Definitely one of the greatest use of that effect maybe ever. This was brilliance of EVH. Making even simple rifts sound amazing with great tone and effect choice.
Flanger is not on all through the song, only in the chug parts on the drop d string. Gotta switch it on and off and have the sweep, rate and depth set correctly. Mxr phase 90 is the pedal used on most evh solos and a lot of his rhythm parts
haha im only 6'2" but the part of the basement i chose to be my studio when I was younger is also where all of the vents run for the heat and ac so its dropped lol. rest of the basement I fit no problem

But you're proof of about 3rd generation people he's influenced and his music will live on. I can tell by all of the artwork in the background and the guitar mods he's had a heavy influence on you. I'm the same way but im like 2nd gen Van Halen fan/guitar player who grew up in the 90's. Keep it up.

I had Dave Whitehill from Guitar World as a guitar teacher (he was a transcriber). Unchained is in my top 3 favorites to play. Nice improv on some of the solo too. I think most should do that (eddie certainly did it a lot live). I was wondering about what you did in the mounting of that floyd and it's respective locking nut. I have a 57 reissue strat from the 80's that was stripped of it's paint and a neck that's very worn with no electronics. I think it'd be fun to build one similar to the strat you're playing as well as an homage to Eddie. did you do this mod yourself? anything to be mindful of when i do go ahead and make the mod? I'm not super familiar with that model but all I did for this video was put the treble and mid around 8, bass at 4, isf at 10, presence at 6, resonance at 3, and master at 7. Gain was at around 3 on od2 with channel volume at 10. This amp is not stock however. Hope this helps!

this was about 3 or 4 years ago and I was using a blackstar 100 watt head (which I still use but it sounds more like a plexi now)
