honesty I don't think I'd want the power. It would be far too tempting to change events and end up tearing a hole in reality or whatever:)

Like Tenant's answer a lot but I personally would more so want to see moments that defined my life rather than our cultures.
