Panasonic AM1 Band Radio R - 2200 Silver Analog radio. I bought from Amazon Japan, little bit more expensive and just one AM band, but Sound!, loud receptions enjoy to listen , Black RF 2400D,digital, New radio with one you can buy almost everywhere, easy digital tuning but lose volume, and sound quality. It is my opinion. Maybe some one thing different.

So basically i should look for just analog radio AM only but not with FM and AM? Some one else also pointed out if FM is added with AM sound is not that good. Please advise.

@@FarooqF-g2x I don't thing is matter. One of the best radios is Super radio 1, and 2. Sony EX5 etc. This radios all has AM, FM bands. Some old models have only AM bands for two reasons. - Because it didn't exist FM band that time when it was made, or it is Japanese radio like Sony ICR-71. Japan is surrounded by a mountains, there is hard to get FM station in somewhere, that why is only AM bands exist. DSP radio is good but when buttery get lilt bit low it is useless. Beside sensitivity and selectivity of radios, sound is very important that's why some people like Sanegan, or CCRadio 2E . In conclusion chose is endless. Good luck to find best one! cheers.

@@valobou I checked Sony ICF EX5, what a beautiful sounding radio. However, how would you rate Panasonic R312 vs Sony ICF EX5? Panasonic R312 seems to have bigger speaker but not sure which sounds best..

The Panasonic R-2200, is DSP or REAL ANALOG RADIO?

The point of this video is to show you that the 2400 is true analog and the 2400D is digital (indicated by the “D”).
The title is wrong, the RF-2200 is a completely different radio. It doesn’t even look like this radio and they’re around $400 (at the time of this writing).

The RF-2400D is the way to go. It is the best radio to buy on the market. I would not know why to go analog. I believe AM reception strength depends on the internal ferrite antenna solely. At least this one has way better and clearer (allmost without distortion) AM reception than lets say 1990's radios. Its the best bang for the buck.

AM reception depends on the “strength” of the AM antenna SOLEY? Explain. Do you mean the length? The number of windings? What?
You know location has A LOT to do with AM reception (to say nothing of time of day and sun activity).
Some people prefer analog because you can tune to the edge of weak signal and grab it by moving the radio or adding an external loop. Digital tuners grab strong stations and don’t allow you to drift to the edge of the signal.

Digital tuners absolutely suck for AM radio...analog tuning is the only way to go. You get better selectivity and range with an analog tuner, plus the nice hetrodyne sounds I enjoy on AM.

That's the word I was looking for "hetrodyne" sound. Now understand where the taste of that unique sound was lost. Could you please specifically name some brilliant vintage true analog radios?
