Hey awsome video one off the best videos i have seen about the ls1 water pumps Thank u for the video. I did have one question im using the carb intake will i have cut the truck bracket and and what about the idel pulley relocation bracket will i have to use that one?
Power steering pump to Pittman hoses is still mystery to me. I once did olds to chevy motor swap fitting wouldn't fit. I changed Pittman arm. Some take pump leave it to side.
Good question… so there’s a couple different types of vent tubes you can use. The one I had that came on the 5.3 had a long vent tube that connected the two front ports with the two back ports, so all four were in use. I had to switch to the other vent tube that blocks off the two back ports and utilizes only the front two, then I had to bend the tube slightly to get it to be low enough for the intake to mount securely. But it was pretty easy.
Hey great video. I bought a 2002 chevy 6.0 motor to install into 72 chevy monte carlo, can i put LS1 intake on 6.0 motor? Trying to eliminate the intake thats currently on the motor
@@jaimecortes1108 no problem. It sounds like that would be because of the type of motor mounts your using, that’s why I used the adjustable ones from Dirty Dingo so it held the engine up a inch or two higher and you can slide the engine forward or backwards to adjust for clearance.
Hey, another question for you, do the stock truck fuel rails work with the ls1 intake? I know you need truck injector spacers correct? Also, Ive heard the truck valley cover bolts dont work with the ls intake because of clearance issues, is this true? thanks!!!!
Paulee E Hey thanks for watching the video, I have the LS one and take on mine with the factory valley cover bolts so I can confirm that those do fit. But as far as the truck fuel rail on the LS one intake I think that that would be more of a pain then it would be worth doing, If you get on eBay you can find a cheap LS one fuel rail or even an aftermarket one and save yourself the money for the injectors. Or if you’re just wanting to save yourself from having to use the single fuel line type of rail, I made a whole video on how to very easily switch from having to fuel lines to one. Check it out it might help you. $20 is all you need
There may be other ways to do it but based on location and the way the belt is set up the f body seemed like the best choice in my opinion, and has worked quite well

@@thehowardsgarage2480 on alternator my oem plug from car has 2 wires on it which wires do I tie I to my standalone harness or do both go on my standalone harness to make my gauge Work?
MrStevoG79 your alternator is controlled by the pcm, you should have received a plug from your new wiring harness that goes to your new alternator, you’re not going to use your old old alternator wires because they go to your old PCM... and as far as the gauge on the dash for the battery goes, it just basically runs to a 12 V positive wire, it doesn’t go directly to the alternator. Whatever your voltage of the vehicle is is what the gauge shows, the alternator is controlled by the PCM though when it sees that your voltage is dropping the PCM kicks the alternator on... have you gone to LT1swap.com? All the information you need about the wiring you have is in that website, I can’t tell you specifically which wires you have because I don’t know what year make and model of your vehicle is or what year make and model of your motor came out of. I would have to look all of that up on LT1swap.com, and it’s just as easy for you to look on the website then it would be for me to try to figure it out and then let you know.
